Probably one of the worst experiences I have encountered. The value of the tickets was to high for the attractions and the cost of the snacks, drinks and shop were the usual rip off. Would not recommend.

I rediscovered this place last year after about 15 years. Now intend to visit regularly as going to buy annual membership (as my niece bought membership to take her 2year old son there instead of a park! Because no dogs, no bicycles, anti social people. Also, has hot house/fish - so can come inside, toilets, restaurant and play area as well as birds etc to enjoy, restaurant, seating and shop too. Safe parking.
I intend to take friends with me and have mentioned the place to so many of my associates as a place to take both young and old. I look out for events taking place there and intend to go as often as I can. A haven in Birmingham where I will be taking all my friends and family from Birmingham and outside Birmingham.I intend to buy annual membership (cheaper for over 60+ and allows you to take Another adult free on each occasion. Also, they said some complimentary tickets given and a friend said free pot of tea when you join - voucher in booklet they had in the post! Will try to go to the free events and also Sundays when the live bands play in the bandstand. Just want some nice weather now.

Really fab place to visit lots of very pretty walks to be had outside and beautiful flora to be seen inside. There are several caged birds so if you are slightly sensitive to that sort of thing, but easy enough to avoid.

Maybe 3 stars. After a long continuing heatwave plants are suffering. Highlight - watching butterfly emerging from chrysalis which fascinated grandsons aged 10 and 12 who took issue with other kids trying to pick butterflies up with thumb and finger instead of cupped hands or best leaving them alone. They enjoyed the 2 playground areas. There is an ice cream hut near both with very friendly staff, prices not too high compared to the main food outlet. There are copious signs giving information about plants and collectors. The gardens are also educational in purpose. It would be good if there were gardeners or students around to give more information. The aviaries are worth visiting. It's a good afternoon out, near to the city centre, with enough to keep preteens and horticulturalists occupied. But it is not cheap (unless you have a family pass) not exceptional.

We hosted a wedding here and were really impressed (we do not impress easily having hosted 100's of weddings - been there seen that), staff were great, room wonderful, great stage & access.

There is no need to mention the wonderful gardens etc.

If your looking for a wedding venue with a difference this has to be it.

Absolutely love this place. Take a picnic and you can easily spend a whole day here. Beautiful gardens, plenty to see and a fantastic array of exotic plants, flowers and trees to see indoors. If you're lucky you'll see the beautiful peacocks that live here. Feel sorry for the parrots though. Parrots are extremely social birds who need alot of attention and stimulation. You can see they that they are clearly not getting the required amount of care. Feather plucking is the biggest telltale sign.

Although small its well looked after and a interesting varied range of flowers and exotic plants! A nice stroll around the park and say hi to the peacocks who if your lucky may show you a full fan display of their colourful feathers !
