I'm normally a fan of these gardens, but went back this year 2018 to see the Christmas Lanterns on display. Very disappointing and nowhere near as good as 2017. Hopefully this was a one off not to be repeated. So my advice is ... go in the summer

Went for the Christmas lights show. The lights themselves were good and entertained my daughter. Getting into the venue was quick and well organised. Not so good was the lack of any kind of parking, not even local direction signs to organised parking elsewhere. Also the one way system around the gardens was poorly thought out and the paths unsafe for the dark in places.

Its a very varied place, ever-changing with the seasons. A good place for a quiet saunter or to take the kids. With strong play equipment suitable for tots to teens. Well laid out for wheelchair users with only one or telescopes nor recommended.

Lovely place for a wander or even just a place to sit and relax with a book on a warm afternoon.
Came here to work at a conference as has a look around Street. Considering a yearly pass and it's very reasonably priced and not far from home. Beautifully presented and the staff are great.
Nice play ground for the kids too and butterflies!

Beautiful botanical garden with a beautiful variety of plants and flowers even in winter. It is nice to walk there and there are also beautiful birds and squirrels. Children's games are present at the bottom of the garden and a tea room on the side. With a beautiful sun it is possible to make very beautiful pictures.

Great place for a walk, a picnic or a coffee break, plus there s an amazing play area for kids of all ages. The only downside is that it can be a bit drab in the winter months, no winter colour through planting, the rest of the year makes up for it though.

Wonderfull place which gave me feeling live closer to nature, far away from the city. Perfect for walk. You can see here huge range of plant, trees and even birds. Runs a lots of events. Has cafeteria and toilets. Friendly for wheelchair users and families. I love peacocks walking freely around. Has gift shop also.

A beautiful place where one may come close with nature. The animals in there are friendly. Some of the plants are astonishing. One feels like they travel the whole world by simply walking to the next room of a huge greenhouse. Occasionally there is live music and you can dit on the grass, eating or drinking with family or friends and play cards, talk, laugh and relax; even sleep.

As usual botanical gardens are very family friendly and always have something to do. We went for the ice age exhibition and it was fantastic with life models and with the lovely weather it was a great day out. Even without the exhibition botanical gardens is ideal for an enjoyable day out.

Lovely gardens and beautiful flowers!

Lovely gardens and beautiful flowers!
However we were made to pay and see the ice age exhibit which we didn't want to, meaning the gardens were much noisier than usual, plus the exhibit was poor.

First time going and I was disappointed..

First time going and I was disappointed..

Arrived and told to drive down and park on the left? Going around until a couple told us it's down the bank and around the back of the school? Parked in a school car park which was tight. Very poor organisation! Walked 15min back up and finally found the little box office in the middle of nowhere and when asked for tickets its double the price just for the plastic statues for ice age, not happy. But I must say the gardens are beautiful and such a shame it was ruined by poor organisation and some cheap ice age event, I will return but in the week and when no event is running.
