BIRDEM stands for bangladesh institute of research and rehabilitation in diabetes , endocrine and metabolic disorders. It is located in shahbagh. I recommend this hospital for finest ICU and CCU care.But it is pricy because it is not government funded.Prof Ibrahim started BIRDEM.Now it is the largest private hospital in bangladesh. They provide outdoor, indoor and emmergency care. Everything is disciplined and BIRDEM have all the renowned professor under their umbrella to provide quality health care.

BIRDEM Hospital we proud for this institute because nationally it is the 1st place for Diabetic patients.

BIRDEM General Hospital is the largest Diabetic hospital of the world. It is specialized in treatment of diabetic patients. Situated in the heart of the city, Shahbagh. It offers feasible and life saving insulin. There is a Specialist chamber in the second floor. It also provides imaging services and ECG.
It is one of the most important hospitals of the country.

Treatment is good. No doubt about that. But there are some flaws that need to be fixed. Lift operators are too much unprofessional and get annoyed by everything. Nurses are helpful but all the other staffs are bit arrogant and don't know how to behave. Patients or the families form outside of Dhaka may find it difficult to deal with the staffs.

Birdem General Hospital is consisted of three multi-storied buildings. In the middle of the hospital premise there are a five storied building, on the North side a sixteen storied building and to the South side an eight storied building built. Each building also has facilitated with sufficient number of lifts.

This hospital has indoor and outdoor patients treatment facilities. People have to collect tickets from the counter paying required fee or charge. After that treatment procedures will start systematically.

3 years of experience in Bardem today, almost all the facilities are available at reasonable cost, but the use of their staff is very poor.
No one is trained. People are harassed when they come for services. Probably a factor as to why they're doing so poorly.

Very low quality treatment. They are taking money and giving treatment like other private hospitals like low quality government hospitals. The use of staff of doctors and nurses is very bad. There is no coordination among the doctors of different departments. One doctor is in the business of giving all the treatment.

Very crowded place. People of all class and ages visit there. They need to stand in queue from early morning. Still this place is far good for diabetes and hormonal department but actually best known as diabetics hospital!!

Here is History

Somewhat better service than government service. The cost is like private.

The use of staff is bad. At counter number 22, only 1 out of 6 counters is open. The patient did not get commode even after 1 hour in CCU.

Very big hospital. This is a specialised hospital for diabetes patients, even though other patients also treated here. This hospital was established by Dr. Ibrahim. At the beginning the hospital was named after him after his death as Dr Ibrahim memorial hospital but later changed as BIRDEM hospital. Service of this hospital is above average compared to other hospitals in Bangladesh.

Females....... never go alone to the outdoor of dermatology department in this hospital, senior female doctor are shameless and insist to share problems infront of there male assistant...just nonsense and shameless doctors...!

Service is not that much good as well as not clean that much as a diabetic hospital

An ultimate place for diabetics patients. One of the best service but in Bangladesh you have to recheck the hygiene issue cause nationwide this issue is a concern / but now a days people are getting more educated about hygiene and they are careful on this/

Besides this, covid issue also hitting up Bangladesh. And people are not much aware of mask, social distance / so like last year, this year also had a threat /

I was there for two times due to my family members are admitted and I m satisfied of their treatment. Hospital is a bit crowded but you can be confident for their treatment. For cleanliness I would like to mark average . Treatment is a bit expensive but they don t create unusual issues for cutting down your money. They have large parking space but you need to pay for it.

Its quality of treatment is worse than that of a third class government hospital. Will only bill lakhs of rupees and release the patient without completing the treatment. Don't forget to go to this hospital.

If you want to show for the first time, you have to appear on an empty stomach between 8:30 in the morning and deposit money at counter 15 with a slip from counter 14 After that go to the 16th counter for blood test. Hopefully all the work of that day will be done by 10 o'clock. He will come again the next day at 6:00 am and show the doctor with the report and serial. On this day maybe all work will be finished by 10:30.

Good Private Hospital of Dhaka.Always remain crowdy & noisy.Diagnostic service are very good.There so many counter available to take sample.Waiting time is quite high here.Must come early morning to receive fast service.Diagnosis fee is quite minimal with compare to other private hospital. Interior of hospital is clean.Overall it is a good hospital to receive well treatment.
