Customers Beware: Birchwood sells used cars in needs of repairs as safetied. The catch is that once during the test drive customer finds out deficiencies, Birchwood sales staff will try to add overinflated cost of repairs on top of the purchasing price. When customer is questioning such a practices, Birchwood sales staff will promise to complete repairs. It is the lie. Instead of completing repairs, they will continue to advertise vehicle in hope that some other customer will bite on the repair costs and agrees to pay extra or customer who will not notice the problem and makes a purchase. Of course, in this case cost of the repairs will come out of the customer s pocket. I glad that I paid attention. Do not get misled by their low advertised prices. Once you get sucked into their let s make a deal game , you will pay a lot more then you ever intended to. Stay away from Birchwood dealerships.

Bought my last 2 cars at Birchwood Honda. Both times, right before sales were completed they would tack on "extra" insurance (tire insurance, roadside assistance, extended warranty). If you questioned them they get really annoyed and offended. I like my sales person, but the administrative staff that completed the sales are sharks (trying to sell you extras) to the point where they imply the car will breakdown after you leave the lot - counter intuitive.

DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOUR AND STAY AWAY FROM BIRCHWOOD. We got an e-price on a specific car from Avie Erdile and the price was "inclusive of everything and is with 0 down and no trade". The price does not include taxes. Great, the car we wanted at the price we could pay so we went to purchase "our car". Imagine our surprise and frustration when the sales manager said the price was subject to interpretation (theirs of course, apparently we simpletons can't read English) and was actually higher, high enough to put it out of our reach. When we showed them the printed out email in black and white it didn't matter to them. They will not stand behind their own words and that is as DISHONEST as anyone can get!

I made an appointment to test drive a preowned Kia Sportage; a vehicle on which I had done extensive research and had test driven at other dealerships but I needed an AWD which Birchwood had. Or so I thought. When I got there, the salesman let me know it had been sold, but that they had many similar makes and models they were sure I'd like just as much. I was astonished! I could not believe it was legal to be tricked in this way! Reading back over our emails, I saw that he had never come right out and lied but his wording was such, that he gave me every impression he had the car I was specifically inquiring about.
This was at the end of some very long days of driving all over Winnipeg and test driving many vehicles. I was running out of time as I needed to drive West to start work at a job I had accepted in the BC mountains. Why I needed AWD and not FWD. I was exhausted, discouraged and vulnerable. I just had no more energy or enthusiasm for what I thought would be a thrilling and gratifying purchase!
Franz made several suggestions as to what he could show me, none of which were anything close to what I had hoped to buy...the Kia Sportage.
But then he showed me the Kia Sorento. It wasn't nearly as huge as I had come to believe in the course of my research. And it just so happened that it was magically sitting outside the door, ready for a test drive!
I got over my disappointment immediately upon driving it. I LOVED THIS VEHICLE!!!
Contrary to what I believed about the Sorento being gigantic and cumbersome. It was the opposite. It felt compact and sporty, yet so powerful. It was responsive and handled like a dream in traffic. It drove more like a car than an SUV, which is why I thought I wanted the Sportage. But unlike the Sportage, it had serious balls on the highway and was so quiet and solid that I couldn't even tell when it was running! It was EVERYTHING I needed for driving and living in the icy mountains.
So, sick as I was of shopping and happy as I was with the vehicle, I bought it on the spot...., cash. I dont know anything about vehicles and as I had never looked at Sorentos, I just paid what Franz told me. But he threw in new winter tires. Everything I had in the world and saved for. ..for years. To the astonishment and visible joy of Franz!

So why am I bitterly unhappy???

The price and the mileage. It is a 2013. I paid $15 000. BUT THE MILEAGE WAS 150000 KMS!!!! Basically, the same mileage as a ten year old Kia. Not a 6 year old kia I just spent $15,000 on. Why does this only bother me NOW? Well, despite promising myself I wouldn't, I couldn't help but notice, looking back on previous searches that this same make and model is consistently asking somewhere between $8000 and $10000 for mileage that is consistently around the 100,000 km range. Often lower. There is a A HUGE number of preowned Sorentos for sale everywhere. I suppose it is a very popular vehicle and I can understand why. But now I have a vehicle that if I wanted to sell today, I probably can't unless I give it away. There's so many out there at reasonable prices. God forbid what MPIC would give me if it was written off. They would laugh at me when they saw what I paid for an affordable vehicle with huge mileage in such a short time!
I'm devastated. I have such buyer's remorse that I feel sick. This cost me my life's savings, as pathetic as that sounds. And I've never experienced this feeling before in my life. I'm always content with my decisions as they are always carefully thought out and informed. This purchase was made on the end of a bad day under personal duress? When I made a snap decision at a vulnerable moment which a salesman recognized after hoodwinking me to his store. I feel like a fly, caught in a web of deceit and eaten alive.
I just wish this feeling would go. I can't enjoy my vehicle because I feel sick just looking at it.
How can I feel better? If Birchwood offered me $5000 back. I would feel like I have what I wanted and paid a fair price. Now I feel cheated and robbed and and stupid. I hope this helps someone.

Had to take my car there for a last minute unscheduled oil change. They were great about fitting me in and the lounge where I waited was very nice and comfortable. I will definitely look to one of their dealerships when I plan on upgrading my current vehicle, super friendly and helpful!

5 star service every time I go to Kia Birchwood West. Really good service department, and Lyle is an outstanding technical advisor. Definitely a better dealership than the one I used to go to before I moved to Winnipeg.

'Guzman' Julie was my sales person and she was extremely helpful...

The sales managers there helped me set up the purchase in a better way than what I was originally planning. We bought a new Sorento, my wife and I are extremely happy with the vehicle. Everyone there took the time to help make the purchase a great experience thank you!!!

Our bought our 2017 Ram Rebel bran new and have has soooo many problems with it. So far it has been in the shop 13 times (driving without keys, rear defrost, touch entry handle, remote starter, tailgate falling, dash cluster, rear window not opening, auto park software,truck jumping, puling to right after alignment, plus what I don't have written down. 7 alone for the AIR RIDE SYSTEM! With yesterday being the last and it still there.
On my the way home from work yesterday morning it was super bumpy and would not properly go into any mode the lights kept flashing saying it raising but it wasn't, this is when I know the air ride system is failing, then I get the message on the dash saying AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM COOLING DOWN PLEASE WAIT (old shop manager says this is not a good sign and that there is a problem with it, after this the fuse will blow and if they dont know what they doing it they will stop at the fuse and not look for another problem has happened) other message is IMMEDIATE AIR SUSPENSION SERVICE/REPAIR REQUIRED.
Husband called the dealership and was lied to, "Chrysler Canada is saying that they are not fixing any air ride suspensions until it warms up cause it will keep happening" (DUH) and that they will not being it in for at least 2 days. And will not provide a rental. and that "Chrysler Canada is telling them to advise customers not to drive any AIR RIDE SUSPENSION vehicles in this weather." I deiced to call FCA myself and had a lengthy conversion with a Case manager about what Winnipeg Dodge was telling people. He ended up calling into talk to Brett and that he would get us in that day, and that there is no memos regarding telling them not to fix a vehicle with air ride problems. I have pictures and videos the truck and these problems.
I am getting very frustrated with Dodge.
I am growing very tired of this Dodge and having to be in the shop all the time! And now being lied to does not help matters at ALL.Just buy back this vehicle and save us both time and money.

Highly frustrating experience at Birchwood Lexus. Had ordered a few small parts 4 months ago. Upon checking back with the parts dept a month later to ask where my parts were, it turns out they had no record of any order. So I again placed the order for the parts (3 months ago). Last week, after a 3 month wait, I received a call saying the parts arrived and to come and pick them up.

After driving across the city and getting staff attention the staff member went to look for the parts. After 20 minutes of standing at the counter I was told they could not find the parts. Then I was told there was no record of the order!

After a further 20 minutes they seemed to find an electronic record of the order but no parts.
They are now ordering the parts (for the 3rd time) - I will see if they actually arrive. Ask me if I would like to deal with this auto dealer again - I think you know the answer!

Great place to get your new car truck experience! Old dealership with a new look backed by an old Winnipeg family.
Kind of great to have a local presence when a lot of the dealerships are being taken over by out-of-province interests and consolidation.

This all adds to the price of owning a new vehicle but there's always the "pre-owned" do euphemism for *used" .... I laugh everytime I hear that!
There are a lot of dealerships to shop there not only GM but most other domestics and imports in this mature Auto Mall.
It is a central switchboard for all the dealerships so keep in mind when you call that you're just being routed. Which is probably just as efficient isn't it?

I was looking earlier in January of 2014, but couldn't decide what I wanted to do with my current vehicle & passed on a demo suv. Scott Stevenson my sales person called me in early September of 2014 and informed me that the 2014's where on a deal at 0% and that a GM rebate & loyalty rebate was available.
We discussed my current situation to keep my old vehicle or to try and get into a new 2014 with better gas mileage & hepl lower my payments with the 0% and rebates. We work on a 2014 Buick Encore with my trade in and he got the biweekly numbers to work so I was still comfortable and I could save gas money and lower my car loan payments.
I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend Birchwood to all my family and friends.
PS ask for Scott Stevenson and tell them Tony Perrella sent you.

I just want to say I had a hard time at first with my appointment. Cassie at the call centre was really helpful and kind and Graeme in the service department was understanding. I really appreciate the service I received here, I was upset and concerned because I needed an unexpected amount of repairs but the people I dealt with made it easier and explained everything in a way that put me at ease. I will definitely be back, hopefully not too soon!!

Our car was here for a scheduled 3 hour appointment, which they called to say would run a little longer. That little longer turned into a 7 hour appointment. Very disappointed that they weren't even close to the scheduled time frame.

Bought a Forte and they went the extra mile in my opinion. Did not have the colour I wanted, but traded with another dealer and I had the car three days later. My previous two cars were Civics and I was looking for something different. This worked out perfect, staff was super friendly and my salesperson knew his stuff and did not pressure me which I appreciated. They even have an on site installer for remote starters which I really wanted, it was already done before I took delivery. Good experience.

Went in for oil change and tire repair. Was pleasantly informed that there were 4 free oil changes from previous owner that were not used so I was able to use one of them for my service! Had 2 free oil change coupons from when I bought the car so the service technician told me to contact the sales rep that sold me the car to get new coupons with a later expiration date so that I wouldn't waste them. Great service everytime I go here (always went here with my previous vehicle).
