I wouldn t recommend this doctors office.. they don t take people health serious. After going to this place twice I realized nothing was really accomplished by going here. Don t waste your time.
I went to EVMS, initially, because I was having problems where I thought a constant string of second opinions might be helpful. Between scheduling my initial appointment, and actually being seen, I had a major issue that led to other doctors diagnosing what's been wrong with me since around puberty. (I was 30 when I was finally diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.)
The residents and faculty at EVMS, though, have been wonderful helping me stay on top of the MS treatments, and overall health. My wife who was not particularly happy with her early visits, has grown to appreciate them after seeing some of the newer residents, and seeing the faculty handle my issues.
Sparing the fifth star from the stumbles getting started as a patient, but I do wholeheartedly recommend EVMS to friends and neighbors in Downtown/Ghent.
Don t expect to see a real doctor here. They ll just send medical students or nurse practitioners to see you, but you ll pay for the real doctor price. The staffs are unprofessional who will hung up your call and make mistakes on your appointments.
They did what they wanted to me. Got me in and go mu $$. I didnt know that you can tell by just touch if my cervix is infected--thats a new type of medical procedure. Even I know you need to check my blood for infection come on. Oh and we are going to ignore your complaints because we dont have the "capabilities" of properly examining you. So why would you drag me and my 3 week old to your office and NOT HELP ME AT ALL?
Have been coming here for over 20 years and this place has gone down hill fast. Doctors are never on time .staff are lazy .time to find another doctor
Been going here for eight years. Had excellent doctors in the beginning, but they left and the place has gone downhill (long waiting, unprofessionalism, inability to make a diagnosis, argumentative doctors who refuse to listen) over the years.
I never had a problem with staff or doctors there.they was always kind and professional my appointments always been pleasant..plus my uncle graduated from EVMS for Internal Medicine.
Apparently by bringing up a question about anxiety during my free annual physical, it became a "Level 4" office visit and I was slapped with a bill for $160 three weeks later. What a joke.
I've been going to Ghent Family for more than 20 years and I have no complaints. I take my children there now. Depending on the day, wait time varies but that's in any medical office. The doctors are great and answer all my questions. I won't be changing providers any time soon!
I liked my Doctor , Dr. Asima Haleem , but the practice is like an assembly line. If you want "personal " attentive care , this is NOT the place for you .I was made to feel as I was inconveniencing them with questions, and that my heath was trivial compared to others with more serious problems .When I requested my medical records to take to my next Dr. , It was full of notes , observations and things they said they discussed with me , that I had no knowledge about .I think Dr. Haleem is fine , but not as long as she stays with that practice.

THE SUPERVISOR WONT CALL YOU BACK! THEY WILL TREAT YOU LIKE AN ADDICT IF YOU ASK FOR MEDS! IM NOT ON DRUGS! THEY ALSO SAID I DIDNT HAVE A EAR INFECTION & NEVER GAVE ME MEDS! I WENT TO A SPECIALIST & THEY COMFIRMED THAT I DO INFACT HAVE A EAR INFECTION! I WAS SEEN 3 TIMES FOR MY EAR & THEY KEPT SAYING I DONT HAVE A EAR INFECTION! AFTER EVERY APPOINTMENT IT GOT WORSE! IT STARTED GETTIN PUST & BLEEDING! THEY DIDNT CARE! WORSE PLACE EVER! IF YOU DONT LIKE WHAT YOU DO, FIND ANOTHER FIELD PLEASE!
Worst doctors a friend went for stomach pain several times the dr said to take pepto wrong diagnosis friend had to get gall bladder out they wouldn't refer to specialist bad doctor's only want your money and insurance money
So I never actually went to the doctor here, but the staff was very unprofessional... I called to cancel my appointment 4 days before hand, and got a letter saying I did not call and cancel. The woman I spoke with was very short with me and rude! She made it seem like I couldnt cancel the appointment at first and then hung up without saying goodbye or anything... She said the appointment was canceled but obviously this letter tells me the opposite! If the staff on the phone are this rude and negligent, Im glad I had to cancel that appointment! Hope everyone else has a better experience because mine was not pleasant!
Doctors are wonderful and never have I encountered a long wait time.
The thing is - you have to get the right PCP. Some doctors there are very cold and "mechanical" while others are sweet and gentle. It's a hit or miss for general appointments but scheduling with a doctor you like there for your wellness visit/a critical issue -is worth all the other hub bub that goes on in the office. Feel it out - they are under TONS of stress so BE NICE - ask questions - and SHOW THEM that you're serious about your health and they will provide for you! #ILoveMyDoctor
I love Ghent Family Medicine. I have been with this doctor's office for 32 years. I base my decision on an insurance company on whether or not I can go to Ghent Family Medicine.

Terrible doctors who don't care about you. They're angry and disrespectful to patients. It must be an awful work environment. The medical students who will arrive to your appointment (whether you want them to or not) are very kind. Just don't count on receiving competent care from the MDs.
I haven't worked since the end of February. My employer is ready to bring me back today. All I need is an MCSA-5870 form from this office documenting my a1c lab results from May 18 of this year to provide to the DOT medical examiner. I tried all day to get them to provide it for me. Dr. Choi was my doctor but he's not there anymore. I loved this doctor and miss him. I'm so frustrated. I need this form to return back to work and start earning a paycheck again. I will try again tomorrow. I'm not feeling they're any too concerned about it though.
I've been seeing Dr Thomas Grant Jr. since I was 17years old. I am grateful for his compassion and care for over almost 30 years. Ghent Family has changed and upgraded however Ms Peggy's smile and Dr Grant's knowledge and recommendations have been a consistent experience. From a simple yearly physical to gut wrenching pain I have always received quality care.
I've been a patient here for many years. I have had my ups and downs as anyone would have with not feeling or understanding which direction their doctor has decided their treatment should go, but have never had an issue with receiving excellent customer service and support from each and every staff member and/or Doctor at this facility. I have always highly recommend this facility to each and every one of my family member and of course my friends.This facility doesn't get the recognition it deserves.Yes, it is a house for many students, but the students are backed by dedicated and highly knowledgeable doctors whom have many years of experience and do not take one patients issue lightly.
Many people come looking for a second opinion when in fact the first opinion they were given may have been correct. Sometimes you just have to accept you're diagnosis, no matter how many times you've been given it. Best of luck and of course health to each and everyone!
