Great atmosphere, fantastic views and friendly servers just adds to the great food
I visited this place Thursday September 20th for an anniversary dinner with my wife and our family. Being that it is a barbecue place and has ribworks in the name, I ordered the baby back ribs with a skirt steak. (Steak and ribs More
Nice spot on the river. The Brisket was tender and tasty. Probably some of the best brisket I have eaten in quite awhile.
The place to go for bbq food. Family friendly and an amazing outdoor eating area right on the Hudson. Great water view and landscape views. Drinks are great. Try the margaritas. The entrees are big so come with an appetite.
The brisket was spot on, nice smoke ring. The sauteed greens were excellent, the cornbread too. The view is awesome, and the staff were super. The ribs, however, were not. They were very dry and difficult to get off the bone, even with a knife. I would return for everything but the ribs.
The food was amazing and you can't beat the location by the water.
If you want to spend a cool night, come by Billy joes, it's music, food, drink, with the ocean view, I love a peaceful atmosphere.
My girlfriend s family and I ate here a few nights ago. I was less than impressed for several reasons. For starters a server didn t greet us until about 20 minutes after being seated. That s after asking several random servers walking by us who our server was. It was 95+ degrees outside and we were all pretty parched at that point and would have loved some water. Finally, Diana introduced herself as our server and apologized for the wait. Overall, Diana did a good job as our server once she was identified to tend to us. The food was another story, at least my dish
.
I ordered the brisket with cheese & broccoli and mac and cheese as my sides. Diana recommended the mac and cheese upon my inquiry and said it was one of their most popular sides. When I received my my order it was mashed potatoes instead of the mac & cheese (this was the universe clearly trying to tell me something). I brought this up to Diana who apologized and remedied the situation by swapping out the mashed potatoes for the mac & cheese. I was expecting macaroni with a natural parmesan or cheddar cheese melted on top. This was NOT the case. The mac & cheese was nothing more than Kraft mac and cheese (literally). There was nothing original or unique about it. It was literally the same mac and cheese you get for 26 cents from the grocery store. I m sorry but I m not a fan of man made, processed/powdered cheese (gross). Not to mention it was same disgusting, processed cheese drizzled over the broccoli. My brisket was overcooked and even my brother in-law who was sitting next to me said it looked like jerky.
The one good thing about this restaurant is that it is situated on the Hudson River and you have a nice view. Not much going for this place other than that. I will NOT be returning here again and suggest you stay away as well unless you like chemically enhanced and overcooked food, long waits, and wrong orders.
Fall off the bone ribs, amazing brisket, one of the best I ve ever had
Professional and friendly atmosphere. Great drinks and food. Always filled with people having an amazing time!
Awesome food, great customer service, and the view was beautiful!
While the view and atmosphere is great since its right on the river, the food needs a lot to be desired, the prices are way to high and the quality leaves a lot to be desired. I may return, but NOT for the food.
Very good burgers, but also very good ribs, I recommend it to all who likes to eat, hearty dish.
Jennifer Orr's customer service skills was top notch. She made our experience incredible. Plus she's superrr cute
Lots of space inside, but parking can be a challenge on the waterfront. Big menu, good food, efficient staff!
Great BBQ, smoked wings are awesome. Outdoor bar was a bit challenged, perhaps due to Covid19. Overall excellent atmosphere & food.
Excellent food, view, and our waiter (Tim) was awesome!
Wouldn't go there for a burger but everything else was amazing.
My sister dragged me there from NYC to taste the fried pickles and it was honestly worth it had the smoked wings as well everything was great will definitely be making another trip back
Absolutely awesome place. Bartenders are super friendly and on top if things. Paul (manager) was beyond cool and made sure we were having a good time. From Delaware visiting family but we WILL be back every time we come!!! Thank you Paul!!!! -Ray from Delaware
Nice place on the Hudson. Very accommodating. Great food. Friendly service. Reasonably priced.
Great atmosphere with outdoor seating right by the water! Their pulled pork is reallllyyy good. Expect to gain a few pounds!
Nice location, but I guess they don't let you drink if you have an out of state ID even if you're clearly over 21...
Decent food, nice location. A little bit too expensive for what you get.
The food and serving experience was very good. Our waitress went out of her way to make sure that my friend's steak was done the way he wanted and my ribs were fall off the bone perfect. However we happened to be there on a Friday night which was supposed to be Latin night. I like doing a little bit of Latin dancing like Salsa and Chacha. The music that was being played was anything but danceable Latin music... I had seen a bunch of people coming in that looked like they were possibly coming for a dance but no one got up on the floor so I know I wasn't the only one that was uninspired by the music.
I ordered wings and they camr back potloose.... not well done it was still soft inside. I sent it back to ba cooked nore and they sent me a nrw batch withing 5 mins, and that wasnt donw either.... worst placw for wings..... wont be going back !
Good food just fairly expensive for the amount of meat.
Absolutely amazing food. Would be 5 stars if not for the fact that I'm not really into the "club scene." If I want to go out to a bar or club, sure, I'll find one and go. But you're kind of thrust into the middle of a college aged kids dancing and drinking marathon whilst trying to eat your ribs in the corner as fast as you can to get out and all this not by choice type of situation. But like I said the food is delicious, has unique twists of some classics, and fresh. Just a little crowded and loud for my taste. This isn't your typical Texas Steakhouse sit down restaurant with the occasionally contrived awkward "ho down" from your waitress experience. Which isn't a bad thing.
We loved the environment along the river, service and mac n cheese. Hamburger sliders not so good. We'd go back again.
Is this the place right on the river that's about 100 meters long? Total guido gangsta meat market, as evidenced by the metal detectors at the entrance. Gold chains, tilted baseball caps, spike f-me pumps, excessive makeup and cologne that smelled like I was in a French cathouse, wife beater shirts, yadda yadda yadda... But the food and view were great!
Our waiter when we saw him, was great. However, we waited forever for service. My meal, which was the Porky Mac, was missing a multitude of its ingredients. It was bland Mac and Cheese with pulled pork on the bottom. Very disappointed!
The food here is wonderful, hanging out on the river Great!!
Great waitress very attentive and friendly. Staff friendly, view spectacular! Food was good but not as good as it's been in the past, maybe just an off day, :)?! We'll definitely be back!!
Food is excellent. Indoor and outdoor seating, and right on the Hudson
d place is in a nice location but have 2 b d worst bbq ive eva had eva.all d food was just plain out nasty.
The service here is good. The atmosphere is great. A very mixed crowd but the cover band sucked.
The food was cold when we got it. The broccoli with chesse sauce was cold. The corn bread taste as if it was made from a box.The ribs both baby back and St louis were both cold. (This is what they are known for). Now the good stuff ...The veiw was wonderful on the water and the bridge in the background.Great place but not a date place to nosie and to many kids .. Our waitress was nice and friendly. So over all the food was a 1 1/2 stars but the locarion and wait sraff gave it a three. I was disappointed wanted some really good ribs and got COLD ribs..
Food was bland and way overpriced would not recommend to anyone
First place I ate at post covid and felt very protected. The food was as good as always.
Great place. I hope they go back to their original menu from before the pandemic.
Great food, friendly wait staff. Inside or outside seating (weather permitting) and beautiful view of the river
The service is amazing my waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and bar, super attentive. The atmosphere very fitting to the name it looks like a rib joint and sounds like one. With that being said the food lacks flavor, overall I would just go for drinks.
Beautiful big deck. Right on the Hudson River. Food was very good.
Steamy day ... attentive waitress.... food good but not great ... calamari was a bit greasy
Fun night out eating dinner out by the water and checking out a band :)
Great food, meat is tender, and service is courteous. People bring their pets. There is a Beautiful view of the Hudson River and a gentle breeze. The area is surrounded by things to see including the shoreline the pier and historic part of Newburgh.
Casual atmosphere, good food and drinks, and excellent local bands
The only good thing about Newburgh. Great food and views.
Very nice service and good food. Had a great Memorial Day dinner with my friend.
Fantastic BBQ! I drive an hour to to there because it is just that good. Cool location right on the water.
Great food at a great price, beautiful view. At night, it turns into an outdoor club with a DJ.
Love this place, not only do you get a great view from their enormous deck of the Hudson River, the food was awesome and the staff were great! Check out the country dancing, it was great fun!
Cool place if you want to sit outside on the deck or have a beer and watch sports. Unfortunately, the bbq is not great. The ribs and brisket have a strange tasting sauce. If you have had proper pulled pork before, you will be disappointed with their version. I would describe it more as "mashed" than "pulled". Overall it was pretty disappointing. Not the worst place, but if you are looking for authentic bbq, this is not the place to go. Service was fine and atmosphere is lively-just don't go for the food.
It's kinda expensive but once you taste they they Mac and cheese you'll hand them the card and tell em you don't wanna see the receipt
Dropped in for happy hour
Great selection of appetizers at fabulous prices
Had drinks and designed driver got a special creative alcohol drink.
Appetizers were generous portions and prepared to perfection.
We had the sampler and calamari.
Prices were reasonable and service friendly.
Will return in future.
Standard food for mid range price point, a definite place to visit for anyone in the Newburgh area looking for good ribs. Ribworks also excels in its ambience, providing a wholesome environment that can handle both quiet days, and special events such as holidays. Service was speedy and efficient, and the waiters were kind.
Friendly, helpful staff and food is great! I loved it.
First time there. It was an hours drive from New Jersey... food was great! The view of the lake and the Marina with tree lined mountains in the backdrop was beautiful.... The staff was very friendly...... The whole experience was awesome! You have to try it!
Ate outside, the views are great.
Had the brisket sandwich.
This is a great place to eat when the weather is beautiful. You can sit outside and see Mother Nature at her best. I like the shrimp I ordered. My husband said the ribs are . He had way better.
Nice place but the two people that were taking care of seating were very rude so we left!
It was very good and enjoyable, also attractive, there was a lot of visitors, people were busy with families and friends, some people were having birthdays, the food is good, a lot of children were there, the outside was enjoyable, you can look at the sea and see the nice pretty water, the music was good and relaxing, good service and good atmosphere, recommendable. Enjoyed my time with my family there. Good parkings.
So delicious. Red curry duck and Tom Yum soup as well as pineapple fried rice with chicken are a must. I literally will drive a hr and a 1/2 to go get their food. Esp after a good hike.
Please take one of B's out of BBQ. Great View but the Brisket and Ribs had no favor. So please Billy Joe do some Ribworks.
I came here bc of the great reviews but was disappointed by the food. The service was great, the wait staff were so friendly. We really wanted to like this place bc its close to home and the views are great. But when the food came out, the wings were undercooked, as well as my chicken. There was a macaroni in the bbq sauce next to the chicken. There was a macaroni under the wings, there was a macaroni on our side of broccoli and cheese. It was like the cook used the same spoon to plate every dish. Plus the food was not hot and didn't have any flavor. Sadly, we want to come back to give this place another chance but don't want to be disappointed again.
Amazing food, great location. Huge portions, and really excellent quality. Can imagine it would be great in the summer. We went in the winter and it was too cold to eat outside.
The food was OK. The place is beautiful with a gorgeous deck right on the water. I'd probably go back just for the atmosphere.
Poor food quality. The ribs were dry and tough. The brisket was tough. Burgers were small and served with basic cheese, lettuce, tomato and bbq sauce for $15 - no onion, no pickles. Very disappointing.
Great food and better drinks. Always a fun time at Billy's!
They had plenty of room outside on the patio. Spacing necessary due to COVID was fine. Disposable menus and silverware (little difficult to cut a steak with a plastic knife). Food and service were good. Staff all wore masks. Felt good about the precautions they were talking.
