Good BBQ joint right on the Hudson River, great outdoor patio overlooking the river, prices are pretty typical, but everything is ala carte so it can get a bit pricey. I enjoyed the Kansas City cut ribs, but found them to be pretty small, so much so that I thought they were the Babybacks. The sides are small but pretty tasty, although the Collard Greens were way too salty! The outdoor bar is a very popular place, and on warm summer nights, there's a band, so it gets packed!!

The food was delicious and the waitress was very nice. We ordered sangria and they weren't good at all. We sat outside. It wasn't busy at 6:00pm. We were able to park right in front of the building. But when we left at 8ish, it was a looOng line and they parked the car for or you had to fish for parking somewhere.

This place has an awesome view of the Hudson and surrounding areas! The menu is diverse and above average yet the atmosphere and view is a perfect 10 I make a point to stop here every time I m in the area.

Ribeye steak was phenomenal, spiced just the right amount, tender and juicy. For side can recommend broccoli covered with cheddar. View by the water is very refreshing. Has dedicated motorcycle parking, which is awesome.

Very terrible experience. Waiter was constantly at a loss when we asked to order things. Time between us ordering and food coming out was subpar. This seems like the type of place that encourages drinks then profits off of people's drunken hunger

You will go to Billy Joe's for the food, and pretty much, that's it. . .

Billy Joe's is L-O-U-D! I had to lean over the table, just to hear my friend speak.

They have an assortment of old farm implements that are screwed to the walls, and they look kitschy. . .There is no rhyme or reason to their placement. They have a tire hanging on an inside roof that looks like it was fished out of the river.

They have outside seating, with a fantastic view of the Hudson, and the mountains.

The food is fantastic, I had a burger that was topped with pulled pork...I could have licked the plate :-} And the Mac n' cheese :-) ! If you are in need of BBQ or Pork, this is the place to go!

Also during the week they have music and dancing.

Decent service, food comes quick but it is not top notch BBQ by any means.

We had a large group of adults and young people. Our server, a young guy with a super smile couldn't have been nicer. He was attentive, personable and professional. The food was delicious and I am in love with your mini corn breads. We will certainly come again. This was my husband and my first time.

Had the Smokehouse salad with pulled pork. It was delicious the pulled pork was smoky and flavorful with bit of sauce added. Would love to go back and try the ribs. We went early for lunch and were the first group there so service was quick and attentive. The location was perfect as we sat on the patio off of the water where you could watch the boats and ducks and a gorgeous view of the mountains across the water. Definitely a place worth checking out.

Beautifully situated on the Hudson River, Billy Joe's is still THE spot in Newburgh and downstate. Plenty of floor space, good music, and phenomenal service. There is an attentive and focused floor presence by the staff. Late night menu is tasty, daytime menu is gratuitous. Check it out, worst case scenario, the scenery can't be beat.

Big place, very hospitable. Flowers and dessert for Moms. Not the best ribs Ive ever had. Too chewy and lacked flavor. Mac and cheese very good but broccoli side hardly cooked. Pulled pork portion fairly small and just okay, dry.

Got a zip car in the city, started randomly driving around, ended up in Newburgh. The Town itself leaves much to be desired, but Billy Joe's here was pretty amazing. Amazing pulled pork sammiches, and the huge brontosaurus beef ribs were outta this world. Definitely coming back. Worth even making the trip out from Manhattan.

Big, roomy place with a beautiful view of the water & mountains. Cool atmosphere for the summer. We had the brisket mac-n-cheese with the meat platter, (ribs & brisket) & a side of mashed potatoes & baked beans. Everything was good except for, of all things - the ribs!! We ordered the Billy Joe's baby back ribs & they were overcooked & dry. Too bad, otherwise I would've given this place 5 stars.

I went to BILLY JOE'S RIBWORKS with my daughter on our way back from Albany NY to Brooklyn NY in January 2016. A beautiful lady by the name Dana (I maybe wrong) served us. I had a beer because I was already full, she eate a macaroni sandwich and gave me a piece. She's been harassing me to go back, and her birthday is coming up.

Took about a 2 hour drive, with a fellow foodie, to check this place out. Parking was a little bit of a challenge, but in addition to their parking lot, street parking is available. The place is very spacious and the bathrooms were clean. We sat in the semi-outside area, (protected by plastic, see through, walls/windows), so we were able to enjoy the spectacular views outside and the great atmosphere inside. The staff was polite and friendly and the mixed crowd was lively but not rowdy (not even those at the bar enjoying the games on Tv). You could definitely be comfortable here, whether you brought the whole family or just your hang-out buddies. Most importantly, the FOOD WAS FANTASTIC!!!!!

Being foodies who traveled two hours to eat, we tried a nice variety of treats: SAINT LOUIS STYLE RACK OF RIBS, PULLED PORK, MACARONI & CHEESE, COLLARD GREENS, PIT SMOKED BABY BACK RIBS w/ONION STRAWS, GRILLED MAC & CHEESE SANDWICH, BROCCOLI, BAKED BEANS, A CHEESEBURGER TOPPED WITH ONION STRAWS, SMOKED BRISKET, PULLED PORK & ANDOUILLE SAUSAGE; ANOTHER CHEESEBURGER SET BETWEEN DEEP FRIED MAC & CHEESE BUNS, SWEET POTATO FRIES and a mason jar full of banana pudding. Everything but the banana pudding was TO DIE FOR. We enjoyed it so much and the prices were so reasonable, we took that same (almost) 2 hour trip just 3 weeks later

Food is good service was slow but my problem was this a family restaurant. But today a 1% bike club took over the place . They even had members standing guard in front of the building. We drove up for the day from long island we will think twice about going there again.

This is a strange place in my opinion. They turned a massive warehouse on the Newburgh waterfront into a massive barbeque restaurant. It isn't fancy at all, but they have valet parking. They aren't a chain restaurant, but the random-ass decor and t-shirts being sold inside say that they might be. The staff is managed professionally enough and comes off very chain-ey. The menu as well. This isn't all to be negative, as the place looks nice inside for a converted warehouse and the deck has great views of the Hudson. Billy Joe's is just a little off is all. And I think that is part of their marketing and appeal! Food is decent but pretty generic BBQ. I've had several differnet things, such as the pulled pork sandwich and the hickory burger. The pulled pork was pretty blah, with it really needing bbq sauce to make it more palatable. The burger was surprising good for a place like this, with them being very generous on the toppings (bacon, cheddar, onion straws and bbq). Maybe even a bit overkill. Luckily the beef was good though even though the roll was below average. Both onion straws and fries are good but not great. Multiple barbeque sauces are appreciated, and they range from good to meh. Plenty of options to dip things in is all. Regardless you will definitely have enough to eat here, as the portions are very generous. Their beer list is good, ranging from Dogfish Head to Keegan Ales to more common options. In fact, since there aren't many places that have a great beer selection around--let alone a tap selection--this becomes one of Billy Joe's larger selling points. Ironically enough with it's good-not-great food and great beer selection (for the Hudson Valley), in some ways, Billy Joe's is almost better suited to being a bar for us adults. Luckily it does have a bar area off to the side, so that is what I'd advise using the place for if you want to see its best.
