Cool place with everything for outdoor sports.
A touch pricey

Bill Jackson's has become one of my go-to places for outdoor gear. I've lived in Florida a long time and whenever I need something that is durable for fishing, diving, or skiing this is the first place I come. Recently I worked with Tony in the fishing department on waders and he gave me excellent prices on great brands that are normally much more expensive other places. This is the second time he's giving me a recommendation on waders that will last more than a few seasons. That is a rare find alone!

Harvey in the dive shop is friendly and knowledgeable. We'll definitely be back!

I won t be spending any more money here. Was harassed about not wearing a mask after I stated that I have a health condition. Don t we know this our rights to have to state our health conditions... good luck avoiding a law suit.

Surprising large and good selection hidden in the trees. Worth a look. Staff are hit and miss. Prices are a little steep

This is a one of a kind place in Pinellas County only. They have not only everything that covers every sport. They actually have the abililty to teach you how to use and play with each thing. They also have a firing place and sell guns of all types. You can get everything from shoes to hats. And boats to diving equipment, paddle boards, and all fishing gear. This is truly a lat of its kind in Florida and its right here in Pinellas on 49th Street and free to all who visit. So come on in and take care of those that take care of us!!!!!

They have an indoor pistol range that is climate controlled. Best part, no range Nazi. They treat you like an adult and check every now and then.

The employees are the best part of this place. My daughter and i bought ammo from here once. She was only 6 at the time. She took the box of ammo to the counter and asked "Can i have this? It has an eagle and that means MERICA!" They laughed so hard.

I love picking up all my camping and backpacking gear here. They are all experienced and I like how personable the staff is. The selection is great. Every purchase for a backpacker is so specific they will help you. Chances are but theyve been where your going.

Great selection. Problem is that the staff are completely rude and disrespectful. Each employee in the gun room makes their own rules on what ammunition and parts you can buy. There is no set standard rules. Always tell myself I ll never go back there but always get sucked back in

I grew up going to Bill Jackson's and as an outdoor enthusiast, I was excited to start shopping there again when I recently moved back to the tampa area. I'm sad to say that this place has really GONE DOWNHILL in recent years. I've been there several times in the past year and I left each time feeling UPSET and INSULTED by their rude staff.

These people are incredibly STINGY. They are OVER-PRICED and their SHADY return policy makes this very apparent. Each time I've gone there I overhear the staff something about them having trouble because of their online competition. I really don't care about their money woes, but this is not the way to be competitive. I would definitely be weary of servicing my scuba gear there in concern of them cutting corners to save money. I'll be taking my business elsewhere going forward

If you go for the range, they reserve ammo for those who use it; but no ear and eye protection except for the overpriced stuff you can buy yourself. Always professional, but unable to accommodate casual gun owners at this time.

The staff gave attention to me as I hunted for Black powder gun part. We could not find the part. But I went out and returned and found the part but not located with other parts. So glad they had the part.

This is the coolest outdoor store! Driving in through the pine tree lined parking makes me feel like I'm about to go camping rather than shopping and totally sets the mood to get dirty. Though I usually leave feeling like I need to earn more money to buy more gear each time I visit, I love how this place is fully stocked with the items I need in preparation for each adventure I take.

This place is the best outdoor store in the area! They always have the gear I'm looking for... and on my last Appalachian Trail hike, their prices were better than Amazon's prices. The people are somewhat helpful, though interaction feels a bit forced and sort of awkward if you need help.

Nice Full service center for many sports and have good selection of Scuba Accessories that an Instructor Trainer like Myself need from Time to Time short notice Scuba Diving needs.

Came for snow skiing lessons for my kids. Outstanding. They were skiing within 40 min. Worth every bit of $49 each for the hour. Do this and skip the failure of ski school at the resort.

Love that I can shoot on their handgun range with unlimited time. I can take my time and really practice basics.

I must say..these are the most knowledgeable, most friendly and most understanding group of people I ve ever come across. Here is situation: I have never been on a serious camping trip before and this was my first time buying a tent I bought the MSR elixir 2 tent after reading such wonderful reviews. It turns out it had a small hole in it. Now me having never been on a serious camping trip was afraid that if it started to rain it might make my experience quite bitter. So I headed back to the store and I got there right at 6:01 PM and they were still able to help me out. They exchanged the tent and even made sure the new tent had no defects. Not only do they have the most versatile camping equipment but the most kindest and most understanding staff. Just alone for the customer service I would ve given this a 10 star review if Google would let me. And of course they have everything else that you need camping wise.

**Gun Store Review** Knowledgeable staff, that's patient and seem to want to put the right gun in your hands, not a gun in your hands right now. They don't seem to be the type that will balk at a particular cartage, but will give you their opinion of it. Prices are fair for a brick and mortar. Range rules are fair..I do appreciate the no Russian ammo rule (that stuff is kinda filthy). Went in to buy a gun I saw on sale online while they didn't have it marked at the sale price I inquired about they made their best effort to honor it through getting a manager. I showed them the deal on my phone just to reassure them I wasin't trying to jerk them around and he honored it. I really appreciate that, also got a free 30 day range pass with the purchase of my firearm. Great place to be honest. Also, 4pm on a monday..4 employees in their gun department alone. That's customer service, and that's why you pay a premium for their wares, honestly I don't have a problem with that.

Love this place! Has anything outdoors you can possibly want! From skiing to rock climbing, fishing, kayaking, guns, scuba diving and camping.The other thing is it s all high end stuff so you know your getting the best of the best. Staff there is always willing to help you with whatever questions you have. Awesome family owned business with a lot of Florida history!

A little pricey but it's worth it. This a long time family business. If you are looking for camping items you will find them there. Fishing, hicking, scuba diving and even skiing. I have to mention that they have a nice scuba pool of you would like to get certified and a gun shop with rang.

I've been going there for about 15 years. I also have been to the other ranges in the area. I keep going back to Jackson's. At B. J.s Im asked "May I help you? " At other places, it was more like "You Gotta get this." I like a staff that is helpful, but not pushy. In my case, I purchased the 3 month Range Pass. They only have 6 lanes, so I stay away on weekends when they have classes, and I practice early on workdays. "Works For Me.".

A Tampa Bay outdoorsperson's gem still nestled in the woods, somehow! SUPs, kayaks, surfskis, fishing, diving, shooting, camping and more, plus the accessories needed to get all that new gear where you want to take it! My Thule roof rack was installed as courtesy. Great service.

One stop shop for outdoors..can be alil pricey but def getting quality. The coolest thing to me was the parking lot. Gun range and classes..hunting everything.. Even that new motorized surf board

This place is really great for outdoor activities. They have so much stuff to look at and all of their staff is so knowledgeable and helpful. They allow you to test some of the equipment before you buy it so that you have peace of mind knowing you got the right product. Great place all around!!

From the moment you drive in, you are transported to the wild. I love just driving in.
However, once inside, you can spend an entire day and still not see everything....I learn a lot from the Pro's in the Gun Shop and even when I am looking for a mug, these employees are detailed, with superb customer service and relations.
You have to experience it for yourself, it's a must for any outdoor enthusiast.

Only place I will shop for anything gun related. Staff is extremely knowledgeable with all firearms. Came by to build a AR Pistol and had many questions and concerns and mike walked me through all of my questions and never pressured me to buy anything. Can t recommend this place enough 10-10 for sure.

The staff at Bill Jackson's is extremely knowledgeable in every department. Each employee is an expert in, at least, their department and maybe another, as well. Kayaks, shooting, hiking, diving, climbing, skiing, they have it all.

The customer service at Bill Jackson s was the best I have ever had in my 70 years. I purchased a kayak there and Robin and the team spent over 2 hours with me, teaching me about kayak details, assembling and mounting my Thule saddles, practicing my loading and unloading of the kayak on my roof. I even took it out in the pond behind their property before buying. Most of all, they were professional and patient throughout this entire process. I even learned how to tie a few knots. Robin was awesome but the whole team was exceptional. Highly recommend!!!

The family and I stopped in to window shop as waiting for a family vet visit in clearwater, We'll was blown away by the courtesy and attention Also stepson was given a free P38. Thank you Bill Jacksons, We will be back. Camping is soon lol

I haven't been there in years but I came back with my son to buy his new gun. Waiting for his background check, I was taken back and how good there gun area is. I bought several items for my weapons that have been out in a lot of other gun stores. I will definitely be back.

Whether you like or love adventure, this is the store. The selection of top quality items can be found no where in this area. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Lose one star for overpriced merchandise. This store has what you need for outdoors and shooting sports though. Showroom the stuff you want to buy, then order from Amazon; it's what all the cool kids are doing. Parking is amongst pine trees, along a narrow, serpentine road, so watch out while backing.

When you need high quality outdoor gear, this is the place to go. It should be labeled a tourist attraction for all the fun things they sell. If I ever hit the lottery, this will be my first stop.

Here's how I would describe Bill Jackson's...imagine a big box sporting goods store, now take away any low quality items, get rid of the fad products that are just marketed to separate a fool and his money, remove any unknowledgeable or unhelpful associates...what you are left with is Bill Jackson's. They have everything you need for outdoor recreation, nothing you don't. They also have an excellent staff that can point you in the right direction. I was gearing up for a hiking/camping excursion and was told to go to Bill Jackson's. I had seen some of the prices and thought I would just order what I needed on Amazon. The staff there was able to put me in the equipment I needed, showed me what I did not need (which is just as important when you have to carry everything for a trip like that on your back) and all in all I saved money over what I had originally budgeted. Not only that, but the products they carry are of a quality that, even after some hard use, I still have everything I purchased, and it's all in good working order. I can not recommend enough!

I really hope Bill Jacksons reads these reviews. After having excellent customer service on Feb 11th buying a pricey Desert Eagle 50 in your gun shop, I ventured back in today to purchase ammo and had the rudest ass of a salesman behind the gun counter, trying to sell me HP bullets for the gun range and telling me good luck finding ammo they don't make it! Condescending as hell! This is why people don't buy from Shoot Straight! He didn't know I just spent over 2k on a gun a few days earlier, but that shouldn't matter should it!

Wide selection of outdoor stuff. Be prepared for higher prices but the staff is very knowledgeable.
