We were there last evening by pontoon and had an awesome family dinner outside on the patio. Great service! Food was awesome!

I visit my mother's place on Big Sandy. The view of the lake here is great. The lodge staff is wonderful. We really enjoy coming up here.

The checkout time was 10am which is too....early for the families with children and the check in was 4pm which is two late in the day!!! Also there was dog poop all over the beach and dock areas.

We were staying at a house on the lake but we would drive the boat over to this resort to eat and hangout. They have a solid selection of food, which was well-prepared. They have a nice beer selection which was a nice surprise. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

We usually come for the view of the lake while dining, food and service is usually average at best.

I was here a few years ago and I wasnt that impressed but they redid there menu and the food is incredible. I highly recommend the BBQ Poutine.

I wish we could give half stars because I'd give 4.5 if i could. Best food by far in the area imo. Friendly waitress, experienced a better than average experience with her.. Had a problem with a missing cue ball while trying to play pool but enjoyed a nice game with my mom once it was situated. Also loved the view of the lake while eating!

I did notice some inattentiveness at the front desk and disinterest by another girl on staff as other reviewers observed but nothing that effected my personal experience.

Big fan of the steak sandwich and walleye sandwich!

Food was good but cold. I don't think they had enough staff for Mother's day brunch. Beautiful scenery of Big Sandy Lake.

the bar tender is a dick, (some young white d bag looking guy) so if you fell like being belittled and talked down to go here!

Do you enjoy waking up at 7am on vacation? Big Sandy Lodge does not have black out curtains!!!! Instead they have white blinds that are so cheap they re glowing at night. It s the middle of the night and the only thing I can see clearly in this room is the blinds. They don t stop any light at all. I have to sleep with a T-shirt covering my face because it s blinding at 7am. But the front desk is sorry, even though they offer nothing. No sleep mask, no help if any kind. 3 star hotel?! More like 1/2 motel. I can t be the first person to address them about this. At this point they just don t care.

Beautiful resort! Friendly staff were very helpful. We lost power for a few hours and they checked in with us quickly and often to make sure we were updated on the situation. Didn't eat in the restaurant but the bar was nice and drinks were good. Great place for a group or for families!

Love the Lodge! Great meal, excellent service. I had an amazing Mother's Day meal!

Burgers were cooked perfectly and the pasta dish was spicy and very good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The view is awesome as well.

We don't get up to Big Sandy very often but we will be back next time through.

Very polite and helpful staff. Townhouse was great. Fun family vacation. Only complaint, (no star loss) toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags were only supplied for 2 days. Why be cheap for such a small item?

We found big sandy resort a couple of years ago, and talk about a diamond in the rough! All of these places talk about great experiences, but there is no one better then this resort! Amazing places to stay, such as the villas, they are top of the line! They also have a great bar right at the resort! And outdoor and indoor water entertainment for kids, it doesn t get any better! If you are looking for a place to stay that will accommodate the whole family (fishers, kids, swimmers, people wanting to relax), this is the spot to be!

Went for a Friday night fish fry absolutely fantastic

We went there for a nice supper and we could have cooked better food at home. It's too bad because we love eating out

Attended the beautiful wedding of a lovely couple there. Such a pretty setting! We want to go back and stay sometime!

Clean up north vibe and has great service. The staff always tries to do what is best for you the customer, they have a great attitude.

"Kid eats free with paid adult dinner" is what the sign for the Special offer on Wednesday should of said.Instead in it says" Kids eat Free with paid adult dinner". Also with the kids meal ,it only included water as beverage.The Dinner didn't include any salad side. Very disappointed with the over all experience.

Relaxing place to stay with the family needs to update a few things to make it handicap accessible concrete out front needs to be leveled front door needs to have a handicap button

Great facilities, perfect for any family function. Houses don't have a ton of privacy.

This is still an up-north secret, but the secret is getting out! We held our daughter's wedding in June here, and the staff, owners, and facilities were fantastic! Our guests, including in-state folks, thought that the lodge, townhomes, bar, food, etc. were all first-class. We can't say enough about how our family was given the "VIP" treatment and special attention to all details that a wedding requires to be successful - hats' off to owners Elisa and Don, and managers Tiffany, Emily, Audra, Richard, and Carey. Love this place. Good food and a great family atmosphere. Love all the kid friendly activities. Will for sure go back!

Food was alright at most and didn't come out for 30 minutes, but it was a busy night at the resort and our server was amazing, even while juggling multiple tables.

Poor beer selection. Did not know how to make an old fashioned 3 years ago when I came and they still don't. Need to take out a mortgage for an order of meatless nachos and the came out tasting like they were either microwaved or stale.

Stayed at the lodge. Great place. Large area. Clean and enjoyable!

The salad was good but the hamburgers I would not give to my dog my brother could not eat his.

Things we loved, the lake, the bar, the breakfast and a boat rental. Wished we owned a cabin on this lake. While we were at the bar we were amazed at how many single ladies were there to see Chris the bartender. He has a great sense of humor!

Dinner with lake views, perfect for the family. Everyone had good food.

The view from our room was amazing. beyond that, the room was tiny for 120$ a night, it was right above the bar a noisy at all times, and though there is a warning online. When we called to book it they gave us no such warning. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever laid in and it was so loud you couldn't move on it with out the headboard and frame making a bunch of noise. Thanks fully our second night there we paired until 2am, so at least when we got back the car below was quite.

Perhaps the big lodges are nice, the the hotel rooms were unenjoyable.

Great staff and wonderful accommodations, would highly recommend for large group events or for a family retreat!

I give this "lodge" zero stars. Here is why:
1. I asked for the least expensive room...for one person, for one night. O.K. The receptionist assured me there was a window, but no view - thus the low price. That was o.k. with me. When I got to the room, it was so hot and stuffy it was unbearable. The window opened onto the roof with all the air-conditioning equipment, and whatever whirring noisily away....very loudly. An eyesore and a noise issue. I returned to the desk and of course, she had another room (there were very few people staying at the place that night), for $5 more. She should have told me about the first room, and then asked if I was interested in the second one before I had to go up and down the stairs 3 or 4 times.
2. I went to have dinner on the patio, which is quite nice. The surly waitress came over and said, "What can I getcha?" No hello, no nothing. I said a menu would be nice to begin. Of course, first question is what do I want to drink, so I ordered that. She returned with the menu, no water, and no words. It took forever to order. She brought my food eventually, with no salt/pepper/water...nothing. And again, she had not one nice word to say. Horrible service.
3. When I got to the patio, I tried to get my wi-fi working. No luck. So I asked the server to help me. She grumpily told me she didn't know anything about it, but took the slip with the information on it. She came back, and said she had asked the other servers to check it out, and that it worked for them. No other suggestions, or offer to help.
4. I went back to the desk, and she was able to help me with the wi-fi. No apologies whatsoever, so far.
5. I went to my room and turned on the light. There was one bulb in an overhead ceiling light, which barely illuminated the room. No lamp on the bedside tables. So I went downstairs again, and asked for a table lamp. The receptionist came up and began searching for one. No apology. It took her forever to find one, and then to plug it in.
6. The phone and table were covered with dust.
7. The sheets were the absolute cheapest fabric possible. The bottom sheet was some kind of flannel, which was pilly and rough. The top sheep was thin and rough. The pillow cases were rough, and even chafed my face.
8. The bed rocked and banged against the wall every time I moved.
9. No coffee in the room; only two plastic glasses by the TV - none in the bathroom; the towels in the bathroom were thin and scratchy....everything was totally cheap and icky.

I will NEVER go here again, and will not recommend this underserved, rude and so less than gracious place. I was appalled at the whole situation.

Sweet place on the lake to eat out. Good food. Cool patio

My family and I have been coming here practically all of my life. We've stayed in the lodge rooms, condos, and in the condos on the golf course. All of the locations are absolutely beautiful, very clean, and perfect for a nice get away. The staff at the lodge are always so kind and helpful!

We placed our order at their restaurant and 50 minutes later the server said the food was still gonna take a while! Their wasn t even that many people there... the server did not stop by our table for at least 20 minutes to give us an update.

No apologie and worst of all the server said I didn t know until just now( 50 minutes) that the kitchen was gonna be so slammed.

Nice place to sit and have a drink while watching the sunset over the lake. Sports-bar food.

Nice place to stay with comfortable rooms. There is a lake for swimming or boating, and the whole resort looks great.

Nice set up but Mosquitos were bad & the swim area was taken over by children using foul language. Not much of a family atmosphere.

The service was fast and friendly. I ate The Breakfast Burger. Delicious.

Great food, terrible service! Used to be top notch on both, maybe my tribe will get the right people in here soon! Been coming here since it opened and never had a problem before, give it one more chance next year and will see.......

This place is beautiful!!! Great staff, they will do everything to make your stay as relaxing and fun as they can. Right on the water, food, drinks, cozy rooms. What more could you want.

We had a girl's weekend. Four of us in a 5 bedroom villa. Check-in was easy, staff was friendly, villa was very clean with high-end appliances, relaxing, comfortable and quiet. It was exactly what we needed!

Great patio, service, and food. Hung out here after a day of golf. Great way to wind down.

Excellent food and friendly service. Beautiful lakeside views. Also great for private/semi-private events! The staff is flexible, friendly and accommodating.

Had a 5 star experience bringing a group golf trip to Minnesota National and Big Sandy. Was beyond impressed with the quality of the golf, lodging and food. Can't wait to come back.

I haven't stayed the night here, but the food is great and has great ice cream.

Beautifully kept grounds and buildings. Indoor pool n.j hot tub and sauna. Clean rooms. Lake is just behind the lodge with a nice little beach.

Hats off to Big Sandy Lodge! Our daughter and new son-in-law were married last weekend. We had lots of friends and family in town for the weekend - many stayed at Big Sandy Lodge, including us. We rented two cabins, all the lodge rooms and another townhouse or two. The groom's dinner was also held at Big Sandy Lodge and all went very well. The food was great, service very good and everyone had a great time! A big thank you to Tiffany and your staff for helping us and answering all kinds of questions!
