Big Sandy Lodge & Resort Review

The pasta looked like it had been sitting out for a while. Especially on the lobster mac my friend bought. Kind of disappointing for the $21 price.

The atmosphere out on the patio was great. Great poutine and decent burgers. Beer selection was a bit limited but there were good options. Overall, one of the better spots to eat on Big Sandy.

Went to eat here. They were nice and there was love music. Will go back to stay for a weekend! Beautiful Lake!!

Been 3 times and all 3 times the food was terrible. 1st visit we had slimy chicken wings. The second time raw potatoes. The 3rd was grey steak. Not impressed

We ate in the restaurant on "Burger night", the burger was excellent and it comes with fries also nicely done. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive.

What a gorgeous lodge in a beautiful area and the food was wonderful, the wait staff was super and the view can't be beat

Review is for restaurant only. Twice now in a row we've been there with slowwwwww service. Once the food arrives it's fine and tastes great but both times we waited for about an hour for 4 or 5 dinners with a dining room that wasn't even halfway full. Not ideal.

Edit: visits were a month apart and the 2nd visit was honestly slower than the first. Not sure why it's taking staff a month+ to speed up. I'm sure we'll be back sometime next year. Hopefully that'll be enough time for them to learn the menu..

Food and drinks are great. Love the outdoor seating and the live music.

Absolutely gorgeous resort and even better lake and scenery

Extremely disappointed with the lodge, I had ordered a top sirloin which is a 23 dollar plate. I asked for a medium steak and when I got my plate I cut into my steak and it was extremely well done. So while waiting for my server to come back I had tried to eat the sides on my plate and the veggies were cold. The only thing good out of my plate was the potatoes. I has asked for a new steak, and when I got it they gave me a whole new plate with the veggies and potatoes. And when she asked me to cut into it to make sure it was right it was still well done, then I was told to cut into the middle of the steak and it was medium well but still a lot closer to a well done steak, I told her that it was still not medium and she said that it was. So I just said don t worry about it and she walked away without saying anything so I forced down my steak, and my veggies were still cold on the second place that I was given.

Views were beautiful, I was there for a wedding, and would definitely recommend you to celebrate there!

Ordered the Patty Melt, the hamburger was so raw it was cold in the middle. Didnt eat it. They refused to take it off the bill.

We go here often for events, food, and drinks! Breakfast is stellar! Drinks are always great! And don t forget to get some pull tabs!

I liked it here. Very cozy environment and good view of the lake. Good experience overall. I'd go back.

We rented a pontoon boat here. The boat was in good working order. They helped get us going and everything was fun. They also allowed us to bring our dog on the boat.

Loved vacationing there so much we bought a town house

Drinks were great, also ordered dessert and it was fantastic.

Great food, great staff! Gorgeous views while dinning. If you're not fishing there's plenty of water toys to just hang around on the beach!

Never again! I stayed one night at Big Sandy, I asked for a room facing the lake and paid a premium for it. The room was located above the restaurant/bar deck, super noisy with chatter and music. I went down to the front desk and asked for another room, they gave me a room on the same floor facing the roof filled with air vents - more noise, the room had a terrible odor and opening the window was out of the question. I decided to return to the first room. Very noisy, when the crowd died down at the restaurant/bar then people started a camp fire very near the room so window had to stay closed. The room had a dog or chemical smell and no chair. The bathroom had a pedestal sink, no place to put items. Terrible experience, I was grateful it was just for a night.

Great wait staff, nice option on the lake. Always welcoming. Support the lake businesses.

I loved our server for brunch, we sat in the patio and it was beautiful

Stopped by for Halloween and all the villas were out giving candy to the kids. It was very nice to see them do a great thing for the kids. They also had fire truck in the parking lot which was a big hit.

We come to town for work and stay over night. First time we stayed at the Country Meadows Inn..... NEVER again. I didn't even want to sit on the bed.
The next week we came back and I found Big Sandy. I figured we'd try it being options around here are slim. I am so happy with our stay. Clean, comfy and very accomodating and friendly staff! Plus the veiw is beautiful!!! We are in town again now for our 3 stay. And will continue to choose Big Sandy until all our contracts are complete.

We stayed for my wedding. The whole deal was 400. Reception and Ceremony. But the venue had the air of a $3k-4k venue. It was incredibly northwoodsy. Which was everything we were after. The bartenders only could do the simple drinks but meh. The staff was all super helpful and accomodating. It was well worth the money.
