If Kenyari is still employed with Big Brothers/Sisters, I would like to let her know how she totally botched a couple of Big Brother relationships in the Shakopee area that she managed several years ago.

About Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities is a non-profit organization that has been serving the community for over 100 years. The organization's mission is to provide young people with caring adult mentors who can help them achieve their full potential and become successful adults. BBBS Twin Cities matches volunteers, known as "Bigs," with children and teenagers, known as "Littles," to create supportive, long-lasting, and life-changing relationships.

The organization believes that every child deserves a positive role model in their life who can offer guidance, support, and encouragement. By matching Littles with Bigs who share similar interests and personalities, BBBS Twin Cities creates meaningful connections that can last a lifetime. The program is designed to help children develop self-confidence, improve academic performance, build social skills, and make positive choices.

BBBS Twin Cities offers several programs to meet the needs of different age groups and backgrounds. The Community-Based Mentoring Program matches Littles with Bigs who spend time together in the community doing activities they both enjoy. This program is ideal for children between the ages of 7-18 who live in the Greater Twin Cities area.

The School-Based Mentoring Program pairs Littles with Bigs who visit them at school during lunch or after school hours. This program is perfect for children who may not have access to transportation or whose parents work during traditional mentoring hours.

BBBS Twin Cities also offers specialized mentoring programs such as Mentor 2.0 which focuses on college readiness for high school students; Beyond School Walls which connects youth with corporate professionals; Amachi which serves youth impacted by parental incarceration; Youth Outdoors which provides outdoor experiences for urban youth; and more.

The impact of BBBS Twin Cities' mentoring programs has been significant over the years. According to research conducted by Public/Private Ventures (P/PV), young people involved in BBBS mentoring programs are:

• 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs
• 27% less likely to begin using alcohol
• 52% less likely than their peers to skip school
• 37% less likely than their peers to skip class

In addition, P/PV found that mentored youth were more confident in their academic abilities and had better relationships with family members than non-mentored youth.

BBBS Twin Cities relies on donations from individuals and corporations alike so they can continue providing quality mentorship services free-of-charge throughout Minnesota's largest metropolitan area - Minneapolis-Saint Paul region - where it operates today.

In conclusion,
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities has been making a difference in young people's lives since its inception over 100 years ago by providing caring adult mentors through various programs tailored towards different age groups' needs.
Their commitment towards creating supportive long-lasting relationships between bigs & littles has helped many kids develop self-confidence while improving academic performance & building social skills.
Their impact on society cannot be overstated as research shows mentored youths are less likely than non-mentored ones when it comes down drug use/alcohol consumption/skipping classes/school altogether.
If you're looking forward towards making an impact on someone's life positively while giving back something meaningful into your community? Then consider volunteering or donating today!
