Rented a room for one night and paid nearly $300 for an "ocean view". The room was on the side of the building with minimal view of the ocean. The rooms are big but now microwave. Shower walls have mildew where the tile and the tub meet . Rented a room for 4 and they gave us 2 towels. Shower barely had hot water. Shower at the beach didn't work. Staff was super nice and helpful. Best Western, you need to renovate these rooms!
The view was amazing. The staff was lovely. The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a tad dirty and there was only one towel. They didnt have many towels to spare so we washed the pool towels for bathing
As a retired convention planner selecting 5-star resorts and hotels for insurance company senior management conventions/meetings, and now not on an expense account, I find this Ormond Beach, FL Best Western to have nice facilities, comfortable beds, very friendly/helpful staff, good rates, free parking, free hot/cold nice breakfast, great location. I don't always need a fancy large lobby to pay for as I don't sleep in the lobby, normally. It's a nice, friendly, affordable beach hotel. I give it a good 3 stars, 8.2 rating, and 10 stars for the staff.
Honesty & Integrity this Hotel has it! I recommended this Hotel to my Aunt who came in for a family situation. The staff was pleasant and rooms were clean. My Aunt left $600 cash under the mattress when she went out one evening ( why she put it there?) and forgot about it. She checked out and before we got to our destination they were on the phone calling her to come get her money. Wow! We can t thank the staff enough for their honesty. I would definitely recommend this Hotel if you plan to vacation in Ormond Beach. This Oceanfront Hotel is a jewel.
My family has been staying at the Ormond Beach Castillo Del Sol for YEARS! We have come so much that we know staff by name, as well as them knowing ours. It's only about an hour and a half away from home, so it's a nice weekend getaway spot. It has always been our favorite hotel to go to in Ormond/Daytona. It is a decent hotels for the price they use to offer it for. As the years have gone by, the hotel has gotten more and more expensive. It is absolutely NOT worth over $300 a night. I am very disappointed to say that it's no longer affordable to be able to come stay like we use to. I would rethink the overpriced nightly stays. After all, it is only a Best Western. I feel you will continue to lose more loyal customers.
This was one of the worst hotels I have stayed in in years. The ONLY thing that this place has is a view. After paying almost $1500.00 for the week the 1 elevator was broke the whole week. Almost half the room's look like they have been broken into. We had to hunt down house keepers for washrags because the front desk said they didn't have any. They had to order more and then the house keeper got smart with my mother and told her no she had to go to get them from the front desk after they told us to ask the housekeeper. This place is absolutely ridiculous and if you have a chance stay somewhere else. I would give this zero stars if I could. NEVER AGAIN
This was our first time staying here. It was very last minute on Mother s Day weekend. They are short staff BUT the staff they have worked very hard and was amazing. We didn t have a microwave in our room and they made sure they got us one right away. Brittany at the front desk was great and a gentleman that was also great! The only thing I can suggest is making sure you ask for extra towels & sheets since they don t clean the room while you are in it. It will save you a trip in advance
Loved the staff and room the house keeper was so much fun and so nice I wish I remembered her name she deserves to be named in a review as amazing as she was great pool and great food
Where do I begin? This was by far the nastiest place ever. If you prefer cleanliness and an overall feeling of safeness, DO NOT STAY HERE! In the first room (420) there was a roach on the bed as soon as we walked in. We immediately decided to leave but wanted to use the restroom first...more roaches all over the bathroom floor. The nice desk attendant gave us another room but went to check it for cleanliness first and it was dirty although had been marked clean. She went through 2 more rooms before finding a clean one. The upgrade to ocean front at this point was free and it was 11 at night so we took it. There should be no expectancy of hot water after about 9pm ish. The elevator was disgusting. The floors were dirty and overall it is run down. Breakfast is toast and whatever meat selection the lady gives you for that specific day. Good luck. Listening to the waves as I slept was nice but I'd rather pay more money for quality.
We will not be staying here again, ever. Room was not ready, upon 330pm arrival. I had to go back to the desk to get towels, which we're thrown in a plastic bag. Housekeeping left the window, in the shower slightly open, allowing the sunlight to shine in through a hole cut into the window sill, which leads to the main walk way outside the door (peek hole into the shower) Pubic hair on bathroom floor, upon arrival. Roaches in the fridge. No microwave, plenty of room to have one but, no. There is also, not a communal microwave available. Worst experience in all of our travels. I will say, they at least have decent pillows.
