I was recommended to this Club for Hydrotherapy as I have medical conditions that restrict me from attending Physical Therapy. The Staff and Therapist are both very helpful and professional. They do have lockers and provide Physical Therapy sessions as well.

Worst experience ever. The coaches let the kids do forward or backward, but never showed them how the arms and legs move in the water. For the beginners, it's just a place wasting time and wasting money. My girl was so scared to stay in the water because the coaches force her to do something she was not comfortable with. After 2 month learning, my girl is scared of water and do not want to learn swimming any more.
Leonardo My son attended the intensive course dinuna week in July with friends. Wi fi access throughout la.struttura adjoining there is a shop where you buy Articles made speedo or food The teachers are very nice and cute and appear prepared.
Top notch facility for serious swimmers. 10 Olympic sized lanes and room for 21? going width wise. Place is clean, new and water does not appear to be overly chlorinated lke many indoor pools. Bleacher seating for events and a large scoreboard.
The swimming team is fine, but their accounting system sucks!!! There was a mistake on my bill. I emailed the relative recipients based on the instruction in the email I received. No response at all. I tried to contact the coach, the accounting personnel, in person and through email. Nobody is responsible for the issue. And they are charging me late fee!
Unfriendly and Unprofessional environment. My ten-year-old was terrified with one of the instructors - Jake at the Berkeley swim school. The director - Towney Brewster is rude and has a lack of customer service skills. This director doesn't care about the safety of the children...SAD. There are better places in the area - The Connection.
BAC has provided my swimmers a place to grow as athletes. It has also provided them with a team atmosphere in a generally individual sport. The facility offers a 50 meter pool, dryland space, and a yoga studio.
We're have two kids swimming so we are always going to meets. This place is generally the worse one we visit. The price is double to attend as a parent. If you have two sessions in the same day they will charge you twice. There's barely any stands to sit. The little that they do have are uncomfortable with limited view of the score board. Also lots of seats are not accessible due to dripping water from the roof/ceiling or pipe condensation. Not great place and its a shame since its pretty new.
Unfortunately, DO NOT RECOMMEND - very rigid-minded business practices and customer service. Manager is clearly overwhelmed and confused. Just lost $180 to them for no apparent reason. Signed up 2 kids, going their for the first time. Had no opportunity to pre-test kids for the appropriate level, despite multiple calls, messages and emails to the administration (got a phone call back with incomprehensible message, finishing with to "see everything online"). When one of my kids apparently was signed up for the wrong class with no options for the correct class that semester due to timing availability (working mom here, who needs to coordinate schedules of both kids), they did not allow for a credit of the fully prepaid wrong class charges that I could use for further classes, and was refunded only 75% of the pretty large charge. No amount of begging that it was my first time and I had no opportunity to pre-test my children mattered. Seeing I won't be able to have my kids learning in such an environment, had to take both kids out. Young instructors seem nice, while pool and changing area are very sub-par. Look for another place... - Alena
This is an excellent place for a drop in lap swim: vey nice pool, appeared to be relatively clean an well maintained, not crowded at 10am on Monday. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Pay $8 in the basket - talk to the lifeguard. Note that the locker rooms are clean, but spartan - bring your own lock, towel, and shampoo/body wash. I ll definitely be back the next time I m in the area.
My son joined them 1 year ago, it was good experience before this Summer, but more of the good coaches left now. The coachs teach little kids group lesson are impatient, some of them just stand by the pool for the whole lesson, never get wet, not sure how much these little kids can learn from the coach. The office in-charge staff was rude, he even yelled at a parent to get out of the pool area, did they have the basic training? Really concern the environment is kids friendly, I don't feel comfortable to take my little one there again. Have to find another better swimming club, really miss the "old" BAC.
Great pool to swim in when traveling for swim meets. Water feels fast and the equipment is kept up to date. Only complaint is that the warm down pool is colder than the 50m pool.
Not a great school for young swimmmers. Inconsistent staff, imbalanced student to teacher ratio. The dressing area for the young swimmers is a joke. Very limited space to dress, unclean conditions. It's a shame - the building, pools and parking are nice but I would recommend the Connection as a better alternative for young swimmers younger than 13 years of age.
The one star is for the staff and their behavior during the meets held this past weekend. The woman who collected the money was extremely rude to many spectators including my mother (68 years old) and myself. The 'safety marshalls' acted like wannabe FBI agents. The Speedo store is ridiculously overpriced. They charge more than any other facility with nothing to offer parents but stale chips from a broken down vending machine. Just an awful experience. The facility is just okay...nothing to brag about! And, I was not the only person who felt this way.
Good space on deck for large events, decent spectator seating, but not full length of pool. Several condensate drips into the stands, heads up! Ample seating and food/drink adjacent to the spectator areas. Pool lighting is dim, air quality is good, but water was a little fogged, but not really bad.
Agree. Unprofessional and unfriendly. Do not have your child work here lifeguarding. They are not treated fairly nor as an adult. If you inquire about something, they reply treating them like a little kid. They are young adults and they deserve the same courtesy.
The best competitive pool and team in the area. World-class facility and coaches. Three (3) pools and numerous programs for anyone learning to swim, to competing for Olympics tryouts.
2020 edit: in decline under new coaching regime and new management
Quite a nice swim facility (old Panasonic office for those of you familiar with the area). We've been multiple times as parents of swimmers on visiting teams. The competition pool is top notch.
Pretty uncomfortable plastic on bleacher setup in the stands, but there's a good amount of space. Clean enough. Comfortable temperature in the stands unlike most other facilities. Downside: condensation on ceiling drips all over spectators, seemingly regardless of the time of year.
Rude volunteers (parents of Berkley Aquatic Club swimmers) Every time we've been there, the volunteers assigned to work the ticket table have been pretty abrupt, bordering on rude. Definitely on a power trip and turn their noses up at visiting parents. It's unfortunate, but this detracts from an otherwise pleasant experience.
Great team, place is big and has other activities in the building, so it can get confusing for new members. I was thinking the same when i joined. Now that my son has 2 years of swimming behind him i don't focus on that. This place has great coaching team plus friendly stuff that is helpful specially when kids go to school and get sick and you need to reschedule. Thank You guys for great Job, standing in the water 1/2 day is not fun, plus teaching young people that sometimes are afraid and then also trying to make parents happy is achievement by itself. Kids actually enjoy going there because the pool is 3-4 feet deep so they are not afraid like in other places where they only go in water on coaches arms (3 kids in 30 minutes-each kid 10 min), here they get 30 min for each at the same time- which is enough for little kids, bigger kids get more time and so on.
It's a very nice facility for swim training and meets. Nice 50m pool, exercise rooms, lounge. Big screens with live feed from the pool. Staff is always friendly and helpful. One downside is that there are no bathrooms with baby changing station, so plan accordingly if you are bringing a baby.
Yee yerning was farther than thin as we traversed steady mast. She, thy queen, chopped water, sweet drink. Howst though, I was thrown nonetheless , maybe by it's beauty, but I harled into the water and found myself gathered in comradeship and greatness, swim like thy Olympian members, onward high
Went here from a recommendation and my oldest child learned to swim quickly and loved it. Sent my youngest here in hope of a similar experience but received the opposite. Her instructor was out so they had a substitute. My wife left the pool area as is their policy and she came back to my daughter historical. No one came out to get her - it was the end of the lesson. It took my daughter an hour to calm down where she said the instructor threw her into the pool twice. That the water was in her nose and she was coughing and the instructor threw her in again. She just turned four and this was beginner lessons. My wife called when she got home and the manager apologized and said she was not in the pool area when it happened. It s been six months and my daughter still talks about it. Traumatized.
Watch your kids! Do not leave the pool area because no one is watching. This place is a tragedy in the making.
This facility is a sport complex, I've been wrong on my experience. When I think about real sport clubs, it is like yours. Sorry I made up my experience...
The school is excellent, but my 3.5 yo did not have a good experience. I signed her up for one week of lessons in the Summer, she was eager to go. Starting day 1 she was excited to go into the pool, no separation anxiety. She was leading me to the pool and saying "this is my pool". The only problem was that the water was too cold for her. After a while she would freeze and start crying. Progressively each day she was more and more discouraged, and the last day of the session she refused to go no matter what method I used to convince her. I spoke with the director numerous times regarding the issue. He assured me that the water is warm, and that it's 86 degrees. The water felt cool to the touch to me, not cold, but certainly nowhere near 86 degrees. We go recreationally to our community pool, and she loves it. She can stays neck-deep for at least half hour or more. It's a shame that we couldn't take advantage of this school, and lost money on the lessons.
Went to a swim meet, review as a spectator. Large pool, relatively clean, have individual plastic seats on bleachers. But small spectator area, leaky roof, obstructed view to the pool by large ductwork.
I don't know who coaches here since the founder of the club passed away, so I can't speak with any knowledge about the current leadership. I'd caution against the extreme rigor of this team and some of its tendencies towards becoming too insulated.
Went for 3 yr old swim class, the pool is heated, the instructor Serenity was great, but I gotta give only 3 stars because the changing room is just a large bathroom. No place to sit, the floor is soaking wet with large puddles.
This place is ridiculous in a good way. Went there for NJ masters 50x50 event. So many lanes. Perfect water temp. Nice facilities. Ample parking. Great event too
