Benihana Is always a good time great service and the food is amazing

The food is good but other than being seated late the manager Vlad has a bad attitude and was very nasty to me. Because of him I would never eat at this location

A must for me whenever I travel to USA. Consistent level of food quality. Service can be hit and miss

I have been to this establishment multiple times and have loved each experience. The food is delicious and the staff is great. The experience you get of having a show done in front of you is super fun. The community tables aren t too great but it s always fun to meet new people!

Fun place to go with family and friends. Excellent service. The chicken fried rice and filet mignon are top notch. Just wished that we had more legroom while we ate. 9 people to a table is way too much. Would be nice to have some wiggle room.

This place is great, but the drinks could be a little stronger

Wow I m so disappointed in this location! It has to be the worst location i have ever been to. I came here in hopes to treat myself to take out but instead they skimped my 5 course meal by giving me 2 shrimps, half a container of rice, soup broth (no soup) and they put my milkshake in 2 food containers telling me (after i paid) that they ran out of to go cups. I told them that i wanted a refund because how was i suppose to drink a milkshake on the go from plastic food containers. They then said they ll give me a refund but i had yet to receive it !! Instead i have been charged 50$ for a meal that didn t even satisfy me and a drink that i never had a chance to drink!! I recommend everyone to never order TO GO from here. Please save your time and money.

Fun for the first time, but really overcrowded and noisy.

Great food, good show, but the wait time is ridiculous (had to wait 45 minutes WITH a reservation).

Hibachi grill style food and lots of great food/drink options.

The food and drinks were good and the chef's skills were terrific. Prices have increased a bit

Had a reservation that was made months in advance. We arrived and they had overbooked in a big way. They said the wait would be 2 hours. How is that possible with a reservation?!? I would definitely think twice before going here given a reservation is worthless and there is no where to sit and wait for your table.

Wish I had listened to many of the other reviews. Arrived for an 830 reservation and was told our table would be available shortly. Checked in again at 845 and was told that there were 5 parties ahead of us. We then asked how that was possible and upon questioning it further, we were told that we can go have a seat, not entirely sure how they made that happen, but they did.

We sit down, and 2 minutes after we sat down, the waiter let us know that he needs to collect our drink and food order right then. Nobody was ready to order, but he insisted.

Finally, 45 minutes later, we got our food, but wanted to get some more food and drinks and were asked to do so at the bar because they had other parties waiting. There were 6 of us and we had spent close to $500 in a little under an hour and were being rushed off. Thus equating to the worst dining experience I have ever had in my life. Food was actually pretty good, but the service here is the worst I have ever experienced.

Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, NYC has too many good restaurants to be subjected to this.

I just ordered from them for lunch and my food looked horrible. No taste, food was overcooked especially rice. I can t even enjoy m meal on my lunch break. I have pictures for restaurant as well of what o was served.

Great entertainment. Great food. Perfect complete package for a special evening. Ramon is a great entertainer and knows how to entertain the guests in an amusing way.
The restaurant is a MUST if you are in NYC.

Really poor service! We left the restaurant hungry because our orders Just did not arrive.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always good and the service is always on point.

This is a place where you want to go if you just want to get out for the day it's a nice place if you like the food drinks are okay service is impeccable you would definitely enjoy yourself here.

Good dinner theatre with decent food. Nothing special. Because of its location reservations needed and due to the volume of guests it is quite loud in the dining areas.

You pay for what you get. It's not expensive nor cheap, but you will eat a vast amount of food with great flavor (not the best, but considering that the prices are not that high it's totally worth it)
My wife and I ordered an individual menu, two cocktails and one ice cream each one and the check was 120 before tip.

The service is extremely slow, restaurant is empty but we had to wait for 10 mins to be seated and once we got seated as if we are begging for a waiter to come for us. Also, Chefs are in one private room and the door was a bit open so i saw that they are laid back.

Now i know why it s an empty restaurant, i think because of the service. You need to do better.

We had a reservation and still had to wait 35 mins. After, when we finally got to sit down I ordered the same drink I had when sitting at the bar and it tasted like water. It took another 30 mins to get the waitress to come back and fix it. They seemed like they were in a really big rush when it came to the "show/cooking",it deffinently wasn't the best. Only thing that was cute was for my birthday they sang happy birthday, free Ice cream (vanilla, which I don't eat) , and took a cute photo on me and my boyfriend (the battery in the digital camera was dead and the waitress had to go get a different one).

Hour wait with reservations. Hour wait for food. Waiter blamed bar tender for drink delay. Wanted steak end up with shrimp and rice. This place is over rated and over priced.

Really unorganized, stubborn servers and over crowded atmosphere. The food was okay though.

Food was decent, healthy, and unique. Had the beef plate and bbq catfish I roll. It was very filling. Loved how the plate had a salad, side salmon cake (crispy rice), shot of soup, and a mini dessert. I also had the apple mint lemonade- very delicious!

I fell in love at first site.. The chicken fried rice with egg loved it.. I must ay the onion soup delish, I must say this restaurant has many delicious dishes to choose from but there great.. Try a baby blue ocean drink you won't regret it.. My Baby boy birthday

Checked in 45 mins early for my reservation only to have to wait an additional hour to be seated. Spoke to 2 managers and both did not care to fix the situation. To make matters worse we had hair in our food. Only good part that earns the 1 Star was Our server(Mike) was amazing! Mike quit and find something better with service being this bad you might want to abandon ship. Because Benihana just lost 15 valuable consumers

We were seated quickly. This is a hibachi restaurant so your food is prepared in front of you. Our server was terrible. If it was based on him I would have given 1 star. The people at our table were asking him for things and he would forget. He was short and abrupt when speaking to the guests. Would not sit in his section again. Our chef made up for what he was lacking. He was delightful and gave you the full "Benihana" experience. It was awfully warm in our room and we did smell like food when we left because the rooms are small. I would go back but maybe in a colder month and hope he isn't our server.

I signed up for Benihana emailing list and received $30 gift certificate from Benihana for my birthday. Great deal! Fist time trying Makeral sushi here. I like it!

The food is well prepared and in a very entertaining manner. Good portions too.

So I made reservations here for my birthday for 7pm. I was running late and had someone from my party inform them of such and was told to hurry up before we missed our reservation. When I arrived to check-in, I was told that we would be seated soon. The place was overly crowded. We checked on the status of our table three times and was told that it was taking awhile because patrons weren t leaving. They were basically allowing people to sit forever and not sticking to reservations. We finally got called to our table a little after 9pm. The chef was mediocre at best and not that entertaining. I ve been to other hibachi restaurants which are more lively. The food was good. The funny thing is that they rushed us to eat and leave, but hadn t done that with the previous guests. I won t be coming here again.

The Disney of dining. Waiting times of over an hour even with a reservation. That was consistent with our fellow diners. Otherwise this place is fun and professionally run. Pretty cheesy but that s part of the experience. The kind of restaurant you go to once or twice in a lifetime... just like Disney. ;)

My first time.back in 20 years and Was more delicious than I ever remember. Chef Ramon was terrific!

Benihana as always BUT it was so cold that even Americans put on their jackets and complained.
The complaints didn't help, it was very bad.

Made a reservation at 7 and was still waiting to be seated until 8.

Been going for many years so I find the place a bit formulaic- essentially Western food with a faintly Japanese twist. But Daniel, our chef, was very adept and put on a good show.

Yummy as always. Nothing special about this location. Parking was not hard to find. Nothing bag to say.

Amazing place, great atmosphere! I came here with my girlfriend for a day in the town and came across this restaurant. The staff is very hospitable and our server, Rudy, was genuine and redefined the meaning of hospitality. He was always checking up on us and his other guest without missing a beat and has a skill in multitasking. Anyone who gets Rudy as a waiter will receive professional service and will enjoy their time here. Pedro, our hibachi chef, was funny and all around entertaining. He livened up the environment and is great with kids (we shared a room with a family). I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a new experience in this diverse city!

Excellent food and super friendly staff. We have kids and they had a wonderful time. Seems a lot of families go there. Food was excellent. Very generous portions.

Worst Hibachi restaurant I've ever eaten at and most expensive too. Filet mignon was not very good and the woman sitting next to me took one bite of her lobster and asked the manager to take it back. Chef was also amateurish dropping his utensils repeatedly. Food was also spaced much more than usual for hibachi. There are too many other options in NYC to waste your money here

Kid friendly?! HA! I understand the need for reservations, but we missed our grace period by 5 minutes after dragging my two hungry children (ages 4 and 6) through the holiday crowds for a fun day of Broadway and dinner. We were basically told tough and then our reservation at this restaurant wasn't cancelled and we were unable to make a new reservation because the times conflicted. I'll never go back to this restaurant and would highly recommend they remove the kid friendly rating.

Food not bad but really not exceptional.
What is worth this note is the service. We go to this establishment while waiting for a little "show" at the table. We were treated to a grumpy man, he did the bare minimum and also missed several times. No smile, no exchange, nothing.

In addition, our formula included an ice cream and a tea that we were not given. Response from the waitress: "You have to ask for them"

In a good atmosphere, where you can savor Japanese food cooked to your eye on your own table, this place has exquisite dishes of oriental cuisine, which can be accompanied with good drinks, excellent wines and, of course, a good Sake ( alcoholic drink that comes from the distillation of rice with a high alcohol content) and cocktails also based on Sake.
The staff is friendly, the attention good. But what is unmissable is the chef's show preparing the dishes in front of your eyes, with fresh elements.

Poor Customer Service - Had to ask for eating utensils. Napkins. All requests took about 15 minutes before receipt.

I love this place. I had a great experience. The chef did his thing. Nice tricks with his hat and knife.. the reason it didnt get 5 stars is because we actually had to share a table with another set of family.

I was here with my cousin and next to us there was a couple: apparently the girl took the guy for dinner bc of his birthday, but the guy didn't seem to care and he barely ate despite the fact the food here is AMAZING, and he wasn't impressed at all and the girl was like really upset and that made me sad, hope she finds someone better, you don't need that kind of negativity in your life girl! Regarding the place, as I said, FOOD IS AMAZING, such an experience. I don't remember the name of our cook, but he was really fun and charming, hope he's living a happy life. Love you all.

It was so crowdy and they tried to put 12 people in a table of 8 people you couldn't eat and it wasn't comfortable to eat

Space is cramp and food sometimes undercooked. Spicy chicken was the best. Hibachi chicken needed salt.

Loved the food nice atmosphere not to expensive friendly service
