I found a water dispenser easily after I passed border gate. The airport is spacious and clean but the checking is quite strict and had a long queue. The wifi is not satisfying, you do connect but since you re in China you can t access social media like Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.

Terminal 3 is architecturally stunning however if you have a layover or connection via this airport I would avoid. Not many food options and it is freezing at night. If you walk to the end of the international concourse there is a few lounge chairs that are ideal for sleeping but keep in mind it can take 15 mins to walk to the other end of the concourse. Security for connections take a while (I had two hours and I had 10mins to spare) and it seems that no staff have a word of english.

I transfered throught Beijing to go to Guangzhou on october 28th,2016. First of all, the experience with China Airlines was terrible,to say the least, but that's another story. After landing in Beijing on time (6 am) I thought I had plenty More

The return trip to the United States is scheduled to be in the capital, and there have been many changes since the last time. The capital is the capital. It is a feeling of tidal feeling! There are a lot of people, but the order is not bad, but the facilities are very good. There are toilets, plenty of seats, and lots of restaurants. Many fast food restaurants are full, but the guests flow quickly and the seats are not difficult.

No smoking rooms, they take lighters, no souvenir shops, no drinks during the transit flight, they confiscated a power bank from my luggage, which I found out only in a hotel in Tokyo. The only plus is the low prices of cigarettes.

Worst airport experience ever and it wasn't my first time here. They took my battery pack simply because they couldn't read clearly the capacity label. Had a 2nd one as back up which is the exact same battery but it was ok cause they can read the label. Same battery so it makes you wonder. So if you plan to travel with one make sure the label is easy to read or else they will confiscate it.

A humongous airport, the design is fantastic and the layout is superb. I had a 12 hour layover arriving after 12am. Going through customs was much easier then a few years ago. The airport has gone biometric and you just need to use your passport then through customs. Only downside there are not enough eateries in the international terminal. If they had more food vendors it would make up for the large empty space. Staff is friendly and the facilities are well maintained. If your an aircraft watcher this is a phenomenal place to view aircraft.

Was here for a total of six hours between two layovers to/from Japan. The airport is MASSIVE. It will likely take someone a solid 15 to 20 minutes to get from point A to B in this airport. That being said, we had no issue with staff who were blunt but not really rude. Security was a slog, but moved decently fast (took us about 45 minutes - they will prioritize people whose flight is leaving soon). Food and drink options were decent for an airport. The design of the airport is modern and pleasant.

There is a single true 230V charging point in the whole terminal 3E (international). The rest are called "230V" but have only USB ports.
From 24 o'clock you can only eat in the Crystal Jade.
Definitely not recommended as a transit airport with a longer stay. The people beat around the 4 sockets in the terminal and from midnight it gets nasty cold.

What a terrible experience. I don't even know where to start. The staff don't speak any English, it's understandable that not every person speak in English but in an airport the information desk should be able to speak enough English to help you out. The place is a nightmare, lighters are confiscated and I would also hide your money when going through the scanners, the guy opened my bag without asking and started taking things out and put them in the Tray, he was very rude and was trying to rush me through the check. I just felt such lack of trust.

If you plan to sleep on the chairs I would recommend checking the flight board and seeing a gate that will be empty to sleep, try and strap your bag to you and lock your zips! There are some strange people there.

Next was the food. On a 14 hour lay over what else do you want other than food and sleep? Luckily in all of the food stores they speak no English! So good luck getting your KFC!

One plus side are the vending machines there, cheep and they can fill you up.

My advice would be to avoid this airport if you can. Also download Google translate and download the Chinese language so you can at the very least type your issues out for them.

Good luck

Decent international airport that ably handles very high passenger traffic. Ventilation is a bit poor late at night. Make sure you allow for minimum 30min to 1 hour (on bad days - China holidays peak travelling) for immigration and customs checks.

I wish there was an option to give these airport a ZERO! I was there the day after I was hospitalized in Thailand for a horrible inner ear infection, on my way back home to the U.S. I had a high fever and a terrible migraine, along with barely having any hearing. I bought the strongest pain reliever I could at the first aid station, and asked if I could lay down in one of their first aid beds because I could barely stand and the rest of the airport was freezing, and I got denied and told there were some beds on the other side of the airport I could lay in. Barely able to walk I hobbled over to the other side, where I was told I had to pay over $100 to be in their lounge. Finding this out I wobbled back to first aid and asked if I could lay down again, she said no again even though there were several empty beds, not telling me why. She sent me to another place she said they had beds, so I went there and it was an in airport hotel that would charge me over $200 for a room. In other words they REFUSED to let me lay down in a bed, even though I was just hospitalized the day before and was in excruciating pain. This place is HORRIBLE!!! VERY RUDE AND UNHELPFUL!!

Very convenient airport. My kids love their carts. Nice place to shopping .

Communication is difficult with local but install some translators app in your phone to communicate better.

Otherwise good experience.

1. In order to essentials money in advance at the Capital Airport official website to query the location of the ATM, but like ATM ABC has ordered a withdrawal, but the official website is not updated.
2. The exchange differences stronghold of considerable swap, change money before the best run a few comparison.
3. T2-T3 connection between the vehicle ride Terminal T3 of the door 5. Go T2 drive takes about 20 minutes if the traffic jam, then longer. Beijing will pass along part of the city, and therefore take the shuttle bus to take a bit like a city tour bus.
4. I take the 5:00 flight arrived at the airport, the plane was parked at the airport somewhere, but unfortunately that is the day before Osamu, Beijing has snowed heavily all night. So people have to send the whole machine's shuttle bus in the snow and other passengers to the boarding gate, the shuttle bus at the airport probably around half an hour, some passengers may exceed the shuttle bus in the snow and so on for half an hour.

Plenty of shop and food choices at this airport. The check in area is insanely busy so do get to the airport several hours in advance of your flight. Additionally, the security lines are very long and require a long wait.

One of the worst airports I've been too. Check in counters are randomly closed. Air traffic control delays flights for no apparent reason. The lounges are terrible and have no restrooms.

1. Unbearable cold. Go very very warm, people who had climbed there for many hours we were with coats and blankets of the plane and everything we could put on top
2. All expensive. If you plan to spend a few hours trying to bring your own food, a portion of frozen pizza heated to 7 micro.
3. Hours. The restaurants boast of the sign "open 24 h" but it is a lie. After 10 they stop serving food.

Beautiful airport, very clean and efficient compared to other airports in China. Just... Don't expect the WiFi to work because it won't and if you do somehow get on, most popular websites of the West are banned (Facebook, Google, etc.). It's also incredibly humongous so it takes up to 2hrs to exit the airport especially if you arrived from an international flight. However, the architecture is amazing and there is so much space which you don't find in many North American airports.

Quite big. It would not hurt to make stands at the arrival with instructions on how to cross the border. Few people try to do this in accordance with the rules (if the visit is in transit, apply for a transit visa and then go to go through the border).

It looks very appealing and modern, the service staff is even 'ok'. My biggest complaint is that 90% of the time, my flights are delayed from this airport and I've lived here for over 3 years flying out multiple times every year. They either send you back and forth to different gates not ever actually telling you that your plane is delayed or you sit on the tarmac for 2/3hours. Very sad for the nations capital airport.

Security check and immigration were very crowded and were queued 2 hours ago, but it was a final call when we left the queue.
Many people were confiscated for mobile batteries. Small batteries without capacity notation appear to be confiscated.

I think it's an airport that feels like hell for smokers because there is no smoking area due to thorough smoking cessation indoors. There are few sidewalks to walk on, so it's quite difficult to reach the boarding gate. It's a beautiful design, but the contents are like hmm

Huge airport. Upon arrival, huge queues for passport control. Huge distances between all points. Before baggage claim you need to take the train. But there is a welcome in Russian "Welcome"! And the interior is impressive. There are lovely corners for relaxation and playgrounds for children

Large, modern airport. Transit 8 hours with bath, rest. Security checks are extremely strict. All electronics related things have to come out. It seems that they do not attach importance to the flight route with VN, so only use Boing-737. Sitting for 5 hours on the plane without entertainment facilities is also boring.

Overall check in process is ok consider how big and busy this airport is. T3 is much nicer than T1 and T2. The upside of T2 domestic terminal is there are many security check points, so going through the security check point is reasonably fast.

It has wide space for each and every facilities like parking area, immigration department, departure terminal, arrival terminal and many more. It is connected by metro too. It has neat and clean floor and toilet. Nice atmosphere in the terminal. Many escalators for walking. There are many sign board for directions and self finger scanners. Friendly staffs. Many duty-free shops for wine and other drinks. Floor was decorated by colour painting. Wide waiting area with charging points and television. There is a free wi-fi under airport authority. It is very hard to get vegetarian food in the airport terminal.

I stopped by a transfer, but there was no ATM in the transit area, I couldn't use Japanese Yen, and I couldn't use my debit card, so I had to exchange for Yen. Just by transferring from another country, other people were confiscated for duty-free area products because of security! The building is cold and there are no shards of affliction!

This airport is too big. Just one Terminal 3 is big enough to have a train from check-in to the transit zone and long distance walks.
Stuff does not speak English well enough.
Free airport WiFi is convinient only for locals, all international passengers should go to the information counter to get an access to WiFi.
And, by the way, many useful websites are blocked in China, so you will not be able to open this Gooogle map. YouTube and Facebook are also blocked. I am typing this review after back from the trip.

A star because it is not possible to give zero. Ignorant and rude security staff, useless information point and even in this case the staff was unpleasant and arrogant. Bad organization, they made us stay on the plane on the runways for 11 hours waiting for a change in weather conditions. I will never set foot in this airport again !!!

Beijing Capital International Airport (IATA: PEK, ICAO: ZBAA) is the main international airport serving Beijing. Worst experience!! I have a 12 hours transit here and they're not giving me a transit visa. Plus there NO smoking area in the WHOLE airport! That's stupid. No fast food either. Just stinking fish. Hating every second of my life over here.
