Terrible airport with horrible staff that couldn't care less about the passengers going through here. The Air China lounge is the worst the Star Alliance has to offer, which doesn't help make this airport any better.
Great airport big and well marked, passenger friendly
The airport express is not 24 hour available, well, the last train departs like 11 PM from the airport.
Very modern airport, large area, good service, support electronic boarding passes, direct drinking water everywhere, good quality of service personnel, barrier-free access is very convenient.
One of the huge airports in the world. Except long, slow moving and tiring queues for security...rest is best
The service staff is very good, especially the standard Beijing flavor sounds different.
had some bad experience there, beware , number of pickpockets and con artist operate at the airport
I have traveled all over the world and not experienced anything like the mess that this place is. Dirty, unprofessional workers everywhere! Even customs doesn't understand what to do with you after being sent round in circles. I had my passport checked 6 times and that was just transiting through to another country. Every person gets frisked regardless which results in huge delays and waits to get through bag check. (yes you get bag checked again and again...
Airport very large, modern, but long walkways, you should have seen, also very clean and well maintained
Beijing Capital International Airport is a clean and efficiently run place. Traveling internationally is easily accomplished out of this airport. Another nice touch are the amount of charging stations for your mobile device.
One thing to keep in mind, allow yourself plenty of time to check luggage, navigate security, clear customs, and ultimately get to your gate. This will take a bit of time.

An easily accessible airport. Passports are time-consuming and confusing. The restaurant staff does not speak English, it needs to be improved.
Beijing International Airport, also known as Beijing Capital International Airport, is located 29 kilometers northeast of downtown Beijing, in the Shunyi area, more specifically, within the administrative district of Chaoyang District. Good accessibility by train. Free wifi after registration. Free hot water for simple dessert soups. There are also quiet corners to relax.
If you are Japanese, you will be badly discriminated by airport staff. Honestly, I felt the danger of life. An airport that you don't want to approach again, even with money.
Going through *transit* security is a mess. The location and procedures are poorly thought out. You get double-tapped for passport check. Plus, everyone gets thoroughly frisked even if the metal directors dont flag you, causing long delays. There were 20 people in front of me, which equaled about 25 minutes in line. After the transit line fiasco, I arrived at my gate at exactly 730 for a 730 China air flight, and EVERYONE was long gone--the plane sitting there and then taxied off. My gate was down a long corridor, so even from a great distance away I could tell NO ONE was there. No announcement, no final call, nothing. I rebooked for the next day, but the above would not have happened in other airports.
After 15 minutes of taxing around the runways at the end of a 13 hour flight, we had the honour of taking an over crowded bus from the plane to the terminal.
A large airport also well organized and manages a large amount
of passengers. On arrival, fill in the passenger card and yes
they have to take fingerprints, and many scanners are available
assistance staff. Then he waits in line for the check
passport and visa, a small train leads to delivery
luggage all well indicated then the exit.
There are many long queues for immigration, and it takes more than an hour to receive your luggage. I hope for improvement.
Nice and clean airport. We didn't have to wait long for our check-in. Did had to have some patience at the security but there was no trouble.
Not a very cozy place. We had a 5 hour layover in this airport and although big (possibly the largest in the world) and modern (in architecture) it is severely lacking modern conveniences. We passed through in December and it was freezing in the terminal. There was no where to go. Duty free liquor stores with head pillows far outnumbered restaurants. No internet, no where to plug in a phone or laptop. Enjoy!
The international terminal is really, really big and there are plenty of areas to rest in. There are all manner of stores and facilities, however, the wifi is conditional upon providing your details. To access wifi, you would either need to have a registered Chinese mobile number and also present your passport to the concierge to collect your wifi access code.
I wish airports in the US were like this. We really need to loose the TSA and focus on customer service not customers serving government employees. This size and scale of the airport was impressive.
Use in transit
If you are using transit for the first time, it might be difficult and wide enough to get lost
Security is very strict and hard
There was a Starbucks so it was just right to kill time
The person using WiFi issues the password by letting the machine read the passport after leaving security
If you think you can connect to the Internet, you can't use google instagram Facebook
The usual search is google so almost nothing can be done
If you are going to Beijing Airport, it is difficult to use a VPN.
And the restroom in the airport, but wherever you go, uncle and aunt cleaners are always waiting and you will see cancer
Ignore w
I really liked it, I went there very small but I like it, original, some places are bland but others are fully lit, pretty and big. Nothing to say but this is only my opinion, after, for you, I don't know but try it and you will see, there are even pools with goldfish, however, insufficient seats in the waiting hall but you can go to the halls of other flights, where it is available (personally, that's what I did). Qualified staff in English and friendly at the bottom of them but the numerous work and the stress makes them cold and without feelings, modern look but not very warm (this is only a detail).
By cons I can not tell you anything about the dutyfree (catering, shops etc) because I did not test appart tell you that there are quite a lot especially in the corridors. There are many bridges to embark but the borrowing a shuttle to board is very common so we are all crowded.
I recommend
Surely one of the worst airports in the world. I was making a stopover in Beijing to go to Montreal and I had to sleep at the hotel because my flight was tomorrow. The organization is not possible, they don't even speak English. The hotel was included in the ticket and when you arrive they say your name is not on the list so you have to pay $ 400 per person or return to the airport. So, we went back to the airport in a stinking bus and in the middle of the journey, the driver returned to the hotel because we had to take a person too. So, we went back to the Air China counter (Yes, our airline was Air China) they say that our name is not on the list. Since they do not know how to speak English we took our calm by telling them when they did not want to sleep at the airport. Luckily, they found a hotel room for $ 100 for all of us (it was better than $ 400 per person). 3am, arrived at the hotel: the only thing is that there was only one large bed (which was small for the 3 of us) but hey the only thing we wanted was to sleep. Arrived at the airport around 8:30 am, we check-in, we sit at our door and it was already 12:45 (our flight was at 1:15 pm). 20 min later nobody came to sit and when we see the TV showing the flights they tell us that the door had changed and that it was on the other side of the airport. We ran, ran, ran and when we arrived flight delayed because of the weather ... They made us wait 2 hours and people got mad at the counter because they were tired of waiting. 2 hours later we board the Air china plane:
- disgusting meal
- stinking toilets
- The TV that doesn't even work
It seems that the flight attendants do not like to do their job. Note for later never crossing through Beijing.

Clean but confusing. Without visa in the transfer and attention, all lighters deliver! At control is gekerkert! Smoking unfriendly, or absolute ban on smoking .... !!!!
Very unpolite, unfriendly and disrespectful.
I wanted to asked for the transfer station and they were very unfriendly and couldn't gave me a proper answer...
Great airport, there are many worse ones in China: D I like the drinks vending machines and the free drinking water.
The airport is huge and modern, the first impression is that you can get lost, everywhere quite long distances, you can also have some comments to mark. The flight lands at the third terminal, so we take the queue for luggage. You may have problems communicating in English, although the entire service seems to be working. The machines for collecting fingerprints for foreigners have been a novelty since the last visit. Unfortunately, they do not always work correctly, then you should go ahead - the prints will be taken at the passport control, The airport is huge, the first impression is that you can not get lost. Best airport but the immigration queue is very long and it might take more than one hour to clear the queue. It is a silent airport so you need to monitor the screen often as they don't anounce gate change
I thought Taipei Airport sucked, this one takes the cake. Terriable layover experience through security check a hot unnecessary mess; staff there was simply unprofessional. Beijing Airport never again!
I was going through A transfer from Tokyo Japan through Beijing China. In Japan (Tokyo) we are told to hand carry our power banks but in China we are told we are told to check it in which causes a lot of confusion and frustration. I have a GOPRO case with an integrated power bank system (under 165kw). When I went through the Chinese customs they confiscated my power bank (to include the case) because they were not sure how many kilowatts it was (funny, it was made in China). I offered to show them a digital receipt which shows my power banks kilowatts on my phone but they said they only accept paper receipts. I mean you would think because it's 2017 innovative places like China would accept digital receipts but no I was sorely mistaken. My suggestion to the Beijing airport is to at least accept digital receipts so nobody experiences getting their personal items confiscated. If the Chinese customs accepted my digital receipt I would still have my 60 euro power bank. On top of that, the staff was very rude. Again, in the Japan (Tokyo) it is REQUIRED for you to carry your power bank and in China (Beijing) it is REQUIRED to check your power bank in; unless you have something IN PAPER stating it's 165kw or under. A great disappointment it is.... I hope to never go back there again.
AVOID if you are a wheelchair bound traveller - there seem to be no established procedures and in a case I know, someone has been rolled under an aircraft several times, wheelchairs were disassembled on the tarmac, the airport assistants have been asking for money for a job they were supposed to be doing for free according to international rules, and the wheelchair user's neck was hurt during a bus transfer. In addition, people have shown rude behaviour to wheelchair users.
Service getting better every year. The free drinking water tastes and smells purified with chloride. Prices increase also with the better service. Free wifi is available but slower as a slug. Google is not available here even all their services are blocked in china.
Was in Terminal 2 - used the business class lounge for UL ,
Airport facilities at Terminal 2 were just about average, the lounge appears to be a temporary facility with only seating arrangements, and mediocre choice of food and beverage. No separate washroom facility in the lounge.
Would have expected better !
Very efficient airport with adequate waiting rooms and facilities.
China's capital is a terrible Airport that never suits a city like Beijing. It is flattened, like an abandoned Airport. I am writing for Terminal 2, Indeed, there are 3 5 stores, most of them closed at 21:45. I came for the first time, but it really is at such a level that old age is enough. Better to close completely and move to the newly built Daxing Airport
I feel that the airport staff are foul, but they are serious, but it seems that some places are leaking.
One of the best airport for its size. Very modern. Many restaurants and lounges. Terminal 3 is mainly for Air China. Most US flights are from terminal 2. You can take subway directly from terminal. Very easy to get in and off of this airport.
The world's largest airport where many nationalities converge, the machines detect you if you are Latino ...
No place to sleep. The airport smelled bad when we were there. Not a lot of good stores just really expensive stores. It was quite cold in airport and run down.
Very nice airport. Reminds me in Incheon. Lots of space but little sitting space.
My trip was successful in this airport is very large and clean, and equipped, there is no staff for guidance but all the instructions on the paintings in English enough to raise your head a little bit, if you want to take the luggage boarded the train and find yourself in front of the luggage
Very large airport. Everywhere there are a lot of pointers. Not knowing either Chinese or English, we easily found everything. Perfect place. Everything is super!
Egads! The LINES! Oh and then LONG WAIT for the bags! Beautiful in appearance but the line to get to customs was OUT OF CONTROL. People en mass just packed in. TOOK forever and then to add insult to injury the bags took forever. We were in line SO long for customs we thought for sure the bags would be there waiting for us. But no. Also note: 1. you go through customs 2. You then have to board a LONG tram/train to get to the baggage claim 3. Then you wait and WAIT. 4. Do not let the car hawkers get you after you exit baggage claim. There is a proper taxi queue when you exit. I would like to add that about a year ago I transited through Beijing en route to India and it was also chaos. TOOK FOREVER. You line up and show your passport then you go through a long and lengthy security process after that. So make sure you have A LOT OF TIME for your transfer/connection. UPDATE: ! just transited AGAIN through Beijing. The queue on my outbound (LAX-PEK-HK) the passport line was short but security long (barely made a 2 hour connection) and the return (HK-PEK-LAX) was a NIGHTMARE. If we had less than 3 hours we would not have made our flight) JUST FYI always expect delays here.

I hate Daxing Airport. I hope that Air France, which I often sit on, can stay at the Capital Airport. Daxing should be renamed Langfang Airport.
It,s a huge airport. After you go threw migration, you can take the airport train to the city, if you take a Taxi it shouldn't cost more then 120 Yuan to the city centre. You got to Negotiat the price befor you take the ride. There are a few Restaurants and i personally recommend trinking a coffee there cause you will not get any good coffee in Peking except you pay huge prices. Also here you have a photo of the metro system so you get an idea. The airport is in the upright corner
Nice food options, efficient handling of queues but not friendly people and only very few english speaking people. Getting the WiFi to work is everything but hassle-free.
This is very huge airport terminal. We've spent few hours in terminal 3. Negative parts - very expensive duty free in comparison tp Europe and States, very thorough security chwck, they check every pocket and item in your bag, and there is nothing to do here. Positive sides - it is huge and has got many places to sleep
h u g e, make certain you have ample time to traverse pek, trams connect t3 c,d,e.
Very long ways to go. Plan for some more time to get to the plane
Very large airport! There are a lot of cafes etc. Lounge zone most preferable.
If you want to go outside this airport as a transfer. You don't have to go to Transfer path. You have to get the temp visa from other section. So that get the visa, you have to ask several officers to some question. Because some people answer differently. You have to distinguish clearly. Normally they don't care your concern.
We provide hot and cold water with drinking water in the airport. The toilet hand dryer is Dyson. If the staff speaks English a little better then it will be a convenient and pleasant airport.
Very busy airport. Flights often delayed. Other than that, very well managed operation.
A clean and modern airport. I had a 7-hour layover here. If you are connecting, I strongly recommend going to the Air China lounges while you wait for your flight. Very comfortable, nice staff, great food.
Unsympathetic staff, ugly airport. In addition, very cold from the interior as well as the temperature. Also, the Sercurity Check is unworthy and inefficient. Will avoid this airport in the future.
Huge airport with a poor layout. Not enough terminal shuttle trains to accommodate the number of passengers. Security screening was unprofessional and invasive despite finding nothing unusual in my bags or on my person. Most shops and restaurants in the international terminal were closed and/or under renovation. Will avoid this airport if possible.
Not the worst. But not the best. It is not easy to find elementary information. Some employee plays with his mobile and does not want to help. So the customs workers are very rough. If you have fragile things, take better care of yourself. Because your backpack is a basketball for the customs workers. In no case about it immediately complaints! I've been waiting a lot because I said "take care this is my laptop".
Corrupt staff taking advantage of tourists. I was driven by airport staff to a hotel that I was told would be paid for due to a 24 hr delayed flight, and then he tried to charge me extortionate amounts of money for the night. He had driven me to a very remote location 20 minutes away and I consider myself quite lucky I convinced him to take me back to the airport. I gave him fuel money to lessen the chance of him being tempted to tamper with my checked in luggage and he gave it to another staff member who was directing people into the airport. As I was checking in I saw him rushing an elderly white man on some corridor above me. I was hoping all that I could that he would have been ok in the end, but it seems a lot of the staff are in it together, particularly the general floor staff.
Back in England now I am on a bus and overheard a man just talk about being harassed by Beijing Airport staff to take his luggage for him in return for what would be half a weeks wages for them. He got out of that by given them a little bit but took is own luggage.
TRAVELLERS BEWARE, especially if traveling alone!
Top notch hardware and facilities. But a strange set up make certain restaurants inaccessible such as if you are heading international terminals. You can see those nice local delicacies while you gracefully make your stride along the hall way but can swallow your own mouth water.
Terminal 3 was not impressive at all. Poorly designed and very inefficient.
