Bedfordshire Police Review

Careless. Specially a female officers, arrogant and rude. 5 years ago very good people worked there, not now. It's scary we end up with the people working for police like that.

Absolute waste of time!! Our shop in Bedford city centre has been robbed 3 times in less than 12 months. We have clear CCTV footage which we have sent to the police and they have not bothered to do a thing!
I have left voicemails requesting them to call me to report yet another theft that happened in the shop yesterday and surprise surprise nobody has bothered to call me back!!! What is the point in me paying council tax? This is why crime is getting worse because the criminals know the police are not interested in pursuing anything!!

You can't even report a crime at police station, they just took my number and got someone to call me

My car has been vandalised near my home on Thursday night or on Friday before 13.00pm. I've reported this via 101 and by online. It is 14.30pm on Sunday and the telephone lines there not working right, as the staff saying. I have been unable to have a crime reference number up till now. Also I can not do anything about my car insurance.

Absolute waste of time.
More concerned with where they're going to go for dinner than dealing with the public's problems.

Rang the police as someone was brandishing a knife on my street but the police didn t send anyone.

Absolute joke, it s a small cul-de-sac with families with young children.

Front counter clerk was not in attendance so was left waiting feeling uncertain as to whether my prescence had been acknowledged. No bell available for visitors to press.

Had an incident that happened to be in Bedfordshire and all i can say is that they been professional and helpful.

Trying to get through to the property office to collect my property that was taken from me since 8oclock and it s now 3oclock and they still don t want to pick up the phone , haven t done anything wrong and feel like I m getting treated like a criminal

The worst police force ever !!! My partner's car was broken into last night and we didn't realise until he was leaving for work this morning. Called 101 and was told to leave his name, dob and contact number which he did. When they then called him back they told him that HE had to go and collect evidence !!! Remind me again why I pay my council tax ??? They're the ones with the forensic kits to do exactly what they're asking him to do. They then told him that unless he collects a sufficient amount of evidence, they will not be investigating the matter. Absolutely diabolical and shoddy work. I wonder what they're spending millions of pounds on a year ??? Certainly isn't on adequate staff. I could do a better job than them, give me the forensic kits and I'll do it myself. At least that way, it'll get done. Would give them less stars if I could.

The most incompetent police service I've ever experienced! They don't bother to do anything and aren't willing to protect those with vulnerabilities. I'd rate them in the minuses if I could.

Waiting on line for 10min with no answer whatsoever..you call yourself police?? Or did I call during a nap break?? Because seriously after 10pm nothing can happen out there...

I had an issue concerning policing a major event and the response was pathetic - a prime example of box-ticking over effective action. I really wonder about the direction of policing in this country. It seems as if they would rather sit in their cars and moan about lack of funding than sit down and agree effective strategies for dealing with issues. An ineffective presence is where OUR money is really wasted.

Absolute joke!!!!!! Couldn't even get through to them to report a theft and had to leave them a voicemail!! Luton is definitely not a safe place and the police incompetence and carelessness is whats making it worse!!!!!

We had a lovely police officer named Adam come round today to take a statement. Was very efficient and professional but the best part was that he let my daughter sit in his police car with the lights flashing and siren on!She has now changed her mind from being prime minister to being a police woman as a job when she's older.

Not replying to any of my police reports or emails. What a joke.

tried to ring 3 times about a speeding ticket went through their terrible automated system 3 times 2 of them it randomly cut off and the last it kept cycling the options. useless

After a hit and run by a suspect at a petrol station, with two officers on location as it occurred in a marked police car who left the scene moments after it happened, despite my mother attempting to signal them, my traumatized sister phoned the police to be told no officers would be available to assist us at the scene. We were told that in order to file a report we would have to make our way 15 miles (without a car obviously and still shaking from the incident) to the closest police station where we would have to present the entirety of our insurance, ownership, mot and tax documents. i located the offender myself at a local pub. Drunk. We are dealing with the matter privately as the police seemed so reluctant to help.

Terrible service. This is what taxes are being paid off... whole of shefford had tyres slashed trough the evening of last saturday. Lots of money lost lots of danger as one of the cars had the tyre explode on route through A1 could have died and killed others. And what police do??? Nothing. Ok if they didnt have cctv or no way of knowing who it was i would understand. But guess what there is cctv and they know who it was. I am in shock to know this is what the police do ignore these crimes expecting to stop??? No it will get worse. I will not stop until justice is done. Newspapers bring it on.

Cell was clean and comfortable; a definite improvement to Greyfriars. Although the addition of an outdoor cage would be highly recommended. A well dressed gentleman kept waking me up which was slightly inconvenient.
Food was ok, I had the beans n wedges. Tea was excellent.
Overall service was friendly and I even got a free pair of slippers and the offer of a free ride home

Yesterday my husband and I was on our way back from Bedford college after I had enrolled for an access course. We do not live in Bedford so we were following sat nav. There were two police officers driving up the road while we drove Down, they drove passed us done a U-turn then followed us round the round about put the lights on and stopped us. Our car fully insure my husband is an advanced driver so we knew it had nothing to with his car/ his driving. So my husband stopped. 'You alright mate?' My husband asked 'Yeah we just wanted to know why you went round the round about??' Seriously???????
They stopped us for no reason followed us because we were black. I am ashamed of this police system. My husband and I both hold good jobs we have children of our own and know the law. Stopping black people because we are in a 2018 plate car is not acceptable. This is my 3rd time in Bedford I do hope my husband those not get stopped again while dropping me to college. At least stop people for a reason, why is armed police stopping us for no reason? Really means you have too many police officers with nothing better to do, then sit a look for black people.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the Officers that helped me and my Partner with an issue last Saturday night at Bedford Train Station. you were all remarkably professional and helped so much. Thank you for everything that you do.
