A hidden gem on Narragansett Bay. The Beavertail Lighthouse, surrounding grounds, fantastic views, charming lighthouse museum and adjoining kid-friendly hands-on "aquarium" are a terrific way to spend a few hours almost any day, but especially in good weather. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic, kites, Frisbee, dogs, binoculars, cameras, etc. Nice areas for climbing on rocks. No good places for swimming, but in a few places you can get down to the water to splash in tidal pools or gravel "beaches." Lots of parking and it's all free! Plan ahead to visit on a day when the lighthouse is open to climb to the top.

Learn a bit of history of the Beavertail Lighthouse and lighthouses in general at this small nice museum. Don't miss the small shed behind the main Museum which has a display dealing with Lighthouse lenses. A great place to have a picnic and look at Narragansett Bay and the ocean.

Definitely come here. The drive is a little long on the way down, but is scenic and is worth it. There is a little aquarium that the state park set up, with sea horses, pipefish, and a horseshoe crab. The museum is great, it doesn't only focus on the lighthouse, but all the other Rhode Island Lighthouse there ever were. After, climb on the rocks and get the breeze in your face. Great place to go.

We walked around the grounds and then walked down to the huge rock that borders the sea, then sat on the rock and watched the sea. It was a blast. Watching the sea is always mesmerizing.

I love visiting the rocks, I didn't go into the museum.

Beavertail is sick there are allot of tides pools filled a wide veriety of animals and ecosystems. Sunsets are beautifull and stunning. Theres allot of rocks so id watch hout cause if you dont know what your doing you can slip on somw of the rocks but overall one of the coolest place ive been to in a while. There are allot of good fishing spots and places to chillax and enjoy a cold one with the bois. Theres also fields where you can chillax on the grass. And if exploring the area doesnt sound interesting to you then you can make an apointment to check out the light house from what ive heard. Its cool but ive never been inside it. When i go back ill check it out cause its so worth. Ya feel?

This is a very interesting museum that not only explains the how a lighthouse works, but also has a focus on the families that have lived there over the years. I really like how they bring the history to life.

Another favorite exhibit is the room about shipwrecks. Informative and educational.

Its an awesome place at the tip, It gets very windy just make sure that you carry a jacket when your heading to beavertail state park!

Great place to visit especially with young children. Panoramic views of RI sound, kite flying is a plus. Small fisheries aquarium.

I like this place during spring and summer. Best time for me yo visit is after winter time when weather is starting to get warm. There is park to walk. You can find picnic tables. If you enjoy scenic views for good pictures this is a good place.

One of the oldest lighthouses on the East Coast a little Museum

I have visited twice but haven't been able to go inside the museum. The views are beautiful.

Beautiful place to walk around and sit down and watch the waves. There's also a very informative museum on site.
