Small but fun day out at the zoo. Could see the animals pretty well also. Def a plus.
Small but fun day out at the zoo. Could see the animals pretty well also. Def a plus.
I visited with my family. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I do not usually visit zoos as I do not like animals in captivity, however; many of the animals here and it is noted are animals that would not make it in the wild. You can eat burgers, fries, bean burgers etc in the cafe. The peacocks roam freely so you may be able to catch them spreading their wings!
Loved it! It was amazing to see all the animals they had!
Nice, small Zoo. Had a great time with the 2-year old.
A trip down memory lane, I miss the real circus a coming to town.
It's exactly as advertised. Great parking, the animals are healthy as can be expected in this type of environment and the staff is friendly.
Very nice place to visit with family and especially children
Big park, lots os trees, a little lake crosses some parts of the park, ducks at the water, playgrounds, parking inside. Nice
The evolution of the zoo is remarkable. Gregg the director is such a great person and has an incredible staff working there. The zoo continues to expand to bring both new and old customers back to the zoo. Worth every penny, it's a great day out!
Ever see tortoises mating?! Lmao. Funniest thing ever
It's a very fun place to go to. It has lots of interesting attractions, with a large variety of animals. It's a great place to take your kids to as well!
It's was good and awesome all the animals are good and I wonder is there new species I hoped is cool
I went last week with my daughter, we both noticed how some of the the tigers were terribly distressed, walking in circles round and round, no eye contact to anybody just excessively walking in circles. This is a sign of boredom, distress and panic !
So if I was a majestic beauty tiger and I had a live in a small cage, about 400 Square foot cage I would be doing the same thing! It was extremely sad and distressing, to see them acting like that.
So besides the Tigers, they also had a big black vulture bird, that looked sick , in a very small cage the size of a small cage as a bird! To me, it was a sign of getting them help. Moreover, the reptile and House that featured monkeys, and two sloths , and other reptiles, smelled nothing like pure urine! I m going to petition bigger cages for the Tigers and they fight that they get humanely treated! Think about it ? would you like to live in a 400 square-foot room for the rest of your life? I ve been to the Bronx zoo, and I left her a happy, because the animals had a really good life there, more room and more life-like exotic, outdoor living, realistic, colorful and playful! that was nice to see.
The Beardsly zoo, left us sad extremely distressed and disgusted, and for for my eight-year-old daughter she said she will never go back there again ! Our HIGH taxes here in CT can do better for Gods animals!!
The exhibits are animal friendly; that is to say, the animals seem relaxed and free from stress. I am happy that they are well taken care of.
Such a fun place to visit. Small but usually not to crowded.
Little pricy for the size, but overall the kids had a great day
We had a great time. It was raining so many of the animals were not out, but my son still had a great visit.
Connecticut's only Zoo is accredited and cares for some of the rarest animals left in the world including Amur Leopards and Amur Tigers and many other species. This zoo is perfect for the young and young at heart. The new red panda exhibit is amazing and the two new and very rare amur tiger cubs born last year are thriving because of the zoo staff's care. This is a must see for anyone that loves animals and for those that want to see rare and endangered animals that will not be seen at many other zoos.
Small zoo. Very small enclosures for the animals. Bronx zoo is a million times better
Cute little zoo that was finally open to the public.
This is a pleasant zoo. We were on vacation and meet some friends there. Kids enjoyed the exhibits
I've been here a few times. They clearly have a commitment to education and rescuing versus just collecting animals. Their exhibits are very cute and we've never been disappointed.
Small enough to see everything, yet big enough to fascinate children. Staff is great; parking is free!
Not a huge zoo but it's still great for a family day out. They have a few big cats there which is definitely my favorite attraction there
It's a great day out and the park been updated a lot where as long as you bring food then you and the family could spend the whole day.
My debit card does not work very badly and they do not affect cache
There are some very interesting animals and displays here. A few children's birthday parties were taking place when we went; the kids all seemed to be having a great time!
Great place, clean with a large variety of animals and things to do.
CT is lucky to still have this very special place for children and families to share and experience mother nature! Everyone should go!
It's good for the kids so they learn of diffrent animals that are on awere planet
Great place to take younger grand children. Good cafe, but line can get long at busy times. Check out the 'merry-go-round', it's a classic.
This is a small but nice zoo. It is a peaceful place to visit. I would like to see it expand a bit. The food here is ok, which is the 4 instead of 5 rating. They were out of pretzels when we were there, also the small food concession stand closest to the carousel did not have any hot dogs ready at noon. Had to go to the bigger building to get. Not a big deal but nonetheless they should have been ready. Parking can be a bit of a challenge also, but it is free. Al in all a very nice place though.
Nice park with plenty space to play soccer, baseball, tag, etc. etc. It even has a river
my favorite place to visit on a sunny day. we bought a family pass, which was very affordable, and go very often. the zoo is clean and has just enough to keep you interested every time you go.
Very nice park in general. But I personally think they are rip off artist for the cost of parking. If you live in Conn $25 Bucks to park and if you are from out of town like I was it cost $35 bucks that's highway robbery. Mine you I didn't go to damn zoo. Went to a bbq 2 hour drive and slapped with that fee was absurd slap in the face. Franklin pArk zoo in Boston, MA is free parking. Won't go there again. Beautiful park yes indeed but few for parking wouldn't recommend a soul to visit park.
Went last year was nice and small food for my two year old to walk and stay with not very busy either was a nice day
Great local zoo! Get a library pass for great discounts.
Active animals. Polite knowledgeable staff. Fairly priced concessions.
Nice place to take small kids. I think it was a bit too spensive since the zoo it's so small. Food was OK. Restrooms by the entrance of the zoo were really dirty. Besides that had a great time spend an hr at the zoo.
Great first zoo experience for the 3 to 6 year olds
A relatively small zoo, but you can often get up-close to the animals and it's perfect for a quick family activity.
Enjoyable for kids under 12 I have to say any older they want more out of the Zoo
Very nice zoo, especially during a time where there are restrictions in place. While they don't have every animal, the experience is still fun with family or friends.
Some exhibits were closed for the season, but overall this was a pretty nice zoo. We finished exploring within two hours, which is different than the entire day we spend at the Bronx zoo, but we still enjoyed it.
Nice to see variety of animals.Especially the prairie dogs.Funny as all Heck.
Love all their animals but need a better gift shop.
I just recently visited as we have a family pass. Many exhibits were not opened and the tortoise were not out...im assuming due to the weather. My little one was thrilled non the less
Decent variety of animals & for the most part 90% of them seemed happy/content. You're able to get fairly close to most of the exhibits.
Will visit again a wonderful place to be and to bring the family
We came all the way from Massachusetts to visit. This is by far one of the best zoos in New England.
Everyone needs to go, see the gorgeous animals and support them at this difficult time!
My great nephew and I had an amazing time!! Super fun!! :)
Quite a few exhibits were closed for renovations & my grandson was very disappointed.
A great fun zoo which is being constantly developed!
Due to the recent impacts of COVID-19 the zoo requires a face mask and to buy tickets online and only allow 50% capacity. After all of these constraints it was a great experience you dont get the crowds of people but still experience the same feeling of a zoo. It's a bit smaller due to most of the interactive shops and a few exhibits being closed but I do recommend going and stopping by the ice cream shop with the kids was a good break just before you leave. The zoo did what they can and the workers are still more than willing to put in the effort to provide information for the animals.
