Large selection of clothing + all manner of household items. Well worth a visit
Constant sales. Departments crowded together. Unhelpful staff. Good cafes. Regis hairdresser mostly without customers. Very good franchises e.g threading services.
Beales is one of those shops that have a bit of everything. The staff very helpful.
Love to browse around this store. I have bought some reasonable bargains. Their offers are always worth looking out for.
Apparently "Closing Out" is not the same as "Closing Down"
Goods overpriced even when they are discounted - no wonder they went to the wall !
Great bargains, lots to choose from, helpful staff. Highly recommended
Great, and the only department store left in Poole. Wide choice of outlets.
OK for clothing if you are elderly or wanting to appear on strictly. Went for a coffee in their restaurant upstairs. The lady serving us put in the wrong order and tried charging us for fruit cake which we hadn't even ordered. Very tired looking restaurant which could do with modernising. Wouldn't visit there again.
Love Beales so sad that they are closing great shopping there lots of bargains
Browsed around unhindered and gentleman s dept staff helpful.
Bit tired and not very well presented. Next to no mens shoes and the suit department is about 20 years out of date. They currently have a sale on some branded items, worth a look if you a size S or XL as that is generally all that is left. I would not make a point of coming here specifically but it's worth a visit if you are passing by.
Great place for a meal. Lovely to sit outside with a cold drink on a hot day
A rare thing these days, a well stocked small department store with helpful staff.
Sad to see an iconic Bournemouth store fail so dramatically. Now in receivership. Gone are it's golden days.
Oh dear! Desperate times . Blue Cross Sales offering an additional 20% off in some departments. Be careful though not all the concessions are offering this deal.
Terrific selection of clothes and accessories. Helpful staff, clean and friendly.
Very good variety, proper department store, not too many if em left now so that makes it even more special
Good quality clothes relaxed atmosphere. I wish people would stop moaning about the coffee shop some of the staff are special needs registered. And it's really nice that they can do a day's rewarding work. I love um!
Most beautiful ladies work there. Felt like in heaven
Great store I use to go to the one in Bournemouth as a kid in the square still got things you wouldn't think they had
The store was jammed with sale items. Good if you have the time to find a bargain.
Very unhelpful woman on the clinique counter yesterday morning...patronising attitude did not give me the advice I needed came across extremely dismissive couldn't wait to get away
The redress of the store is good. It needed it. So much more to see and plenty of good deals.
I used to love beales for menswear, it now looks like a bargain basement shop the mens lines are sparse to say the least, you can't get a dress coat nor a leather jacket, I would say what used to be menswear is less than half what it was, that and for someone in a mobility scooter the covid rules somehow allows me to use one entrance only so it was a lift up to menswear and instead of going out on to that floor so we could finish at our last shop then straight to carp Park for the vehicle, we had to go back downstairs in the lift all the way around the dolphin centre to get another lift to the first floor. I am hoping after all the covid nonsense things may get back to normal. Then shopping will again become something I might enjoy rather than a necessity.
Giant shout out to Carol on the suit department. I have never brought a suit before. She was brilliant, helpful & professional. Carol found me a brilliant suit and gave me advice about maintaining and what would work with my body type
If anyone is looking for a suit in Poole I would fully recommend Beales
It's terribly sad that a department store such as this hasn't been able to survive. It has everything you need and would want from a store if this type.
In desperate need of modernising and working our what their target market is... Non fashion stock appears to be dated and not very competitively priced.
clean well presented store with some great promotions
Great department store, prefer the Bournemouth store because it is bigger
It is not so English, unified selling houses the same throughout the EU I really excited, I do not know what to write .. The coast better - see my other reviews. And that I would find the English prododeie so it is not what you used to be.
Great selection lifts available and escalators up and down!
Excellent men's clothes department excellent women's clothes departments very very helpful I love it there........ thumbs up
Lots of clothes
Bags and jewelry in half price sale.
Just like the shop of old just choice and lots of reduced to sell prices
Large store, friendly staff when they helped with looking for wedding suites, but expensive.
We bought some new furniture and the gentleman couldnt have been anymore helpful. He wasnt at all bothered how many times we asked him prices and questions. Nice to still find someone who is dedicated to his job. Hope someone passes this on to him
Very disappointed no makeup shop looked messy up on 1st and 2and floor
Considering that it's trying to dispose of all the stock the prices seem a bit high.
Always go to Beales when in Bournemouth. Shame toy department seems a bit smaller. No scaletrix or Hornby this time. But that's just me!
Beales is back in Poole and they are the only one in the country right now. Some changes have been made in store. New lines have been added to try and draw in a younger clientele. Many of the old favourite remain however. They whole store has been thought out to allow for more social distancing. They have regular cleaning and an overnight disinfectant digger. There was a 50% off summer sale on when I visited. When I spoke to a member of staff they told me that Naked Coffee would be opening in store in October. I have never tried them but I m really looking forward to trying them.
Bought some quality kitchen items at a super price in the sale but there were no bread or carving knives on display and when we asked the staff (young ladies and possibly weekend staff)did not seem to understand what we wanted and where or if we might find the items. Disappointed.
Have to say this department store is just so amazing to visit. The staff in all departments are so knowledgeable and friendly. Always going thr extra mile and I love the cosmetics department friendly not pushy. I would recommend great store
Love shopping here . So much choice . Sensible prices .
What a shame they are closing down. Greedy council and landlords. No reason to visit Poole anymore, hardly any shops especially on the high street. Wake up BCP council !!
Good range of clothing and homewares at reasonable prices. love the fact that you can get everything in one place.
Great store with constant bagins to be had on quality products for across the home. Extensive clothing range for all with good service.
Lovely experience, and as expected the same standard throughout, as found in other branches. Quality fashion and well trained attentive staff, is all anyone wants when spending well earned cash. When shopping at Beales that's exactly what you get.
It's starting to look a bit tired. Especially their toy department. Since it's been moved it's nothing more than a glorified toy isle in a supermarket. Used to take my 5 year old there. But now it's not worth the trip.
