Great cozy and lively atmosphere with ragtime playing in the background. Got the fried okra and brisket hash, and of course made use of the build-your-own Bloody Mary bar. Definitely would come back again!

Excellent brunch options, top notch wait staff. I had the French toast with fried chicken. The chicken is addictive and the French toast changed my perspective on what French toast could be. Made with the cinnamon chip great harvest bread from down the street and comes with the most amazing lemon sauce as well as syrup and butter.

Waitress didn t ask us for drinks, didn t check up on us during our 45 minute wait for our food. Guests who came in after us received their food before us. Buster ended up noticing we weren t getting helped. She asked if we needed anything after we were done eating and that s when the waitress finally acknowledge us, After she saw someone else doing her job.

Well first off the food is really good and I recommend trying it if you like BBQ and seafood. I would give it 5 stars but if you are gonna call your self a cajuan restaurant you have some damn boiled crawfish which I understand it's Washington may be hard to get. I would deffently still come back to get food tho.

1st time I ate there the gumbo was great however I didn't know the cornbread would be $3 extra or I would have said no. Also, they messed up my drink order by giving me the wrong beer and still trying to charge me for the wrong beer. Server was nice though and fixed the problem. Being from the south it was good to have a taste of home.

2nd time to eat there now... 4 flies in my whisky, and no whisky sauce on the bread pudding. Drink was fixed quickly, I guess I just have bad luck there but the service is worth it.

Was here when they first opened and hadn't been back in a long time. They really have made a fun environment with excellent menu options. We have added it on to the "go back soon" list :)

This is a hoppin' place. Though I did not order any food and only stopped in for a drink I could see the portions were huge. The food looks amazing and I will be going back to grab a bite sometime soon

One of our favorite restaurants in Bellingham. Consistently delicious food, and a fun and unique atmosphere. Though we have our pick of good restaurants downtown, we often end up at Bayou, because it is just the best.

Amazing French Quarter styled restaurant, with an impressive amount of New Orleans inspired recipes, some spiced with a PNW flair. You can't miss the hush puppies with a drizzle of honey.

Even if you're not hungry, the drink menu is more than smoke to draw you in. The multitude of signature cocktails are sure to satisfy anyone's state.

A cornerstone of Downtown Bellingham, Bayou on Bay must be on your list.

Atmosphere is great, other than one off experience with a waitress (who was probably having a bad day) I have no complaints. Food is always amazing and they have a good selection of beer on tap.

I want to enjoy this place because I LOVE cajun food. However, the dishes we had last night we not good. My dish was way too rich and full of grease and the my gator I spend $6 extra on was over cooked and so was my shrimp. My bf got a pasta dish that was watery. I hate to say that about anything but after we left I had to stop and use the bathroom because the food upset my stomach so badly. I am disappointed to say the least. Especially spending the higher price points that they charge. I really wanted a po boy but the want $15 for that sandwich. They are $5-$7 in New Orleans. Js.

Great cocktail menu, I was so excited to finally find a place I'm Bellimgham that had fried okra, everything I've ever had there has been delicious. My parents beg us to take them here every time they come to town now. A+

Had the shrimp & grits, hushpuppies, and fried catfish. Large portions and tastes great. The dipping sauce for the hushpuppies is to die for! But the grits in the shrimp and grits were solid in some parts of my plate.

Disappointed! The food is not bad, but, not exactly authentic New Orleans food. The service was awful! It took over an hour to receive our order for jambalaya, macaroni and fried oysters. Really!? It wasn't that busy, lots of empty tables. And the jambalaya came with corn bread instead of french bread.

It was still an hour from close, hardly anyone in the restaurant and it took someone 15 minutes to ask us if we wanted anything at all. We weren't allowed to use the upstairs seating, which would have been much preferred because the tables are just to wide on the bottom floor. This would easily be a 4 or 5 star restaurant if someone knew how to run the front of the house.

This is the sort of place that makes you regret 5 star ratings elsewhere because it diluted their worth. We happened upon this place and loved it. The breakfast menu was great. The shrimp and grits was super rich and flavorful, with great texture. The drinks were great and staff was lovely. I will come back here every time I visit Bellingham.

The food here is extremely good. And so is the ambiance. It was about $15-20 per plate, but it's also in the heart of downtown, so I think that's reasonable. Especially when you consider the quality. It's a great place to have a conversation, too. We were there for over an hour and it was a great date night.

Had an eh experience overall. Service was good, waitress was attentive but not bothersome. It was busy and there was a good portion of the restaurant reserved for a private party that had barely anyone in it so we had to sit 5 people at a 4 person table. Food had good portions but it wasn't anything special and definitely not very Cajun, certainly not 'authentic' Cajun.

I brought my family here to celebrate my mom's birthday because this was her favorite place to eat when she was alive. This place has an awesome atmosphere, excellent food, and our server is absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond with my 4 year old daughter who is picky with food and wouldn't eat the mac and cheese because of the green stuff, so without being asked, she brought us another mac and cheese without the green stuff. Thanks for making our experience special.

Ridiculously good. My boyfriend and I both got red ales and the hush puppies appetizer. Both were yummy. Then he got the pulled pork po boy and I got the shrimp and grits. All of it was amazing. Very authentic cajun. Best I ve had outside of NOLA. He also got a Bloody Mary and said it was excellent and I got a Hurricane which was phenomenal. We will absolutely be back! Fantastic customer service too! And good prices... 2 beers, 2 cocktails, an appetizer and 2 entrees only ran us $75. Absolutely worth every penny.

This is one of my faves. Usually get the seafood pasta. Doesn't sound Cajun I know but what a kick it has. I think this is different than before? That was really good but this is mind blowingly yummy. Never disappointed. The smoked chicken in the the jambalaya made it! This is my first time trying that. I vow to forego the seafood pasta next time for jambalaya. We'll see... Vodka oyster shots, worth a try, we ate them before getting a picture, sorry lol! And they usually have a nice stout or porter on tap. Service and dinner, both amazeballs tonight.

Going to New Orleans for the first time next next month. This makes me pretty excited.

Does Bayou read these? They could and should so they can improve. That being said, everyone has there own likes and dislikes. I love the place. However our last visit to the main restaurant was a little iffy. My lady was disappointed in her food and the service does comes and go.

Last night we visited the Oyster Bar for the first time. Really liked it. Atmosphere is great with great piped music. The bake oysters, two recipes, were wonderful. I understand that oyster bars do feature raw, and they did have 5 varieties, I wish there were more choices of cooked oysters. Bayou and others should check out Blue Canoe in Steveston to see how an outstanding oyster bar menu is presented.

I do recommend the Bayou Oyster Bar.
