This is one restaurant that we will absolutely return to very soon. Their menu was large enough to have a decent amount of selection within each section to be interesting to all palates, but wasn't overwhelming with complexity.
Simple, Developed and Delicious.

With a front of house crew that was polite but focused on their tasks, very professional and friendly service.

This is a historical place when it comes to restaurants that have survived over the years in Abbotsford. German all the way with the cuisine. Great value and the food is amazing. I also love the atmosphere which provides alot of class with comfort.

Excellent hidden gem. Not on a main street. All old wood. This is not a new place but the service and food quality is why they are still in business. Had the sausage and schnitzel. Excellent. Came out hot with fantastic spaetzle and red cabbage. The best spaetzle I have had in a long time. Very flavorful.
And they have warsteiner in tap.
Very comfortable atmosphere. I recommend it.

Really nice atmosphere, very pleasant staff. This restaurant specializes in schnitzel but their steak good also. If you're celebrating something they will give you a piece of cake with a beautiful decorative plate

Great food, got seated fast and got drinks decently fast.

Food took shorter than expected to arrive but they forgot one of our two appetizers, 3 fresh oysters. They brought them out asap when I asked about them and brought out an extra.

We have been twice now, and will continue to come back. The food is amazing, the ambiance is so perfect and comforting, and the service is stupendous. I will take them over the Keg any day!

The Caesar salad was packed with cheese just now I like. Steak and shrimp were delicious. Veggies were bland and I didn't touch them lol. Usually I love veggies but to be honest I was so full. My father had the lobster bake schnitzel and he said it was very salty.. but I had some tastes and it was good. The service was good!

A bit on the pricey side but the food was good and the belinis were to die for.

What a treat! Didn't even know this place was here. We found this place from a person sitting next to us at a different place. The details: Service is top notch! I cannot say anything more than how impressed we were with her. The food is amazing. My husband ate (probably) too many oysters! I had the steak oscar and he had the salmon. You feel good here.

Great food. Prime Rib, Lobster Tail, and Mashed Spuds, plus those beautiful waitresses with smiles so big they could stop a war. And the prices are great to. A man like me, part of the working poor demographic can afford to eat like a King.

Brought my fiance for a birthday surprise after a colleague recommended it/ The atmosphere and decor is classy and intimate - great for a romantic dinner as well as a night out with friends. The food was delicious and the servers were very friendly and knowledgeable. They gave him a birthday dessert and sang 'happy birthday handsome' which he loved. It was a lovely touch on an already wonderful evening.

The food was good. Portion size was small thou for what you are paying...but good flavour. Only a few of the servers were actually pleasant. Others were more like drones.

Very good food. I had the prime rib it was very good and a big amount As for my other half she the same, She also had a bleellime it was very yummy. The staff are very friendly and joke around with one another keep eveything in sync resulting in great communication which transforms in to great service.

Hidden gem!! The food was amazing, I love LOVE the atmosphere and the staff were great. Perfect place for a fancy date night out, or drinks and appies with friends.

Food was good, had a few things for the kids menu. Nice atmosphere and clean washrooms! Would definitely go again. Be aware to anyone with mobility issues - there is a flight of stairs to climb to access the restaurant.

My reduction of one star is in regards to pandemic precautions, there weren't really any. No wait staff were wearing masks or face shields, no physical distancing in place. I did see menus being sanitized, however they were only wiping down the outside, none of the inside pages were being cleaned.

Great food, great service, a little pricey, but well worth the trip

The food is always great here. So is the service! Tonight we had bacon wrapped scallops, prime rib dinner and beef wellington dinner. The pictures don't do it justice as we started before I remarried to take a pic!

Fairly disappointed on Valentine's Day. Served a steak dish that looked more like something from a Denny's menu. Nothing like the picture on the website. Instant mashed potatoes were an insult and Jackson Triggs white highly over priced. Tip for the chef. Leave out the garnish of a piece of lettuce with a quarter tomato on top.

Steak was well cooked and waitress was friendly and efficient.

The food is pretty good, but sometimes it can be too heavy. I like the privacy but it's very dark and sometimes a bit dirty.

We went there to celebrate my birthday When we got there we were surprised how busy it was. Was asked if we had reservations and we said no. Told hostess it was my birthday and she found us a table. From there on it was some of the best service in a restaurant we have had in a long time. The food very good and served hot. The outside appearance is deceiving. It looks like a two story warehouse. The only negative to the restaurant in it has quite a few steps up To restaurant. Parking is a bit lean as well. We will definitely return even though I find the stair difficult to climb. Food and ambiance makes it all worth while. The game me a piece of cake as well

This used to be a family favourite, a go-to when we had something to celebrate. We have often populated a booth for hours and spent a fair amount. But our last meal there was so bad that we've never gone back. We showed up on a Sunday without a reservation and were treated quite badly. They seated us at a central table that was too small for five people, and rocked because it was uneven. The chairs were very low to the ground and so uncomfortable. It was actually quite funny and we were laughing about it until it took 15 minutes for a server to even look at us. I had to go to the bar to ask for service. Our food took forever and, when it finally came, it was gritty and overcooked. When we asked if there was a new cook and complained about our meals the waitress was openly annoyed. Our bill was ludicrous for what we had. A shame because it was once so great.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Reasonable prices No complaints at all. Ideal for a quiet quaint conversation. Definitely would come back again.

The service was good and the prime rib was absolutely awesome! This place puts The Keg to shame if you're a prime rib enthusiast like I am, and at a lower to cost. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, the goulash tasty and the bread freshly made.

Good German beer, too!

Nice setting, food is hit and miss. It can be awesome at times and not so good at others. Best bet is to go earlier in the evening. Waitress doesn't actually listen to the customer just smiled and nods..
Overall the management makes up for any short comings on behalf of the staff. I still recommend this restaurant for an evening out

Well prepared food. Professional service. Warm atmosphere. Would eat at again.

I've been twice in the last couple of months - once for two and a second time with a group of 12. Both times the service was excellent, and the steak and prime rib were amazing. I haven't had beef that good since leaving Alberta! I still like the Keg, but Bavaria's better. The only downside is the lack of parking.

This is a hidden gem. Delicious German food plus seafood, steak, full choice appies. Moderate cost, friendly staff that do their job well and with a sense of urgency. Many menu choices that aren't available at a lot of restaurants.

Bavaria Restaurant was a pleasant surprise, the atmosphere was calming and romantic. Our appetizers arrived quickly and hot. Dinner was great, we all had different schnitzel but each was awesome.

I started taking my wife on dates to the Bavaria when our boys were young. We go there to celebrate with friends and enjoy an excellent meal. Most recently we returned with our three adult sons and enjoyed the quality we have come to expect. Whether you are looking for intimate dining, a family meal, or a celebration the Bavaria provides excellent food, beverages, atmosphere, and service at great value. It's my number one choice for dining in Abbotsford! Thanks to Dana and the entire Bavaria family for the many great dining experiences!!

Mediocre food and not really authentically German, the servers don't even speak German.

What an amazing experience. From the minute we walked in the door we were taken care of like family.General vibe is so lovely. Candels on tables , fireplaces ...We felt instantly relaxed. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive .And the STEAK! They also treated us with surprise birthday dessert.I can't speak highly enough of this place. Treat yourself to a special date night with the most wonderful staff who will look after you .

We have been here four times. Each time it's the same. Will not go into this filthy, health jeopardizing hole again. On our fourth and final visit. After listening to them scream at each other in the kitchen and practically throw the menus on the table, we were presented with our drinks. Just as I leaned in to drink I looked into the straw and saw it was full and crusted with crud. They gave us what could only be used, put through the dishwasher, straws. I almost puked. We had ordered already so I felt I should stay and see how it turned out. My filet mignon arrived and right away I could see it wasn't right. It looked microwaved. The smell that eliminated from it was rancid. You go here, have your living will ready and your life insurance up to date. Salmonella, botulism, you name it, they will heat it up and serve it to you like they are doing you the favor. Stay clear especially when other fantastic restaurants are so close by.

I laughed when I read the Response from the owner. Had a lot of disgruntled employees have you. I do not doubt that.

My friends and I came for dinner here and really loved it. The waitress was super friendly and checked on us often even though they were really busy on a Saturday night! The food was amazing. Huge plates of carefully placed food. We decided to have dessert and the plates were nicely decorated with designs of chocolate. I was very impressed!

We have been coming to this restaurant for probably 20 years. It definitely has changed over the years as the atmosphere has become much more classy. However the food has never changed it's always been fantastically great. This is definitely our go to seafood restaurant. The staff are always amazing. The prices are really good for the portions.

Romantic date night! Very warm & cozy atmosphere, ordered a nice bottle of wine and our server was a delight always came to make sure our glass's were topped off! Ordered the Bavaria schnitzel and prime rib which were both amazing, schnitzel was so filling and packed with flavour & the prime rib was amazing. Have a great selection of desserts & was nice to be able to take our wine home since we couldn't finish it all. Overall fantastic evening with friendly staff to make our night special, great food & good prices

I've been coming here over a decade, the food is fantastic every single time, service is excellent, the menu amazing, and love that it's second generation owners!!

Great experience my first time here the staff are friendly I had the escargot and it was awesome to see them flambae it at the table n the flavor was to put it the best thing I've eaten in my life had the jaguar snichal was mellow and delicous the red cabbage amazing all around the amazing 5 of 5

I am amazed that when I made my reservation to go for dinner with my husband, and mentioned that he has to bring his oxygen with him because of his lung disease, that she didn't mention that there are a flight of stairs to climb. Since we took a cab to the restaurant and the cab left us at the door, he decided to climb up , with great difficulty and breathlessness. That was the bad thing about the restaurant, and with that I will say the food was very good , but we probably won't be going back just because the flight of stairs. I didn't mention when I first wrote this review that my hubby ordered the prime rib but it was awful so they took it away and gave him the schnitzel, didn't charge him for the prime rib.

Everything was really great with the vegetarian schnitzel but the menu should maybe more clearly mention what it comes with and add more fresh salad with it since there is fried food here and vegetarians purpose is usually for the best health. Bavaria exceeded my expectations very well though
