Went for a big family meal. The place has just been refurbished looks amazing inside and very spacious. Food was the best Italian I ve eaten out side Italy. Considering he size of our party (12) and how busy the restaurant was we didn t have to wait an excessive amount of time for our food. I would recommend barolos to anyone in the Bournemouth area who wants some good Italian food. 5/5

An excellent evening spent at this restaurant. Due to current restrictions we were allocated a 90 minute slot but at no time did we feel rushed. Our servers Andrea and Natalie were extremely polite and friendly and added to a very enjoyable experience. The food was outstanding and very reasonably priced for the standard of food delivered. I would definitely highly recommend this establishment to anybody looking for excellent food and first class service!

Worst experience of Our lives this evening. Had a home delivery, the delivery bag split all over the carpet of my hallway. The mussels and tomato sauce went all up the white walls and the door, the delivery driver then left.
I called him back he phoned up and got another mussels order set up and then left without offering to help me clean the mess by the time I finished cleaning the mess up wiping the walls and door down and cleaning the mussels and the tomato sauce stains out of my carpet my pizza was freezing cold.

I then found out the driver accused me of ripping the bag open, I explained the bag was soaking wet from the sauce because the mussels hadn't been put in the container properly and I have the bag as evidence to show you if you like the man on the phone then said "oh ok madam we'll get another order of pizza sent to you as well but it'll be half an hour between the mussels being done well in that case my order won't be here till 23:45" so I had no mussels and a cold pizza worst takeaway experience of my life not recommended to anybody .....and for the driver to accuse me of ripping the bag open knowing the mussles were not in their container properly well that is just dreadful......

To continue, it has taken my partner and I 5 days to get the smell out of the carpets, it's still not 100% smell free. We had to buy new matting for the communal stairway as the smell and the staining was irreversible on it.

Overall we felt wronged being accused of ripping the bag open and chucking the contents on the floor, being told if we want the mussels cooked again then it will be the same price as the first order, if we want a hot pizza then we'd have to return the cold one and not being treated fairly when calling them.

Everyone seems to praise this place on it having a good atmosphere, not the overpriced food,;you can get more authentic Italian food in the frozen pizza section of a supermarket, the food is over priced and not good especially salads that include iceberg lettuce, the only positive thing is the staff are friendly

We recently came here for a birthday dinner. I have personally been to Barolo previously before its remodeling. The restaurants new look is very modern and nicely laid out. The food was exceptional. The services was on the slow side, but our waiter was rather entertaining. I have given it 4 stars for the slow service and the remodelling, as I preferred it before.

Outstanding service from start to finish, and the food was absolutely perfect. The restaurant was very clean and we cant wait to come back! The prices are very reasonable and the food portions are very generous.

Staff are lovely and friendly. Environment is clean and tidy all the time. Staff are on the ball and very kind. Table service is available. On birthdays you get a free alcoholic shot and a happy birthday message. welcoming environment. A little busy at times but staff still treat everybody with respect and are happy to help at any time. We normally have delivery but decided to go in this time and couldn't fault a thing. Toilets are clean and very modern. Disabled parking available and restaurant is disabled accessible. Would highly recommend.

Had a lovely meal here, the owner is very friendly, the food is good and the price is very reasonable. My only wish is that they open up another restaurant near my house as Bournemouth is an hour's drive away.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for a wonderful and delicious meal which was delivered to us during COVID-19 Plan demic.
.
It was a Birthday gift from a dear friend and I was instructed to go "all out"... so my wife and I ordered starters, I had a steak for main and she had see bass and a desert each!
.
The food arrived on time, was piping hot and absolutely delicious. My steak was HUGE and cooked to perfection (medium-rare). We could not finish it all and will be re-visiting the leftovers with much anticipation the next evening. Tiramisu and profiteroles were phenomenal...
.
Once again, thank you for an excellent meal! We will no doubt be back when we are "released" and are able to visit your restaurant or if "the new norm" prevents that, we will no doubt be ordering a takeaway option!!

I'm not a fan of Italian food, fifteen quid for a glorified toasted cheese and tomato sandwich has always struck me as a bit much, but this place is OK. The staff tend to be over familiar but they wander off if you ignore them. Good place for birthdays and the like, certainly better than that appalling Toby Carvery in Northborne.

This is my favourite restaurant in Bournemouth based in Winton they are always very welcoming an the food is second to none. Very friendly staff will do anything to make sure your experience is the best. All there food is freshly made to a versy high standard I know I've seen an I'm very very fussy. What every you decide to order will be the best an freshly cooked to perfection the size of the portion are very generous so be prepared to be fed very well. My rating for this restaurant is 5* plus bk you won't be disappointed. JOHN GEMINI

Went here with the family and children for my fathers 90th birthday celebration. Fantastic and friendly place, nothing was too much trouble for them. Looks great now they have refurbished it. Food was amazing. Will definately go again.

Highly overrated, but a favourite of the Bournemouth Echo.
We came here, 14 strong, on the back of a rave review in the Biuenemouth Echo... presumably they got to eat free and had preferential service, because their account and mine couldn't be further apart!

Difficult online booking service, with no confirmation of receipt, we ended up ringing to book instead.

On arrival, the staff were attentive, perhaps overly so, but this is an Italian restaurant.

A range of startes were tasty, from garlic mushrooms, whitebait, calamari, garlic bread, olives and more ... all delicious ... but, I'm afraid, the glowing review ends there!

Have you EVER been to an authentic Italian restaurant that serves a range of rice dishes, but NOT risotto?
Stodgy bowls of white rice in some non-descript tomato sauce with vegetables, (the only main on the menu suitable for a vegan IF you specifically ask, so they don't add butter or parmesan), or seafood.

Pasta dishes, mostly edible but, frankly, could have been a portion of microwaved 'Tesco Finest' ... actually ... it wasn't even that nice.
The lasagna... well, let's just say, when we brought that to their attention, they immediately took it off the bill and offered a free dessert... The lasagna was disgusting and I have absolutely no doubt it was not prepared the same day!

One of our party had a chicken dish ... my kids are all grown up now, but let's just say, I was reminded of soiled nappies!

Sweets ... nice enough, but definitely not 'just like Mamma used to make' ... we asked if there were any vegan pudding options and were told, the box for the Tiramisu says it has sulphates in it and the carton for the sorbet doesn't say whether or not it's vegan!

So ... for the menu ... say what you like about your Zizzi / Pizza Express / etc ... at least you can see your food being freshly prepared!

At best, our food was fresh out of the microwave!

Now ... the service ... I do appreciate that a larger party, in a busy restaurant can be a challenge, but that's why we are paying hard earned money to eat out rather than try and so it ourselves at home ... what I don't expect is pressurised staff, leaning across guests to deliver meals / pepper / parmesan without a simple 'excuse me'.

Sorry - I know you're the darling of Bournemouth Echo reviewers (who doesn't love a free meal!) ... but you missed the mark for us - by a long way!

Back to Bellagio for us for an authentic Italian meal for the family from now on.

Overpriced, badly cooked, cheap ingredients!! I had a chicken breast that was so overcooked I couldn't get a knife through it. A friend had cheese and ham pasta-the ham was reconstituted, out of a packet!!
