Largest B&N store, short of the main headquarters on 5th Ave. & 18th Street - just a couple of blocks in a NW direction.

Multi-floor rest/coffee stops, plus plenty of off-the-self reading space make for a most pleasant casual reading experience.

Staff members know where EVERYTHING is, so you can't "stump the panel" with the most exotic of book requests.

Although the main & annex stores have the largest stock of various genres of books (including college textbooks), the atmosphere is not as warm & welcoming as the Union Square store is, thanks to the massively friendly and helpful staff.

At first sight, prices may seem a bit high. However, if you're making multiple purchases, and you've got your BN card, you can get a few extra bucks knocked off the final price. It also doesn't hurt to ask what they can do to knock a few dollars more, based on their sales/specials of the day.

If you're looking for something solitary and quiet to do within the noisy hustle & bustle that is NYC, this BN store in Union Square is perfect - rain or shine! Enjoy!

Great little cozy store with a bug selection and a staff that goes above and beyond to assist you any way they can. Also has great seating for a quick read, or to just relax.

It's Barnes and Noble what can I say. Spacious store some of the staff could use better customer service but over all great place. Great selection and if they dont have it they will order it.

Bookstores are great. Very extensive selection. Reading is a lost art, especially anything of substance. The loss of thoughtful communication is troubling. Looking at blogs on your phone doesn't quite cut it. Put the phone down, shut it off & pick up a book, preferably one without photos & pictures. There are plenty of morons & idiots, separate yourself.

Probably one of the biggest Barnes & Noble stores. Several floors. And they can print books in the store. Pretty neat.

Awesome selection of foreign DVDs and the sellers are super helpful. Multi floor (with clean toilets) building arrangement. The books, vinyl, toys and cafe are decent as well. They have a good variety of authors and other guest speakers.

I love this flagship location of B&N. Great selection of books on multiple floors and friendly customer service. With the death of many old chains, I hope people support them.

Poor customer service and no price match (even with their online store). Went to Amazon. Why do I need to pay a 200% mark-up?

Clean place. Has lots and lots of books ranging from cooking to self-help. Staff is very courteous.

The cafe is quiet mornings. Offers a good view of the square, the hubbub that surrounds (and sometimes comes inside!) plus there's books! Three floors of books! And LEGOs! Funny how in the age of Amazon, a Barnes and Noble feels special

Great place with much selection in store. Multiple floors with escalators and elevators to acelcess each floor. They also have their own cafe so you can start your morning and/or lunch juat right. Speakeasy vibes as well. Great spot!

Love this store! Selection of books is simply endless! Any reading fan can spend a couple of hours in there.
Added music section with lotta vinyls and cd's so thats nice as well.

Barnes and noble, is adopting the same great place. They are still trying to revamp and fix the store up. Before the pandemic outbreak began. It slowly getting back to where it was and hope to get better

The most classiest and charming bookstore in the World. I love this place!! You will not find a better selection of books anywhere else! Cozy cafe with great coffee and pastries with ample seating giving you a personal view of Union Square. Open late!

Bookstore diversity includes restaurant, coffee, cake, sandwiches, etc. Magazines, gift shop and music department. Restrooms Art History books as well as books about everything you can imagine.

It is a very calming place there is a cafe inside and you get free water. You can say they have every book in the world

Only reason that this place doesn't have 2 stars is because the place is impeccably maintained, other than that it is no surprise brick and mortar bookstores are closing. Checkout can take over an hour at times, and help can be hard to come by.

Buy a magazine and/or coffee and grab a seat at the window that overlooks Union Square. It faces south so you'll catch some rays while you sip/read.

Perfect location! In Union Square! I have a 4yr old girl and she loves to play legos on the second floor and read books on the the reading area!

One of the last reigning B&Ns in the city. It's usually a bit crowded, but let's keep it that way.

Go shop with lots of bargains to be found. From books to furniture to groceries. Like any bargain outlet the selection of goods is alwaus changing so if not on this visit may be on your next visit. They have fantastic prices, prices that are better than many other bargain outlets or regular retailers.

Love going to B&N but the cafe is always crowded and there is no where to sit except for on the floor with a basket of books.

It's a little corporate and uniform for my taste, and they organize the store based on marketing research instead of common sense. But they have a lot of good stuff.

This is my favorite New York City Book Store. Multiple Floors of books ranging from all subjects. They also have a place to sit and read, maybe have a coffee and it's overlooking Union Square Parks Pavilion... Beautiful View, Great book store.....

We need more Barnes and Nobles throughout the country. This is THE multiplex of bookstores.

I heart this location of all the locations. The way it's set up. The ease of finding things without needing help. If you do need help the customer service is great. Actually I also love the 160 E 54th St location for the same reasons.

Now this is a bookstore! Huge, 5 floors with escalators, cafe and so on. One of the biggest bookstores. The staff is helpful and courteous.
Just go!
