there are too many perfectly good "used" dogs at dog pounds across the nation....Why would somebody neglect to realize this?
Also, every time someone buys a "puppy Factory" dog, they're encouraging those heartless people to breed more!!!
How about not supporting a place that knowingly supports puppy mills and animal abuse.
While expensive, they have many perks in buying your next puppy with many discounts given to extra puppy essentials including food, color/leash, half-off carrying cases and much more! We love our bundle of joy and are so happy that Barkworks helped us find her! Thank-you!
I used to work years ago there...not the best conditions, we as employees would try to take of the pups as best we could but when the most important thing to a company is the sales numbers you can lose the sensitivity to the fact that these animals are living breathing creatures that need love and care once my focus went to taking better care of the pups and less about how many I could sell I was fired I left on good terms and the people at the local stores are nice decent people but I do tend to question the morality of the owners and puppie breeders they use.
I purchased my Yorkie from here in March of this year and he has been battling Giardia since I purchased him. My vet said he sees a lot of these cases with dogs that are purchased from Barkworks. My dog has been in out of the Vet 7 times.
In addition, I have a payment plan with them and I was able to select a date for them to withdraw the money from my account & they still took the money out before time. The manager Angie is never available to resolve the issue and they have withdrew my account early twice.
Why do they require to run your credit score thats not right
To the lady who commented below me...(Patricia) sos una tarada. Do the animal world a favor and never get pets. You are an idiot! Why would you buy a pet and then return it because it had problems? Which i might add isnt the stores fault. You are heartless and shouldnt even have pets. Why couldnt you keep her and you try and help her? What are her chances of beeing adopted if she was ill or hip problems? Would you return your kids if they were ill once born? Animals all need love and care and if you cant provide anything at all for any pet, then dont get any animals to begin with. They arent toys that you use and then toss away. It isnt the pet stores duty to pay back vet bills for something they arent responsible for. They cant predict what a pet has wrong after its sold.
This is the worst Barkworks I have ever seen. Avoid at all costs. I am not against puppy stores for any philosophical reasons, this is a review of the operation of the business.
We phoned ahead to see if they had a specific dog. They said yes so my wife told them we will be driving in and arrive in around an hour. When we arrived, we were told that you are not allowed to see the dogs until after you pay for them. These dogs cost 5x more than from breeders due to high overhead costs, which is reasonable, I understand that part of the business. That said, if you are going to charge 5x more for an arguably inferior product, you must provide some sort of other service to compensate.
Obviously this is not the store policy, this boy they had as the only employee just lied to us because the manager couldn't or wouldn't find a second employee to help him out.
How the hell does this people sell dogs? Why the rest of the world don't see this? Animals inside of glass box in summer and they can't even breath. This store should be close down. Who the hell works there? Heartless people? It's hard to walk around without get heartbroken. Disgusting!
Terrible care and hygiene. Dogs together in window given only 2 treats!! They rah need 1-they are pack animals!!! They will fight!
I watched the video from Nov. 20, 2016 of the little white puppy eating the wall of the store and ingesting toxic material! The employees and management are extremely neglectful. I wonder if the puppy is still alive!
People need to STOP buying puppies or even supplies here so this store can close down.
We bought a german shepherd puppy here in early september of 2014. Not only did the pup not eating well as the girl who sold us the dog said had not been eating well because the pup probably missed her brother and sisters, we bought her and we were all happy. However we couldn't get her to eat she had loose stinky stools. We took her to our vet and she had giardia. He also noted that she was too skinny. We tried feeding her different foods until we finally found a food she eats well. Now after she is the princess if the house and 7 months old we noticed she began walking funny, played less and wouldn't get on to the car for our morning drives. She would stand and cross her hind legs and sits alot. When she sits her hind legs looks like she is a frog. We took her again to the vet and after testing and xrays she has hip dysplasia on both hips. We contacted barkworks as they do have a return policy that states they will refund us 150% of the dog including vet costs and they now say that we can return our girl for only the purchase price. Not only will they keep our baby and refund us the money just for her but we are asked out of all the vet fees we have been paying. We don't even know what will happen to her. They said they will sell her to someone who can afford to to pay for both her hips to be fixed. This is heart breaking having to take our girl back because they won't pay up the vet bills. We would of used that money and applied it towords one of her hips and saved until we had enough for the other hip. She will have a long road to recovery. They don't care about the dogs they sell or where they are going... I'm scared they will sell her off to someone who wont know something is wrong with her and she will end up in a bad place. This place needs to be closed down.
I don't like that place the puppies sometimes are to big to in a small place we are in a very hot summer and the don't have water they u have lil holes and most of the time they are close to those holes to breath yesterday I went and I feel so sad I wish I can get them out to put them in a better place I wish I could have a bigger house
I went to the Cerritos shopping center, and my heart was shattered in pieces. Those poor little puppies/dogs are kept in such small spaces with little ventilation and food. Heck, it even looks like they barely groom the poor babies.
Those pups are living beings, not objects to be kept on displays!
God reserves a special place in hell for people who shop at places like this. It is inhuman and beneath contempt the way this evil company treats dogs.
I got my westie a year ago and she's never left my side.she's my best friend thank you barkworks;)
