Great place to take your dog for a groom, a stay, or just a day camp

Just discovered this place and was super excited that we could take our dog swimming this winter. The pool is large and warm, perfect for an older dog.

This is the only place I will board my pup. The staff is always super friendly and the facility is very clean. I highly recommend giving them a try for grooming services as well.

Staff was rude. Didn t know about K9 influenza until the day of drop off when they asked for the records. There was no mention of it on their website and nothing was said over the phone. Lost a whole day of a 3 day vacation trying to something else.

Great place to keep your best friends when you're away. Great staff to work with do an outstanding job on grooming and bathing I recommend them highly keep up the good work

Love the pool here. Our dogs have learned to swim here. We love it.

I cannot comment on their grooming but I can comment on their customer service. I called several weeks ago to schedule an appointment, they said the groomer would be on vacation for a week so it would be a bit and scheduled me for Friday June 15 at 9. I called the day before to discuss drop off time (she asked for my dogs name then, too) and told them I had another important appointment at 830 and wondered if I could drop him off at 8. They said yes. Well I got there and they didn t have him scheduled. I understand things happen but nothing was done to make it right and Continued to ask me who I spoke to and what day I called like it was my fault or I didn t really have an appointment( how would I know their groomer was on vacation and drop off and pick up times if so) , never once apologized- even after I told her this would ruin my whole day and I have to cancel my next important appointment because I have to drive back the opposite way to drop my dog back off at home. Just offered to get him back the end of next week. I specifically got this date because I would be off work and I m going on vacation next week. I won t return.

Great place to leave your Dog. They treated our baby excellently and us too! Highly recommend this place to anyone.

My dogs they loved there. The swimming pool the outdoors the people! They loved so much we are going to drive 4 hr to drop them off.

Barkside is great! The facility is always clean and the employees are always helpful. They require all boarders be current on vaccinations. My daughter drove 2 hours to board her dog there during vacation! Thank you for providing a safe retreat for our dogs !

Have been taking my dog here for a few months now and she loves it. The staff seem really nice and enjoy having Frankie there. I like the fact they give the dogs play time with humans and other dogs. Also nice when you get home and your dog just wants to lay down and cuddle for once. Thank You!!

Have boarded our dachshund there many times and she loves it. Very nice and clean facility with a very attentive staff. Dogs are taken out to play several times per day. Small socialized dogs get to hang out with the office staff meaning they get to sit on laps and petted. We have never had a complaint about Barkside Lodge. We even drive out of our way to board there.

In town for a family health emergency. Was able to make last minute arrangements for our dog to stay here. Great staff. Dogs seemed to be well cared for. Small dogs were playing together behind the desk. They offer a doggie day camp as well as boarding.

Facility was very clean and the staff is exceptional!

Super nice staff, took great care care of our dog when we went on vacation. The groomer did an excellent job trimming him up.

My dogs are so happy to go there and happy when they come out. The staff is incredibly sweet and knows every dog. They keep a clean facility and have multiple choices for boarding. It's awesome that you can take half a day or a whole day for their daycare. Most places you pay a set price for the whole day no matter what. I take two dogs there for half a day and it's only $16. Please tip, they are totally worth it. I haven't used the swim area yet but they'll let you try it once for free with your dog to see if your dog likes it. I absolutely recommend them.

Grover and Scout love the Barkside lodge! We have used Barkside for boarding, grooming, and day camp. Amanda (the groomer) does an amazing job on our doodles coats and is reasonably priced. The pups are always excited to go camping . Also, the staff is very friendly and seem quite knowledgeable. I would highly recommend the Barkside Lodge for your furry family members!

Went to this pool with high expectations. The first thing I noticed is that the girl at the desk was quite unhelpful. I wasn t told if there was a changing room (I wanted to swim with my dog) so I had to change in the pool area. The second thing I noticed is that the pool area, not the water, was 57*. The water was colder. When confronting the employee about this she immediately started treating me like I was a jerk and saying they had a new HVAC that worked great to warm the room up. Trying to dry my dog off I was shivering and still am.
Highly disappointed in this business.

We've been boarding our dogs here for many years. The staff is so friendly, and they've always taken great care of my dogs.

It's pricey but worth it. Our dogs seem to get the best care and plenty of play time. They are never stressed out when we pick them up.

Our pup Arya loves going to Daycare and she had a great time when we boarded her! I can also book her for grooming services while she is already there for the day which is very convenient.

We've boarded at multiple other places without an issue for years. This place happened to be conveniently located for us this time. Upon intake we very clearly specified the caveats about one of our dogs and what can be done to easily prevent and or avoid them. This fact was apparently not communicated among other employees nor noted on a file as upon retrieving our pets, a caretaker was extremely rude in telling us what we had already told them. I imagine this is due to not being informed by the intake employee of these exact issues and easy precautions to take to avoid them. This could have resulted in an extremely horrible situation. We were also told that they would rather not board a dog like ours in the future due to the extra effort it would require. Interpret that how you will. No other boarding facility has ever said that or had an issue like Barkside Lodge did. I'm sorry, but this is a boarding facility and not every dog is perfect or going to be perfect. Its a new place for dogs and can be extremely stressful. Unfortunately they are not competent enough to realize this and handle it accordingly to prevent catastrophic situations from happening. Needless to say, very, very unsatisfied with the service provided and the employees.

My fur babies are high maintenance at home. At first I didn't think mine could socialize they asked if they could try it. I agreed and what a difference it has made in my dogs. They are so much happier when they come home. Worn out from so much play. The staff is very loving to all the doggies. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WHO LOVES THEIR DOGS.

Lucy gives Barkside s daycare two paws up! She runs into the building all by herself and she s tired 100% of the time I pick her up!

I used to worry to death about boarding her when I go out of town, but now I am 100% comfortable with boarding. They have awesome boarding options!

And don t forget about Amanda, their groomer, she s great! Lucy looks so clean and kept after being groomed.

I could go on and on about how in love I am with Barkside, but you definitely need to check it out to believe it!

It was awful today we tried to get my dog pepper in and the woman at the front said Do you have your shot records so we gave em them her shots last year were from louden county animal shelter and some from tractor supply vet and she says I m sorry we don t accept those shots and we re like what the HECK we are going to Townsend for a 9 day vacation and we don t have a place for her now my dads friend that forgets to feed her is gonna have to take care of her cuz of YALL

What a delightful location to try your pup out with swimming!

The heated pool was clean and well maintained, and our group had the whole space to ourselves to ease in our nervous dog.

While on the way back to the pool, we passed lots of boarding doggos who looked delighted to be there.

These folks will clearly care for your furry family members.

First of all this place smells horrible. I understand it's a boarding facility but it Was just bad. I rescued my dog in Arizona last year from an animal shelter and afterwards he was diagnosed with valley fever which is a non contagious fungal infection , mainly specific to the southwestern United States I'll let them know that it was non-contagious and that that was the reason he was limping, and then a lady came up and told me that I needed a letterhead from my vet stating that it was a non-contagious condition before they would allow him to be boarded there. You can easily Google this and find that it is not contagious dot-dot. I understand that it is not common in Tennessee but I feel as though you should educate yourself if you are going to be dealing with animals, period. Would give zero stars if I could.

Will be boarding my 2 for the first Time girls very nice place super clean and they ty look me on a tour I think my fur babies will be well taken care of there.

We took our Lab to the pool. She loves it! Very clean and not too much chlorine.

Our dogs have been going to Barkside for several years and are always well cared for and happy when they come home. They enjoy day camp and swimming, and the staff is great with our bird dogs who are used to LOTS of exercise. My parents have started taking their small dogs there as well because they enjoy that the dogs can be free to roam with the group up front during the day.

Love this place. ALWAYS a pleasurable experience for me and my Bernedoodle.
