Lovely day to sit outside and enjoy a drink in castle fields great spot

Of my favorites in Manchester, when it's good weather, it's all right on the river, the courtyard with lawns and white tables make up a very nice setting, summer baking sausages in the yard. In general it is very good

Nice please to drink some beers with friends in a sunny day

Used a Groupon voucher for unlimited pizza and prosecco. Great offer, lovely venue.

Located in the Catalan square in a very nice corner, overlooking the canal. On the other hand, you get there by going under some imposing, very cinematic bridges

Pretty average drink selection. Good beer garden for the warm weather though. Good number of people around at 7ish on a Fri night. Can't speak for later or midweek.

Freezing cold, sat with our coats on it was so cold! Music was really loud so we asked for it to be turned down, which they did. Within minutes they'd turned it back up again! Apparently they didn't have the first wine we asked for, the bottle we were given had obviously been tampered with as it was full to the brim. On asking for another, they magically found a bottle of the first wine - incompetent staff. Never checked stock unless you asked twice. Was told the kitchen was closed at 8pm on a Friday, bearing in mind they close at 3am but when we asked to order food at 8.50pm people in the restaurant were still eating?! Unless you want to sit in the cold, pay for overpriced drinks served by incompetent staff and have to shout to have a conversation when there's only 10 of you in the whole place, I'd go somewhere else.....

Awful lunch time experience. Lack of communication between management and staff as to what the deals were. Little to no urgency from the staff in charge of the barbeque. Misleading lunch time offer which resulted in getting less value for our money. Not going for food there again! Would happily go for a drink, provided its not as flat as my last experience.

Been here before for drinks in the summer - it was nice to sit outside but pricey compared to other places! Recently tried to book a table for food and enquire about the menu through the website and email but nobody bothered to respond! Surrounding bars / restaurants are definitely more welcoming and worth visiting.

Went for a leaving do meal here last week. Think this place needs to accept it s better at being a bar than it is a restaurant - just focus on one area. Food had been pre-ordered to come out at 8pm. Between the first main meal and the last main meal coming out it was about an hour. Ridiculous! I d finished my food long before the final girl on our table was even served hers. And the food wasn t great or memorable for the price.

Pint prices a little top heavy and the bar is a bit "showy" for my own tastes but otherwise the staff and service was great.

Why bother. Service is horrendous. We waited half an hour for a drink. Then they served the drink to the wrong table and the wrong table got it for free. We had to wait for even longer...........

Really disappointed with our experience. Booked for grandaughter's 21st and arrived to be told didn't know anything about it by the door staff. Eventually found which room it was being held in as there was no signage at the front of the building. When we went in we were served flat beer in a sadly stocked bar. My daughter cut her finger on a faulty lock on the loo door and the party was forced to end early as we were told not enough money was being made over the bar despite having paid exorbitant price for the room. Disgraceful.

We ordered two beefburgers, a goats cheese burger and a chicken salad. After the food didn't appear for a while I went in to ask. The member of staff said they should have informed us at the time of ordering that it would be 40 minutes.. He said he'd have a word with the chef. When I saw him return, only to start chatting to a group of staff at the end of the bar I realised that he'd just left me hanging around, feeling stupid. We ended up waiting an hour and twenty minutes for two of the items to appear and a further five for the remaing two items. The fries were luke warm. We had paid at time of order so had to wait. We were only in Manchester for the day, so felt like we'd wasted time for what should have been fast food. Incidentally, they didn't seem to be bringing much in the way of food out or weren't overly busy at the bar, so I have no idea what the delay was.

Very expensive but a good venue of the sun shines. Bar staff excellent.

Such a lovely atmosphere here, inside and out. Really wonderful for a romantic date-the view of the canal outside is so peaceful (though it s bustling...a walking/bike path runs right through it), so if you enjoy people watching it s your place. Great coffeeshop-style music. Food was asi-asi and not anything promised by its name, which suggests Spanish cuisine. Very few vegan friendly options. Just a couple revised dishes. I had the veganized Ploughman s sandwich. Pretty just a few veggies on white (read that: nearly Wonder) sandwich bread with shredded vegan cheese. I would ve gone with sliced cheese, but... My hubs went with pizza, which was particularly delicious!! Good attempt at vegan, but more a strong standard fare joint. Beer was ok...not fab. But again...the ambience inside and out was perfection! Go there for drinks and apps!!

Great looking bar but the food was a huge let down. I ordered 3 starters and only ate one of them. I was actually quite shocked at the low standard. battered calamari was cold, lamb koftas were nice and chicken wings were cold, not edible More

Attend the soul society nights which are held at Barca.
Excellent atmosphere,brilliant music, reasonably priced drinks..friendly staff especially head doorman (Carlton)
I'd recommend this night to all who enjoys a more mature night/experience.

Lacks atmosphere & character...it s one saving grace is it s outdoor seating which sits in amazing post-industrial Castlefield

Its a really good alternative to Dukes when the sun is shining. Barca has a nice beer garden with plenty of space, its a really great place to go when the surrounding bars are far too overcrowded especially if there is a big group of people

The food was delicious wine very nice and the staff were great. Very nice and friendly and attentative . Didnt have to wait long and also had a jug of water which had cucumber raspberries and grapes in it and it was so refreshing lovely touch..Lovely setting beside the canal. Will definately be back.w

Great location. Poorly served, over-priced drinks. How can you even serve a G&T without lemon/lime?

Lovely bar, bright and clean and mega friendly staff.

Very low ceilings and steep stairs down to toilets. Bar service was excellent. Went on Xmas party from work no expense spared however big drop down off dance floor, does that meet health and safety? It scared me

Was here for a joint stag hen doo. Accomodating staff and buffet food of pizzas was decent...for my drunken palette. :)

We attended a wedding reception here. The staff hosting the event were amazing. The space was great. Only downfall was they had to close the doors at 10:00PM and it got VERY hot in the room. Can't wait to visit again!

Bit of confusion about the food but the supervisor Hannah was great and sorted it for us. Ended up being worth the wait.

Fairly decent music. Sadly only non-alcoholic drinks were pop and squash.

Absolutely shambolic and disorganised for food orders. Got our order wrong and didn't convey this. Overpriced.

Terrible service, mixed up orders, forgot a friend's order

Went there recently for a Christmas party. Food was very poor, drinks selection was limited, and not enough seating provided. A rip off for the price we paid.

So this is a fab bar come rain or shine, the team work hard. With many function areas for people and events it s a great spot in the city! As well as me being the dj here, so obviously the music is great haha it s a great venue good location, parking is a tad tricky but not impossible. A great location for food and to relax in the sunshine with fab events a plenty

Stylish modern venue newly refurbished and what a difference.

. Too long waiting for drinks to be made. Getting served wasn't an issue the bar staff had to use a recipe book to make the cocktails. 2 new staff on a Friday night just made everything run slowly. I know everyone has to learn but I spent 15 minutes waiting for cocktails to be made on each occasion I went to the bar. The third drink I got was a bottle. Food was served with no cutlery and I couldn't find any,no way was I going back to the bar and waiting. So I ate the salad with my hands. Atmosphere was decent though. Just lost attention to detail and in an amazing city like Manchester with so many places to go I would never go back there. Door staff very friendly and polite, opening doors for you.

Attended a dance event.. Nice venue and staffed well. Parking was difficult, but it was late at night.

Visited here for a friend's wedding. Venue upstairs excellent, food was very good. Drinks on par with other city centre establishments

So nice lovely and friendly staff also lovely and clean will be returning
