Lovely food and good atmosphere very polite staff will be back for a Sunday lunch vee and Lynn Stalybridge

Who these guys are writing the reviews of barca since its impressive refurbishment must be in competition with them because it's not what I experienced today. The place looks like it's had a fortune spent on it, marble tables , white leather seating and fantastic staff who made me most welcome, and the food was cooked to perfection and in keeping with the average prices on casylefeild. Thanks guys me and the team will be back with out a doubt

Really cosy pub in deansgate. I really like this place for a quiet date.

Beer good. Tapas good only fault chicken was very very dry. Would go again though

A great place to eat with a group of friends, good Pizza and prosecco deals and only a short walk from Deansgate locks Manchester.

Very very busy in the summer, but a great location overlooking the canals and under the railways. Outside bar is very good and takes cards, but don't expect them to have the same selection of beers etc that they do inside. Still highly recommended

It's not a bad place for a Xmas party where it is quite and get the place to yourself.

Very poor service and was ripped off with two cocktails that had no alcohol in them. The staff are badly organised and apparently not trained (didn't know how to make a Mohito even though they are listed on the cocktail menu). A really disappointing experience. With so many other great bars in Manchester there's no point in coming here.

Great disappointment. Food took too long, the meat was not good and I had a prawn tail in my fries, which came 20 minutes after my main dish. Side Salat for the burger had to be requested and was not good, though.

The terrace area is really good in a sunny day so you can see the canal. Pricey though.

Great outdoor space for a day with good weather. Iniadenis more like a fans place as very often the sound is out on the rugby game and is pretty loud. Food is not bad but nothing special.

Sorry for putting here but. Van driver is danger on wheels, genuinely avoid as will have no qualms having an accident.

Waited 1.5 hours for food, wrong food came out, salad with hardly any toppings and one order didn't come at all as they had run out of burger bun!

We went here for our Christmas party, the bar itself is quite nice, and the buffet was nice, but only lager on option, no beer either cask/keg or bottled so many of us were a bit disappointed.

Very nice bar with comfortable seating. Also has outdoor seating. Serves a range of food. They do have very Loud music.

Recently refurbished and looking fabulous. Had a Groupon voucher for steak and chips and a bottle of wine and it was superb. Would recommend highly. The staff were very helpful and friendly and really pleasant afternoon spent at Barca. Will definitely be going again.

Place is really nice on the outside but the service was mediocre. The food was tasteless, not forgetting that orders took forever to arrive, the waitresses didn't seem like they knew what to do. We had to tell them to switch on the heaters because it was too cold and they couldn't even get space for all of us yet we had booked in advance. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

Celebrated our son's 21st birthday here on Friday 21st July 2017. Hired the Catalan room, gorgeous room. Food was excellent, all the staff catered for our every need. Couldn't fault the evening, the whole event was perfect. Would highly recommend. A big thank you to Jade, Harry, Faye and Daniel.

Lovely food on the whole but think the salt and pepper chicken were warm ups from last night. Maybe the Patatas bravas too. We ve had them here before and they were nicer then.
Still, the staff are lovely as are the surroundings but, you know, if you disappoint even one customer when you needn t have, then it s not quite good enough.

Dreadful service , beer shocking , food took over 2 hrs due to a wedding reception , well that was the excuse , never again

Not been there before but the outside seating area is very relaxing and pleasant with a outside Bar and nice views of Castlefield great on a day like today with the sun out

I visited Barca to photograph a private company event and they had hired out the top floor and terrace/balcony. I have to say this is a great location for a party and would recommend this to anyone. Great location close to other bars. If driving parking is tricky especially if there's an event as Castle field Bowl but we've managed it both times

Just amazing my favourite place in town.massive outdoor space and really nice staff.cocktails are amazing and a fab atmosphere

We ordered 2 rump steaks, 1 medium and 1 medium rare... The presentation was nice but the steaks were VERY poor. They were dry and both well done. We sent them back and received 2 equally poor steaks just a tiny bit better, still very overcooked to our liking, and there was only 4 covers that were eating in the restaurant so I can't find any excuse for this except the chef is incompetent and the steaks were poor quality. The other table of 2 sent a plate back because it was cold. We did receive a free cocktail each though, which was lovely. We ordered a bottle of Merlot which was also nice. The decor is lovely and the place is in a nice spot in Manchester... But unfortunately I have to say I'd definitely avoid food and Dukes 92 is MILES better it's only round the corner. Nice for drinks though!

Nice place, nice staff but prices changed throughout the night, not enough staff on so always waiting to be overcharged for drinks, same round was never the same price twice

Very very nice in here! The staff were really nice and attentive. The drinks are on the pricey side but it is Castlefield, but it s worth it

One of the nicest places to get a pint. The surroundings are really cosy and create a wonderful atmosphere.

Loved it here. We went to a friends 40th and he had the VIP room, sat outside on the balcony which was lovely as it was a lovely night and had great views. Its a pity we had to go inside at 10.30 yet the rooms below they could stand outside.

Nice selection of drinks, i love gin and found a new gin, i had the rhubarb gin and it was morish.
Would recommend it here and also other places on the wharf its a lovely venue

Not the usual plastic fantastic of chain pubs go for when doing a refurbishment of a "Local" pub.
Will become a really welcome focal point for locals.

A good spot in Castlefield but need more bars open when there's events on at the Bowl

I recently went to a wedding reception at Barca. The staff couldn't have been more helpful both on the day and with the advice they provided prior to the event. It was a great day helped by this brilliant venue and the wonderful attitude of the staff on the day

No wonder why dukes is always busy. Oh my god the service in Barca is absolutely awful. Bar man, waiter and the waitress weren t happy to help and work. Loved it when the system was down and no one could get served. Safe to say worst place in town.

If you go there for drinks or in the day then it might well suit alot of people however if you are planning on having an event then choose your function room very carefully! We went to Barca for a friends birthday party...disaster! the room we were in would have been fine if it wasnt for the event being held directly above us which meant the music playing upstairs could be heard downstairs in our party. And there was a DJ using part of our area to play to the outside crowd.
Guests from upstairs used our area as a walk through amd viewing gallery!.
The bar was inadequately stocked they ran out of drinks. They only had one women manning both sides of the bar. Toilets appalling, clearly no regular checks or cleaning was carried out throughout the day and evening. They clearly focus on making money over delivering a good service. Very doubtful if I or the other guests would ever be using Barca in the future.

Great Barca bar, on site in Castlefield. Fantastic music with DJI at yummy. Live atmosphere. Plenty of nice drinks. Had an amazing time at a wedding that was held in their upstairs room which was beautifully decorated . The DJ was amazing as were the bar and kitchen staff

Staff were lovely but the food was terrible. It was cold when it came out and took far too long; likely reason it had been left out after cooking before making it's way to the table. Would have normally sent it back but had only a limited time over lunch and couldn't be doing with the hassle.

Love this bar, my friend hired a private room here for her baby shower and it was beautiful, it has huge chandeliers, newly decorated with a separate bar and out door area connected to the private room. The staff were helpful and polite too.

A poor man's dukes. With a questionable and inconsistent door policy. In one of the best locations for sunny weather drinking but incredibly tacky. Make sure you arrive before the door staff as they seem to be both inexperienced and incompetent. Would not be surprised to see this business fail in the next year.

Sweaty chavs in shorts downstairs. Decent function room upstairs, and apparently a restaurant somewhere in the building.

Booked a table, long wait to order drinks arrived promptly but the food. We waited almost an hour for two Caesar salads, which turned up with mixed leaf salad very little bacon and no parmesan cheese. We spoke to the manager who was fantastic. Held his hands up acknowledged it wasnt right and comped the meal. He didnt need to do that but was a kind gesture. The salad was delish regardless and other tables food did look great. We will be back again and this hasn't put us off. Staff were great and hats off to the manager for sorting everything out, made our day with how professional and polite he was. We would definitely recommend this place to friends.
