No camp kitchen as described.

No camp kitchen as described.
Water was burning & out of control/ dangerous.
Too expensive for what you get.
Fuel is also overpriced if Esperance is 1.54, it doesn t cost more to take to Balladonia.
Just profiteering.
If your going to charge these prices lift your game.
I d recommend border Village cabins much better for same price.

Great Facilities.

Great Facilities.
Accommodation is clean and tidy and very comfortable.
Full kitchen for meals.
Price on fuel is good too.
Public toilets open 24hours.
Drop in for a break, grab a coffee and some yummy food.
Can not fault the place.

As you'd expect, prices here, due to the isolated location, are well above normal. We only stopped by the road house for a coffee, which was excellent by the way, and the bill was $13 (2 large). The young lady who served me was very pleasant. Tourist things were likewise marked up more than usual. Petrol ditto. Powered sites and basic motel facilities were available for the weary traveller. A plus was the free little museum attached to the cafe where you could see actual pieces of Skylab space station which reentered earth's atmosphere in 1979 (I remember this!), crashing into the desert in these parts. Great history well shown.

Good sized caravan park. Large drive through sites. With sun down come lots of campers. Amenities are very bad. Very unclean. Staff at reception are very friendly & helpful. Food at the restaurant is good. The museum is very interesting. Good for an overnight or emergency stay.

Travelling from Melbourne to Perth with my pregnan...

Travelling from Melbourne to Perth with my pregnant wife started off great. We were having a great run until we hit Balladonia and the road block due to bushfires. There were about 200 + people stranded over 2 days. The owner/manager of the roadhouse was exploiting the situation. Increasing accomodation prices, increases food and water prices and was even charging us $10 to have a shower. The attitude from her when I told her what she was doing was wrong was absolutely disgusting.
I can sell this room for $500 if I wanted to is exactly what she told me. We weren t going to pay her $170 for a night! How could anyone be expected to pay those prices. There was a middle aged woman who didn t get a room and ended up sleeping on another couples room floor for $50 a night. We slept in our car.
There were couples with young children and even a 6 month old that had to try and seek shelter from the sun, the owners duty of care to people there was 0. 1 litre bottles of water were $6 and when emergency supplies were dropped off- it turned out it was just extra stock for the roadhouse to sell.
In any type of disaster you d think that you would be helpful to those who are stuck and not take advantage of the situation to line your own pockets.
Utterly disgusted by our experience and I will be sending a proper email making a complaint about this to the DFES and to other WA gov officials and the news.
To those travelling across the Nullarbor, Fill up with petrol in Caiguna and that will get you to Norseman where you can fill up again. If you re after accomodation near there, There is a great place called Fraser Range station 40 minutes towards Norseman that will look after you much better than what the Balladonia Roadhouse will (rooms and caravan/camping sites).
Please don t support a business that takes advantage of people!!

way too expensive for what it is, but it's in the middle of nowhere so can't judge too harshly on that, however...

no drinking water (which for the cost was a huge negative, especially with their ridiculous prices for bottled water), no wifi, poor ground for tents, unclean facilities, no camp kitchen.

there is mobile signal, the food is ok (just expensive), and the staff are pleasant, but i wouldn't stay again.

Comfortable, but not flash, does the job for an overmight stay. Has some interesting history re Skylab, and a little museum explaining the story.
Amenities were basic, but clean. There is a firepit in the centre of the caravan park. Sites are spread out, and power supplied, but no water.
Roadhouse serves hot food ( the sausage rolls are good!).
We stopped there after 4 and a bit road hours out of Esperance, and would be handy heading towards Kalgoorlie as well.

Stayed in the backpackers it was clean and good enough, did wonder why there was a gap at the bottom of the door until a member of staff said it was to let the snakes out in the morning..... then when you see the pickled brown snakes in the servo you are thankful you didn't need the dunny at night.

Making the most of what it's got. Had a tasty Parma and beer in the bar, lady even let me take my dog inside so we didn't have to sit out in the cold. Has a museum, can have a hit of golf, there are at least some trees around making it nicer to camp and walk around. One of the better roadhouse's on the Bor. Didn't see the rooms/cabins but a lady I met in the bar said they were really nice.

The rather large older red head lady was not very fair at all! Being a roadhouse I thought that they would accomodate better for travel folk. My pregnant wife couldn t get a freshly cooked meal because it was 7:32pm and they apparently stopped all food at 7:30pm? Even know when we checked in at 6:30pm we were advised food was available until 9:00pm???
This is my first ever review and I am gutted it has to be a negative one. Thanks Balladonia for the toilet paper. Highly advise pushing through to the much more accomodating Cocklebiddy or Norseman.

Good place for a stretch. The coffee was suprisingly nice, I could say the best in the desert. Prices are high across the Nullabor, so no use complaining about that. If you think that these places are cheap and don't bring your own petrol, food, drink, etc.... then it's your fault. Staff friendly, helpful and welcoming. Will always stop here.

Needs upgrading. The toilets were disgusting but thankfully have recently been replaced by a new building. Fuel is extremely expensive here as you would expect (about $1.88 /L), but be mindful of the fact that they close at 10pm and reopen at 6am. If you get there outside those hours you can sleep in your car outside under the trees.
If you fill up in Border Village or from Eucla you will need to fill up here or at least add a third of a tank to get you to Norsman where fuel is considerably cheaper.

I stayed at the motel recently and the room smelt bad.Must have been the dirty carpet.I bought a pie at the shop which cost me $6.00; I figured that was a dollar for each year old it was. The bed was comfortable but the sheets smelt. Also I paid forty five cents a litre more for fuel than I had paid out in the middle of the nullabor. The room was over thirty dollars more for the night than I had paid at Narrandera, Renmark and Ceduna all of which was good accommodation.

Had an amazing coffee from here, I'm used to quality coffee as I'm from Melbourne, and on my drive West had not enjoyed a coffee since I left melbs... Until I got to Balladonia! Huzzah!

Petrol is also fairly reasonably priced here, and the service is awesome, everytime!

Stayed here once years ago and the rooms were reasonably priced, clean, roomy, very happy customers..

Keep driving caravan park dirty not many bins to use and a lot of there power points don't work we had to move caravan 3 times before we found one that worked. Ladies toilets extremely poor one toilet one shower for all the women staying in caravan park. Staff rude especially young overseas boy who had most of the caravan park tenant's upset with his couldn't care less attitude. Food expensive packet of biscuits $7.50. Either stay in Norseman or keep driving.

Not cheap, but at $160/night the deluxe unit was clean, but very cold, with outside temperatures down to zero, the air-conditioner wasn't up to it.

Small shower cubicle was compact.

At dinner, the staff told me to hurry up and order, but then seemed to relax an took orders from customers that came in later

Hey everyone remember to pack some thongs because you will be needing them when you have a shower as there is a layer of slime in the bottom of the shower recess. Note to cleaner of motel.....buy a bottle of domestos and a scrubbing brush and scrub the showers until it foams up.....super easy

Terrible. Stoped here for lunch with the family. We had sausage rolls that were so oily we are currently in negotiations with BP for the oil right to it. It was good value for money (not) as hubby will be seeing the sausage roll he ate again very soon, the sausage roll that keeps on giving
The pies must of been made in a very clean kitchen as you could taste the cleaning products used in the pies. Asked for extra strong chai lattes and got warm milk.
Would rather eat roadkill than stop here again...worst food on our 7500km trip across aus. Very very expensive

Comfortable enough to spend a night. Nothing but tea/coffee supplies, bar fridge and a kettle in the room. Would have been nice to have a toaster at least. Very expensive to eat at the restaurant.
