Somewhere to camp on Nulla. Museum interesting. Too many bullants
The staff was not that nice but it's okay for a stay and even camping.
Just a lovely place out on the Nulabour. Clean non fancy rooms but lovely food in the restaurant with great country friendly service.
The most expensive roadhouse across the Nullabor, and accommodation was a bit pricey for the standard of the room, but there's not really much of a choice when you're out in the middle of nowhere. had a good laugh when we found the giant can of bug spray in the room... Can't get anymore Australian than that!!
I called after hour number driving with my 3babies all night and got rudeness on phone and told to go to next hotel as they closed half hour beforehand
Stayed at the motel, room was clean but tired. Limited meal options in the restaurant 1800 til 1830. Staff friendly & helpful.
Fantastic - unexpected great restaurant bar and little Skylab museum.
It's a remote roadhouse - what more does one need to say! rr"
Excellent facilities, the room was clean and comfortable. Food at pub was plain but delicious. Highly recommend
Very neat very helpful staff and accomadation is well priced
Good place to stretch the legs and grab some refreshments. I'm glad I fitted long range fuel tanks to avoid having to fill-up here.
Poor and rude service, Everything was overpriced and the food was dried out.
Horrible experience had a family room only 2 glasses 2biscuits no plates forks or knives not even a microwave. They just want you to spend top dollar on rubbish food also we went to bed to see snot on our beds and the walls and curtains were covered aswell also there was nothing to wash the dishes with. And nothing to wash your hair no shampoo conditinor. The service is appaling no sorry what so ever. I would NOT even let my dog sleep here. Also most expensive hotel on the nullabour. Worst hotel experience. Thanks balladonia
I really love this place. Nothing fancy but good feel. And Skylab fell near here so bits of it are in and around the Roadhouse. So cool.
Good food, slow service the night we were there. Passable camp ground amenities.
Stayed in humble dongers. Shared showers could do with a renovation. Friendly staff and delicious food at the restaurant.
Nice room but froze through the night as we only had two thin blankets and the reverse aircon didn't push any heat out
Nice museum display, had everything, but seemed lacking
Website is hugely inaccurate.
Bathrooms dirty, bugs, smelly.
No campers kitchen it has been removed, no bbqs, pool has been emptied due to drought. Need to update their website with a simple sorry unavailable due to current drought conditions
Campsite poorly maintained and not clean. For $ 30 a night that would be appropriate, otherwise you can also spend the night in the bush.
Very comfortable and clean, restaurant is nice to with a good menu. Nice relaxing place to stop the night, probably the nicest spot we stayed at going across the Nullabor
Stop and have a look at the little museum in the back of the shop
My fillet steak was toughand dry, but eddible.mushroom sauce wasflavoured with coconut cream.mywife's mild curry was hot as fire.in edible.explantion the cook is from the Philippines. Only worked here a week.Curry removed no solution suggested left hungry.
Bar attendant needs educating in customer service, rooms are clean and functional. Bar meals are good and reasonably priced, definitely worth you stop over.
Great food /comfortable beds & good prices. The prices are good & considering the location they are really good. Beds are very comfortable an they have heat pumps, they also have extra Wollen blankets & pillows in Wardrobe & the meal was Delicious & big . Glad I gave these guys a chance I will be back again.
I've travelled across the nullabor adozen times. Each time i've stayed there and found the staff very nice and very helpful. Also found the rooms to be very clean and comfortable. The price wasn't bad neither. I'll be traveling across in a couple of months and i'll be staying there again.
Amazing display about the first space station crash nearby in 1979. So informative! And for free. Buy sth there to gratitude them!
Good coffee and burger. Fuel is 30c a litre more expensive than Norseman. Toilets are a disgrace!
Room was dirty dead flies everywhere hasn't been dusted in a very long time. Beds were clean which was a bonus. Was the most expensive room i stayed in ($170)pn from my travel from sydney to perth and was the most disappointing.
About a million times better than caiguna roadhouse... way more expensive, but well looked after.
Richard the attendant was extremely helpful and lovely, pet friendly with a great little pool for those hot days when you just want a dip at the end of a long day travelling!
Really nice bar and restaurant for the middle of nowhere...cosy fire in there too
A bit quiet, but interesting local museum display including the Skylab Museum.
Expensive for what you get if staying in a cabin. Very clean and comfortable. It is noisy with vehicles and trucks coming to stop all hrs of the night. A popular spot to camp for caravaning and camping. No grass. Staff were excellent.
Clean, modern and convenient. Plenty of room for overnight truck parking. Hotel restaurant do great meals as well.
Used a standard motel room. Not flash but serviceable. Remember where you are. They have some slightly better rooms for a bit more. Restaurant was good for a meal. Friendly and helpful staff. Would stay again.
Room was clean and in fairly good condition. I don't expect much from hotels along the Eyre Hwy, but this was above my expectations.
I stayed a night in the motel (which was fine) and a night in a cabin/donga (also fine: cost less, less pretty but it had everything). In the day between, I had the opportunity to talk to the staff and found them helpful and friendly. If you have a reason to stop on the road, this is a good place.
Didn't stay - just stopped for food. Cleaner and more modern shop/eating facility than most of the places on the Nullarbor, although toilets no better. Friendly staff.
The food here was amazing! Coffee made with real milk. Dinner lovely, I had the mushroom pasta. Prices very good.
Motel is ok as well.
This place is the nicest place to stay until you reach Ceduna. Price is what you expect for location.
Definitely great accommodation quiet and peaceful surroundings, restaurant and cafe both great staff friendly and helpful
TERRIBLE ... MAUVAIS.... Use the camping/caravan sites before or after here, but to stay at Balladonia is a waste of money.
Thought we'd have a good rest by having a 'luxury cabin' for $160 .. NEVER AGAIN - walls paper thin, oblution blocks n drains run behind n staff house party = no sleep.
So much for wanting a good night's sleep - and staff didn't give a damn! :o
No internet provided/WIFI
Dinner meals are microwaved
Only one customer focussed staff member who's there from the UK .
Food great.
Loved the little musuem
Staff great
All the big rigs were here
Most expensive fule over the nullarbor along with slow service, nice bacon and egg roll.
Balladonia hotel/motel/caravan park is a combination setup on the Nullabor before you get into Norseman in WA. The caravan park section is very basic , you pay at the service station and set up anywhere in the park section. There are power outlets but no water , common at parks across the Nullabor, the ground is dirt and there are shade trees throughout. The 2 showers and 1 toilet are very old, VERY OLD. The showers were hot.
The facility is ok that gas shower, toilet and bar. The food is edible
Most unhelpful, rude experience . Call themselves a roadhouse phhhht...
Took 45 mins to get an answer on the phone to start with and didn't get any better when they finally did answer.
Won't be stopping there again.
Got the budget single persons room. Was old and small which is what I paid for.... but! ... it had aircon a little table and a Power board. The staff were lovely and I was able to rest and get a good night's sleep ready for the next leg of my drive. They're meal sizes are generous and although you pay a little extra being out on the Nullabor, it's worth the dollars to have a good meal and a good night's sleep. On other trips I've stayed in the motel rooms and they're lovely. Depending on your budget..... Baladonia caters to you. I always stop here now and love it.
Nice stop for lunch and fuel if you need it whilst crossing the nullabor
The new staff member at the desk was fantastic. Friendly, helpful, apologetic about the state of the room.
Bedding was covered in pet hair, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned since last people stayed. Their bathroom products were still in the shower. Floor was wet and dirty.
Currently on water restrictions so short 2min showers. Have a pool but not covered and cant be used after dark (?!?!) Food was pretty terrible, and couldn't buy basics here.
Overall, it needs some love and attention, but the sheets were clean, mattresses good, water pressure and temperature on point. The museum is cool with skylab debris!
Probably would come again when going past, but bring my own bedding.
Can't say we only stop for a few hours we don't have anything to do with the Hotel sorry.
I know its isolated but no kitchen for campers is a bit tough for the price.
Drove from Ceduna and stopped for petrol. Most expensive fuel on the drive.
Tried to order some hot chips, was told the cook had just gone on break so would have to wait 30mins as no one else could cook the chips. Received nothing but attitude from the owner. Would definitely avoid skipping this place. They don't deserve anyone's money.
Would have been great except allot of the amenities listed on the websites were not available. Such as bbq and kitchen. On the plus there is an onsite restaurant which serves large meals
Day old bread roll, not toasted, without butter/marg, just a funky/off tasting saveloy and a scraping of sauce apparently passes for a "hotdog"?? $8. Most exp fuel from Kimba SA to Ravensthorpe via Esperance. I get the higher costs for food etc but the fuel was well over the top. Glad I only needed 10L.
The museum was horrific with b&w photos up of Indigenous man in chains around his neck. How disrespectful to our First People!!
DO NOT pull in here if you can help it!
Exspensive Room, water is scolding HOT and uncontrolable! Fuel exspensive. No camp kitchen as described on website. Needs improvement!
Stayed in the caravan park area. No running water (at sites) which is understandable but the condition of the shower block is not. It didn't look like it had seen a mop in at least a few days. Spiders, big dead bugs, small dead bugs and just dirty. No excuse these days for just basic lack of maintenance.
Powered site was good price, staff friendly and fires are ok so great stop over for us. Would stay again.
It was just a stop at a roadhouse on our journey but there was a playground and a spot to eat outside for the kids, plus a fascinating small museum off of it for the curious. Info about the Skylab crash, native flora & fauna and so much more.
Rooms were ok a little outdated meals were great staff were great
A very welcome haven with friendly staff out in the Nullabor. Officially, clocks change 45 minutes here for "border time zone" which seems amusing but on enquiring, I was told most stick to WA or SA time. Another of the Nullabor links holes is here and the hotel staff will stamp your card. There is an interesting artefact here, part of debris from the Skylab sattelitte crashed down here in 1979.
A surprisingly well appointed apartment for such an isolated spot. We stayed in one of the Queen suites six was more expensive but our day had been long. The bathroom was big, the bed very comfy and there were tea and coffee making facilities as well as a larger bar fridge and microwave allowing self catering for the evening. The verandah outside had an inviting bench seat from which to survey activity outside but this is a refuelling spot when all is said and done. Better than some of our "in town" motel experiences.
Considering where they are these are great rooms they have everything you need and even have hot water with great pressure in the shower . Deluxe rooms can park directly outside room .
Good place to stop off food is also good price for the location
Has nice rooms . Caravan park.
My only let down was the Bacon and egg roll I had , it was greasy and I felt it had been cooked on a dirty hot plate.
Same with my husband's hamburger.
I support thier high prices but I think they need to give back by providing edible food.
Nice and cozy. Very affordable. Great meals as well.
on our trip from Perth to Philip Island, 9 of us stopped at Balladonia R/H for breakfast at 9.20am. ! of us walked up to the county with a menu in his hand, ! staff member grabbed the menu & put a sign on the counter "kitchen closed". We discussed this with in the group & what we will do. 9 of us & estimate 10-15 other people traveling through. We fuelled up [no choice] & headed to the next roadhouse for something to eat.
We will only stop here for fuel in the future. Unfortunately motorbikes don't have the range to miss a fuel stop on the Eyre hiway.
$140 a night. Its dirty. No internet. No face washers. Only 2 tiny smelly soaps. Me a long with other truckers won't be staying here again. For this price. NOT WORTH IT. Maybe if you have a caravan you can stay in the park area. in the The restaurant area.the food and the workers are great. So if you want a nice motel. Keep going. Its dirty in the rooms behind the fridge is disgusting. Shower disgustin. Can't believe they charge that much. I stayed in a gorgeous room in seduna with a beach view and that was so worth $140.. Try To make it to Norseman if you are heading to Perth...
NO STARS.. Had to give itvone star so I can post..
at last count have stayed in 65 van parks.this one is the worst.organise your trip and avoid this place ,fuel is also very expensive.
