This is my favourite place on Earth, and I've traveled a lot! I discovered the temple in 2006 and have been visiting at least once annually ever since. The welcome center is incredibly informative and the temple architecture is beyond stunning. If you visit in the spring and summer you will also get to experience the amazing gardens and fountains all around the property. Learning the history of the temple and religion gives you a true appreciate for their community and what they have accomplished. Experiencing the serenity in and around the temple is unmatched. I cannot recommend visiting enough to anyone interested in spirituality and/or architecture.

(Please note - interior photos are only permitted during Open House Chicago.)

Wife and I, were married at this house of worship, over 10 years ago and it's become our tradition to visit it at least every year on our anniversary. I have seen plans for new additions to the building, the new visitor center and bookstore are two of the places I'd like to visit after the project is finished.
Lake view and gardens in Spring are enjoyable and my children also enjoy visiting the temple. As they are still young, they won't spend a lot of time in the upper hall.

It was different, I liked it very much. I felt a sense of comfort, knowing Baha'i understands all faiths are a divine revelation of God. That made it easy to talk
,connectand express myself with others.

This place is beautiful! Architecturally stunning inside and out. The gardens and fountains surrounding the temple are equally beautiful and so remarkably symmetrical. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Pictures do not do The House of Worship justice. It is beautiful to know that anyone regardless of faith, religion, race and creed are welcomed. This truly is a place for the oneness of man.

This is one of the 8 bahai temples in the world at present. Bahai faith is an independent world religion practiced through out the world. More than 5 million people. The beautifully constructed is encircled with flowering garden. The building is construted with nine sided structure covered by a single, majestic dome. This symbolizing the unity of all people and religion under God. The building and the garden form a single, sacred space where all people are invited to pray to God and meditate in an atmosphere of beauty and light.

Absolutely beautiful, mystifying architecture. I walked around in near-total awe for my entire time on the premise. It feels like it was just dropped from a space ship, as the design is shockingly out of place among the Chicago homes, but it is a gift.

This building is amazing - it's definitely one of Chicago's (and America's) architectural gems. The peaceful environment inside the temple and in the nine gardens outside provides a comfortable space to pray, meditate, or just generally clear and center your mind. The small museum in the basement of the visitor center has some interesting exhibits, and the bookstore offers a variety of Baha'i literature for anyone who is curious and wants to learn about this beautiful religion. The temple is an easy ride on the purple line from central Chicago, and is a 5-minute walk from the station. I'm so glad I visited, even if this is a bit further afield than most of Chicago's other notable sites.

Ironically, I was discriminated against by a security guard working there. Oneness my ass. First time going in to pray as I am going through a great depression & needed to seek a place of silence & healing. After my prayer I got up and was getting ready to leave. As I was respectfully exiting the building, she stopped to tell me that the people who come to that temple do not accept "people like me". She said to me I will go to straight hell if I don't "turn" straight because men exist only to reproduce with women. She then proceeded to try to get me to admit I have aids (which for the record I don't). You think I'm joking but I'm not. I stood there in literal disbelief. This woman had no idea who I am & had no reason to disrespect me. It left a really bad taste in my mouth. I left with rage and don't plan to ever return. I forget what her name was but she was Spanish.

Very peaceful and quiet for Daily meditation. The gardens are gorgeous and well kept. Walk around the gardens for a peaceful and meditative experience. A must visit if you are in the Chicago area.

Beautiful temple and gardens. Wonderful tranquil space, very welcoming space. I always ride my bike by and recently my wife and I stopped by on our way back from apple picking. We sat in the temple and just reflected, it was really nice. They also offer introductory sessions about the Baha'i faith and twice daily services are open to all.

An architectural wonder, a majestic place of worship that opens to all regardless of religious background. There's only a few Baha'I temples in the world and this is the most distinct as far as architectural design.

This was our first time visiting the Baha i House, and it was wonderful. We are not a religious family, but were welcome with open arms. Everyone was very friendly and answered any questions we had. The temple itself, inside and out, is absolutely breathtaking. The welcome center offers wonderful information and history regarding not only the house of worship, but also the Baha i Faith.
