I enjoy the auditorium which is usually a quiet place for prayer and meditation. If you need profound ideas on which to meditate, parts of the Hidden Words by Baha u llah are placed in each alcove. I also enjoy the Programs with magnificent a capella choir. I hope the angels singing in heaven are inspired as much as this choir!

Such a beautiful place. Great for everything from weddings to study dates. This is a great place to clear your mind and enjoy your surroundings. This is also a great place to take children. I cannot talk this place up enough, its absolutely beautiful.

I first visited this temple on holiday to Wilmette when I was 10 years old and my baby sister was only 5.

We both loved the beauty, the power and the serenity of this sacred shrine of 9 faiths.

After we emerged into the open air we spent over an hour sitting on the white marble staircase and watching the sunlight sparkling on the surface of the temple pond.

This holy place instilled within us a profound sense of peace and wonder even though we were children and not easily moved or impressed.

Interesting beautiful place and well maintained. Baha i House of Worship is open to the public every day of the year. It has a remarkable architecture and the history of Baha'i religion is explained in detail. You can spend a couple of hours there and then there is the beach and park right over the road.

This place is so beautiful and peaceful! The architecture of the temple is stunning inside and out. The grounds always have beautiful, seasonal plants and flowers. In the warmer seasons they have pristine fountains. The staff is all very friendly and welcoming. It's a perfect place for a moment of peaceful reflection or even a photo-op.

Recommended by a traveler friend to visit this piece of architecture. Visiting this place was one of my best decision even though I knew nothing what this place was and what is the history behind it.

I'm glad Google maps helped me discover this place and I was able to learn something new. It is away from the main city, I took two trains to reach this place and walked for almost 9 mins. The place architecture is amazing - absolutely loved the peace within the building.

Never went inside due to COVID, but the architecture itself and the surrounding gardens is incredible! Definitely feel at peace even just standing in the gardens. If you do visit Chicago I recommend you make a quick stop here to take it all in!

A gorgeous place to spend an afternoon. We were informed of the Baha'i faith and were given a brief introduction to the practice by one of the volunteers. We learned that this is the only Baha'i House of Worship in North America. The grounds are beautiful and the architecture is breathtaking. It's definitely worth a visit.

One of my happy places:) It is beautiful architecture and so peaceful. It is the only in North America so I totally recommend it. You will not be disappointed. In late Spring the flowers in the gardens are amazing. If you live in the Chicago area and have NOT gone you are missing out.

Very beautiful construction and the best of all is that there are not too many tourists, you can enjoy it a long time, if you do not want to spend on ubers or taxis, the metro line leaves you at 10 minutes walking.

A must see. You have to experience this place. The architecture is beyond mind blowing. See it in the spring with the flowers blooming. The summer roses. The fall colors. The winter snow is like an inside out snow globe. Gorgeous and spiritual.

Visiting the Baha'i house of worship was incredibly peaceful. It feels like a little oasis of serenity in the greater Chicago area. The entrance is free of charge and the Baha'i are welcoming and accomadating to all faiths and walks of life. The stunning & intricate architecture and the colorful gardens make this a breath-taking and refreshing place for reflection.

You may not find another place that lets you be in quite as peaceful of a state as this. Short of walking on a cloud or something, it really is entirely built to calm you, provide a place to meditate and focus on being happy.

Absolute place of peace.

Absolute place of peace.
Regardless of what you believe you can find comfort and acceptance here.
I come here often to escape the noise and aggression of the city.
The serene gardens and the beauty of this building have a recharging quality that help me feel whole and and at peace.

Easily accessible by public transportation. Plenty of free parking.

They do not allow picnicking on their grounds but you can find several nearby parks that do.

I liked it is a place of relaxation ... They tell me that there is no religion in this temple and that they demand about 7 temples with this architecture in the whole world, I think I have a very great privilege ... We hope to visit in another country a similar temple

Somewhat far from the center of Chicago, but worth the visit if the stay in the city is long. The building is beautiful and follows the nine-sided Bahai plan models around which a whole garden is articulated with symmetrical fountains and stairs. The visit is free. Worship hours are short. It is easy to go by public transport.

What a wonderful place. For a while I was thinking I m in haven. It s so clean, so green and so beautiful. I spent there a few hours last week. It would be a pleasure to go back there every time I ll get a chance. Inside is very quiet and people are coming inside and are sitting down being very silent. It s a great place if you want to go there and to spend sometime with yourself. I can t wait to go back there as long as it s warm outside. I recommend this place for everyone.
