Badian Island Resort Review

Nice hotel located on an island. Room (junior suite) was clean and comfortably furnished. Only the gap size of the windows and doors is a bit generous, so that we sometimes had mosquitos and geckos in the room. I would have liked a mosquito net over the bed to feel safer. The staff is extremely friendly and courteous. We celebrated Christmas in the resort and found the celebration with gala dinner and show very nice. Really recommendable! Overall, the food is above average. I deduct a star because some construction work has not yet been completed. The beach is nice, but bathing shoes are recommended. SUPs can be borrowed free of charge. The prices for the spa and the excursions were overpriced, which is why we didn't try them out. Instead we rented a scooter in Moalbol for 350 PHP / day and explored the area on our own. But overall it was a nice time at the Badian Island Wellness Resort.

We visited the resort in 2010. One of the nicest places I know. Wonderful for diving, wonderful massages.

This place is good for relaxation and all the staffs are friendly and they have the good Service. The food is excellent and the place is like a paradise. The view of the sunset is very nice especially for the Vlogger .

The resort is the epitome of island paradise experience. From the moment you step in the island the staff will welcome you with flower lei and give you refreshing welcome drinks and scented towels from the spa. Although the resort has only one restaurant but the venue of the dinner is change daily depending on the weather, you can have dinner by the beach or near the pool or you can also arrange romantic dinner with harp musician that cost a little extra. They have also different shows every night like folk dance performances, solo singer performance and acoustic band.

Your island experience will not be completed if you will not try their relaxing massage in the spa and underwater adventures together with their licensed scuba diving instructors.

I will surely come back for more adventures.

The island itself was already a good package for complete relaxation.
We stayed at here last week for 4 days and we had a fabulous time! This place is truly paradise. What made this place extra special amongst all the top. It's the kind of place you almost want to keep to yourself, yet you can't contain yourself from telling everyone how wonderful your experience has been. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience - service was top notch, food was delicious, activities were fantastic, rooms/grounds were well kept.

Most foods and beverages are really made of Organic Products! A true Wellness Resort!!!

Badian Island Wellness Resort is a very nice and peacefull place to stay which makes you relax and enjoy during your stay .

We traveled as a family to this resort. I am a stickler for researching before we go anywhere and found there were some varied reviews which placed some doubt in my mind as to whether or not to stay at this location. Glad to say we booked and were not disappointed. We were blown away by the level of service and how stunning this island resort really is. There was a pool and just a Short walk from the beach. This is such a beautiful place for sunset watch. The horizon, refreshing sea breeze and the calming sound of sea will surely put your mind at ease.
They have awesome shows on every night with a DELICIOUS food prepared at the buffet table.

PATHETIC!!! Worst visit ever.. How can a resort with cheap facilities charge so much. Owners are nice in front of some guests but tend to neglect the others. They discriminate and they discriminate so bad. They approach and greet Europeans but shy away from the Asians. The German owner thinks he is God's gift to humanity while the wife thinks she has a monopoly of knowledge.

Stay away from this resort, I heard they don't even follow the country's labor laws. They don't pay employees enough, give them too much labor and ask them to render 3 days off against the Philippines' labor code. SO PATHETIC.

Facilities are too old and they say its traditional.. Such a poor excuse for mediocrity.

We acquired a blessing of silence and peace in this place! Food is healthy. We love the breakfast. We liked the seafood platter and Lola's soup! Food is fresh! We also love the flowers all over the place and in our room. Spa is incredible has a great view and massage was great. People ang smiling and friendly. And they are not stressful. They will not foget to say hi to you! I'm so much grateful for the experience. We will be back for sure!

It was Excellent because the staffs , crews and associates are very friendly and approachable. Very worth it to recommend. Services are good , food in restaurant are very good. Lovely Sunset during 4pm So much worth to witness. A very comfortable to stay.

Very serene and romantic. Our stay really feels like a dream fairy tale come true.

I wanted to stay somewhere on a solitary island. At first I was looking at the glamping at Sumilon Waterfront, but I was bad because I had so many reservations.
The result was awesome! I wanted to have five stars, but I chose four stars because the rice was not delicious.

What's good is that it was a private cottage at this price, and it was almost a private beach with few people (and few Japanese). The sea was so blue that I was surprised, and a mud pack was made at the mangrove. The morning sun was low tide and the scenery was as beautiful as Petit Uyuni salt lake.

The rest of the staff talked to me as they walked along, and they were full of hospitality and had a birthday. There were hotel tours, and both the Kawasan tour and the Jinbei tour were satisfactory.

Overall great satisfaction!
As a precaution to the Japanese, neither the guide nor the front desk can speak Japanese, so I think it is the best for those who can communicate in English and want to go a little out of the way.

And we will pick you up from the airport for 3200 pesos, but it is quite far. Smoothly 3 hours, 5 hours in traffic . But 24h.

There is no town nearby, but I think it's better to eat something outside because the rice is too tasty. . . The atmosphere is good at night, there are singing and dancing, and the restaurant is good, but the taste is good. . .

It was really the best except cooking, so I would definitely stay here when I come to Cebu next time.

Very nice resort. My only complain is that there's ants everywhere even in the restaurant table. Would like to go back there in the near future with family.

If you are looking for tropical paradise, this is the place. Truly magical. The service is exceptional and the menu is the best. Fresh and organic. The beach is peaceful and the pool is lovely. The owners make your stay like home. They will treat you like a family.

Badian Island Welness resort is perfect for vacation, relaxing and spending time together with their family ,friends and loveones.

We booked this resort for a 2 day stay whilst on our honeymoon, the arrival was lovely and gave high expectations however the service at the bar and restaurant was very slow, the food is very limited and not exactly 5*, the rooms are spacious and we were asked to upgrade at a fee of course (same value as on the internet) as it was our honeymoon we did but only to find the pool had been filled with water from the sea (not ideal), there were bugs on our food, ants crawling everywhere, 90% of the grass here is dead, theres very little do other than sleep here and apply bite cream, there was effort made but only when a group of 25 Chinese people arrived. Unfortunately due to the lack of maintenance at the villa the dirty air condtioning unit has cause my husband and I to be Ill during out honeymoon and to make matters worse the resort has purposely waited until 8 hours after we had checked out and settled the bills to put my card details through again and take a fraudulent transaction without my signature or authorisation, I have since emailed them sever times and had no reply.... the is absolutely no way this resort is 5* it has some lovely views and big villas but everything else is sub par, would rather have stayed in the city. The staff are helpful but do things in the least productive way making life very difficult for themselves. AVOID

It's our first time to stay in this beautiful island resort. We stayed here for 4 Nights for a vacation.
The moment we arrive the place is just stunning, it has a very open atmosphere that invites you to indulge. The receptionists were very friendly, they accommodate us the moment we step in the reception area and they explain everything about the resort in full details.
The moment we enter to our room, we can only say that it is worth every peso, it is well lighted, a cabinet to store your stuff, a safety deposit box for peace of mind, air-con is working well, shower has hot or cold option, a bathtub with full of fresh flowers , has lamps for sleeping time, a mini bar for your cold drinks, complimentary bottled water, coffee and water with a heating thermos, and their beds are very comfortable.
We had a dinner at the beach with a lovely shows and delicious foods. After dinner - we all went back to our villa for the night we enjoyed swimming on our own pool very romantic ambiance the peaceful sounds of the waves, winds and the trees - SUCH A TRANQUIL moment - will treasure this moment for LIFE.
- Breakfast was served at the restaurant- It s spacious and beautiful. Foods were tasty however it s a bit pricey.
- Their pool was a bit small however it s much inviting to dive into. It is clean and well maintained
- Very strong wifi in and out of the room

Overall, I would love to be back here.

Island paradise. Even more beautiful than from the pictures. Excellent food, fresh and varied. The view of the sea is great. Very well-kept green areas. The rooms are lovingly decorated with flowers.
The staff is very friendly and attentive, funny and always in a good mood!
You need shoes for the beach although you can borrow them for free at the resort.
As a diver I can only recommend diving..Pescador Island .... a dream.
If you want to relax and come down, this is the best place!

Based on my experience in badian island wellness resort.. it was great and fantastic staying, because it is very nice and quiet place, its over looking vuew and has a fresh air, since i am nature loving.. this place was perfect for me.

Too expensive, not worthy of your money. The structures are not that well maintained. The A/C in our room is not that cold. We stayed during the holy week. Poor customer support. Until now, the deposit they charged in my account has not been returned. Very frustrating.

Staff were hospitable. Shout out to Kiesser. He went over and beyond. Kiesser played my friend's favorite song on their anniversary with the rest of the staff. He also made a good mix and a good srver.

The nature and open air concepts of the resort, the resort was amazing for those who wants to relax from cities noise, when you get there, you'll feel like you're a castaway in beautiful way because the island will be your home for the day and you can do everything you want including-swimming in its blue beach, snorkeling to see its majestic gems, kayaking and many more. But the most pleasant impression was provided by very attentive, nice and kind staff special mention jessa, raymund, malou, and pat, who always pays a lot of attentions to customers needs.

Paradise for couples. Private with the most amazing sunsets

My boyfriend and I booked for four nights over Chinese New Year and it was absolutely perfect. We booked this hotel for both relaxation and activities. The resort itself is truly beautiful- so green, and tranquil and the Badian Suite room is very spacious with a lovely view.
I was worried at that time as I thought CNY is a busy days but despite of being fully booked it never seemed busy.
The spa massage was the highlight, we had an amazing four hand massage with a friendly spa therapist. Evening entertainment with a fire and dragon dance and a lovely fireworks was awesome.

The staff offered great service- they are so helpful and attentive. They help us arranged our tours like Whale shark Watching in Oslob, Kawasan Tour, Snorkeling Trip at Pescador Island and etc., They really made sure that we will have a fantastic experience for the rest of our stay.

Our overall experience was really fabulous and we will surely be coming back for our honeymoon? .

A Paradise in a Paradise

This is the place I would recommend if you are looking for exclusiveness and a place to think and relax. Rooms are huge and classic designs which really shows the Filipino culture.

The Famous Kawasan Falls & Moalboal (Pescador Island) is just 15-20 minutes away from the Resort and Whale Shark in Oslob is only 1hr & 20 minutes.

It might be expensive but it worth every peso especially you get discounts. There are no other resorts/hotels nearby that is similar to this property. Mostly accommodation are inns and pension house nearby.

The resort is nestled in a peninsula of a beautiful island and there's a very natural privacy to its surroundings that's kind of hard to find anywhere else in Cebu. You also get to miss the very high standard of hospitality: a uniquely Filipino touch in the customer care that you'll get from the staff. It's definitely a place to miss after you've been there. If you can't find rest and relaxation here, it's your fault.

I can t say enough about the amazing staff and experience at this resort! Two thumbs uP.

Nice resort but seems a little pricey.

Pros- beautiful views, nice private beaches, very nice employees. Our room was very spacious and had a great looking design, very good island feel. The restaurant had pretty good food as well and included free breakfast.

Cons -WiFi is so-so but is available in each room. Air conditioner doesn't seem to work great in the rooms, turned it down to 16C and never felt cold in the room. The restaurant is pretty good but charges US prices and takes almost an hour to get your food.

I'm not sure it's worth the price they charge but I did enjoy my stay.

Celebrated by 26th birthday there.. Hospitality 10/10.. All of them gathered around the table singing the birthday song, with a cake and a post card wishing me all the best. Also they gave us a suite with a very good view. Would love to come back and again and again. Thanks for making it special :)

The hotel is very nice! Rooms are large, well-kept. The food was always delicious & the staff very friendly! You can just relax and be pampered on this island. We would only recommend it!

This place is like heaven every day. It has been created in such a way that you do not see a lot of people during the day. We booked a Junior suite via online however it turned out to be a slice of amazing good choice for us when we decided to upgrade to a Villa with a private pool. We stayed here during low season and it makes us feel like the owner of the island.
I'm not sure how they inspire the staff to be consistently friendly and helpful. The foods and services was so amazing, so many good things that made our vacation so memorable.

My husband and I worked and stayed in a hustle and bustle city life. After a very hectic work schedule, we decided to squeeze-in a quick getaway just to relax and unwind. We chose Badian Island as it s in our bucket list. We want to see their place and want to experience what the private-island resort in store for us! Gladly, my expectation was met. A quaint place, away from the hustles of the city life. They offer different water activities, suites are huge, and very serene, you wouldn t hear any noise after dawn. Can be really peaceful and romantic at night.
Of course, our stay won t be completed without availing their Badian Hilot Massage a combination of Traditional Filipino and Swedish Massage.
If you wanted to recharge and reflect, this is the place.

30 years ago it must have been a 5 star but now i would rate it more like 3 till 4. Nice welcoming and pick up with the motor boat. Suites are very big and comfortable with the huge balcony. Were fortunate enough to be almost alone on the island. Only on our last day huge groups arrived and the restaurant changed from a la carte to buffet. Unfortunately the last buffet was arranged as something special which was actually not that great. Besides the bill with 1800 php per person. Effectively maybe worth 1000.
Checkout was not very effective as the receptionist was trying to manage three tasks at the same time and just stopped taking care of us in the middle of the procedure.
The staff always tried to do their best but one can clearly see that it lacks of management and experience.
Would still come here again.

Shuttle to airport: About 2000 pesos pp. Total trip 3 to 4 hours depending on traffic. Rout is interesting...
Staff: very friendly and helpful. My compliments.
Rooms: Only 60 on the island so not overly crowded. Good for rest. Rest does not include wifi. If you are internet addicted, just don't go (I can live without).
Boat is complimentary.
Kawasan falls about 20 minutes away, Aguinid falls another 20 minutes further and Oslob (Whaleshark watching) 1.5 hours away.

Island is clean. Rooms spacious and traditional. Beds large. Airco directly blows on the bed, request a blanket if you need it.
One restaurant with reasonable choice (just enough for a 4 day visit), but taste (in my second day) all similar somehow.

Our intention was 1 day travel (Whaleshark watching and both falls) and three days away from it all to rest. And without WiFi and a good book it was great.

(PS yes, there is WiFi at two locations. The central panorama restaurant and the reception).

All in all, for us being away from the hectic. This was quite and relaxing.

Tip for resort. Things tend to look outdated, form the recreational area to the pool area to the spa. Keep it maintained to stay 5* or you end up 3*.

It was really bad. Everyone will try to rip you off. The beach is not suitable for swimming. The staff at the reception are unclear. My wife and I couldn't make it to the hotel the first day due to the typhoon that hit the city we stayed in, so we sent them an email that we won't be able to make it. They told us that they will give us an answer soon. And after we were going to check out, we asked again about the first day and they said thay they can't do anything about it and we can stay for another day to make it up. . No internet in the room, You have to go to the restaurant to get it. mosquitoes will swarm on your feet at sunrise in your bed. . Really not worthy to go there.

A beautiful Island that you will surely look for when you are planning to have a vacation!

It is an escape of my city life, away from traffic and any sorts of pollution. It makes you realize how simple life could be and enjoyed watching some fisherman catch fish.

Rooms are indeed beautiful, Air-con is new and cold but it needs a little bit of touch up considering it is close to the beach. I also noticed some of their rooms are being renovated which was a good thing and hopefully it would be ready once I come back.

Strongly would suggest to stay here once you are in Badian or Moalboal.

The island resort is very beautiful and the staff cleans and maintains the property on a daily basis. Stayed for 6 nights. Front desk ladies are absolutely stunningly beautiful and speak English very well, could have just sat there and stared all day haha. Resort has their own dive master and center can even get padi certification. Was going to do this however didn t have enough time to complete. BE ADVISED nothing in this resort is inclusive. Everything costs extra and even the trike ride into nearby towns are also expensive. Only has 1 restaurant, but the food is very good and made to order. Down side, meals are expensive! Trust me dining can add up very quickly. Spa which is the crown jewel of the resort is good, however it is done outdoors and is very very uncomfortable due to weather, may have lost 10 lbs due to sweating and you guessed it EXPENSIVE like buku EXPENSIVE! When I was there may have just seen 1 or 2 people partake in the Spa treatments. Overall the island resort is gorgeous the surrounding fishing villages not so much. Can t give 5 stars due to the fact everything is extra on the island... this place is not cheap by no means expected to receive a few inclusive things at least for the price but atlas nothing. I did enjoy my peaceful relaxing time there and you will too. I don t recommend staying for more than 2-3 nights. Any time longer you will get bored, and will begin to regret spending your money.

I stayed in this resort with a bunch of my friends, and it was an experience I will truly remember all my life. The beauty, the food, the people, the sun, the sand and the sea. We went for snorkeling trip at the west side of the island. The staff were truly amazing and cooperative. The kind of fun that we had was worth more than the money we paid for, and it was truly the highlight of our trip. We thank the whole team for such beautiful memories we had from the duration of our stay.

If you are looking for a place away from any pollution from the city but still want to experience first class service, you are very welcome here. The place is quite where you can relax and sleep well. There are also many activities catered by the resort so you can enjoy and have fun. In here, the satisfaction of the guest is the top priority.

What stood out for me was the positive energy that radiates from the place itself. The staff are really nice. The food was great all organic... there s a lot of activities like yoga in the morning, Zumba in the afternoon and etc.,..we just stayed overnight but we enjoyed a lot.

We stayed here in this resort for a couple of days and I really enjoy . This place is nice the sand air sustainable environment. Employees are friendly and hospitable they always wear a smile especially in dining area . Money cant buy happiness . Money is worth it . Hope to stay long in the future

Staff were amazing. However, facilities need updatin for the price you're paying.

The resort itself has good amenities. Although some of the facilities there are bit worn out, they were repairing and giving them a fresh look. Service staff were really great and accommodating. From the gardeners, waiters, cooks, other ground staff and everyone were welcoming and service oriented.

The beachfront is not that great but the dive spots around the island were an experience to remember. You can spend the days giving each dive spot a try and feel connected to nature. Nearby Moalboal town has a good combination of beach fronts and dive spots.

The resort can also arrange side trips to other places on interest, like whale shark watching in Oslob and visit to waterfalls.

The food is a bit pricey but can be enough for two.

It takes 4 hours from the airport. Whether it's Wi-Fi or roaming, the internet is slow. Katok or a web page is enough. Come and snorkel in the recreation and come only for the rest. Meals are a la carte menu of 450 to 900 pesos. Filipino does not squeeze. Beer is 150 pesos. Light is 165 pesos. Fresh fruit juice 150 to 200 pesos .. Orange is more expensive. Among the dishes we ate individually, the Filipino dishes made with cuttlefish were also hit by mouth. Was it about 570 pesos? Souvenir shops are also inexpensive. There is a lot of criticism about the kindness of the staff, but personally, Plantation Bay seems to be more friendly. Ah. And it is better to think that lizards in the house just stay together. There are ants and many mosquitoes.

Perfect place to relax and unwind. Best place to stay with family and friends. The resort offers mouth-watering cuisines that you would surely love and the staffs were very hospitable. This place is a paradise!

The resort faces a beautiful beach! A little expensive the resort is very nice, clean and well maintained. The clean are room. Would recommend this resort just for the white sand beach.

Something Very Different and Special. It makes you want to quit your job.

Flowers were scattered all over the place, and when they arrived, they were laid out with flowers, and I was impressed with the courteous hospitality. The food is also delicious. I experienced the spa, but it was a bit cold because the oil contained mint. The road from the airport was crowded, and it took about 5 hours by taxi.
