We recently moved to the Schlosshotel Burg Schlitz.
We spend a total of 10 days in the Grafensuite.
Today on day 8, we decided to write a review.
Our stay is simply excellent.
From booking to reception, the management assistant makes a very qualified and very friendly impression, you feel welcome at Schlitz.
The next thing I have to mention is cleanliness. We have never seen such a clean and well-kept house. We travel often and stay in 5 star hotels (from Hamburg to Munich), here other well-known hotels can learn a lot. Many thanks to the hardworking housekeeper and her team, who master their tasks to perfection.
The house is furnished with great attention to detail, we only left the house briefly in the 8 days, as there is so much to discover and you can really feel comfortable and relax.
Our room is furnished with a lot of little things that you don't expect, starting with a jewelry box, a light movement detector for the night, even a Bose sound system is available. Bath salt is available here for bathing.
I do not mention the 5 star standard that this hotel has, otherwise the report will be too extensive.
All the furniture matches the style of the castle and is of high quality.
There is no renovation backlog that I can recognize here, I know this one differently from many other houses (castle hotels and castles).
As with every good hotel, a wellness area is offered, here again the cleanliness and the attention to detail should be mentioned.
The breakfast looks small from the first angle, in reality nothing is missing. There are freshly prepared egg dishes, freshly squeezed orange juice and caviar. We perceive all fresh products here as organic quality.
If you are looking for a large buffet, you always have to know that a lot of the food has to be disposed of after breakfast, which is not the case here. A rethink has taken place in many 5 star hotels, which I think is very good.
In the Wappensaal you eat in a fantastic atmosphere, the food is of a very high quality.

The 5-course meal in the Meissen Salon was perfect. We have never seen anything like it in any other house. Not only was the food very good, but also the hostess prepared a perfect evening for us. That is experience gastronomy at a high level. If you stay at Burg Schlitz for several days, you should definitely treat yourself to this experience.

I stopped below in the parking lot and went for a walk in the woods. By chance I discovered a burial ground from the Bronze Age. Scary interesting and exciting.
When paying by credit card, I would be informed that this is only possible with a surcharge! Otherwise normal level.
I was only the second time at Burg Schlitz for coffee and feel the sophisticated atmosphere as very pleasant. The park offers a longer circular path for walking. Unpleasant, however, are the aggressive mosquitoes.
A beautiful castle hotel, courteous staff and warm hosts. In addition, large and tasteful rooms paired with excellent gastronomy. It could hardly be better. Here you can enjoy beautiful days.
A great hotel with a few individually decorated rooms and suites. In the middle of the own park one can enjoy a lot of rest. From the welcome to the farewell everything was almost perfect. Food is mandatory in the evening! Fine cuisine paired with a good selection of wines served in a beautiful ambience, there was nothing to be desired. We recommend!

A really wonderful hotel. I was allowed to spend 2 nights here. The rooms are gigantic and really impeccable, a beautiful house with great surroundings. Food was great and the people here are above average friendly. Really highly recommended.

Terrific (!) Customer service (such great staff can be found even in prime locations only very rarely), loving perfection in detail - especially in the Christmas period, for the physical well-being is always provided on gourmet restaurant level and even with high expectations they are often surpassed by absolutely unexpected surprises ...
An additional attraction is luxury hotel level in a small, practically family setting, so you have the feeling to have a luxury hotel almost to yourself.
And yes - it's not cheap, but so cheap !!!

I was only walking outside the hotel, to get a view of the history and the sourroundings. The Schlosshotel is superb and the prices for a room are okay for such a place. I read that it was one time the best holtel in germany. By the way the price for the hotelrestaurant are really not too high.

It is difficult to describe Burg Schlitz without falling into lengthy ravings. Therefore as concise as possible: If you are looking for a hotel that combines family friendliness with the utmost perfection, if you need a place of rest and want to be close to nature, if you want to enjoy food that meets the highest standards, then you are on The castle slot as well cared for, as hardly any other place in Germany. I can only wholeheartedly recommend: Visit this place, you will not regret it!

Don't be put off by the prohibition sign at the entrance gate. The rich prefer to stay here among themselves ... nevertheless, the site with the huge historical park is open to the public. And it's worth it.
Simply outstanding. The seat height of the toilet in our junior suite is certainly suitable for children, but too low for my wife with 2 artificial hips. Hardly pronounced, the caretaker mounted a new booster seat. I'm excited! The food is excellent with very good price / quality ratio. The masseur proved to be highly competent. This is much more valuable to me than any frills.
Stylish castle hotel with great event rooms, good spa, good kitchen, beautiful large castle park, definitely the virgin fountain. CONCLUSION: Highly recommended.

What a wonderful place to get away from daily life. I'm sure this place is even better during summer, especially the grounds. Still, this a very relaxing experience in winter, too. The spa is small but attractive. Don't miss the opportunity to have a massage here. The masseur does an excellent job. The food is good. There's an excellent restaurant. The staff are very friendly. A step back in time with historical value and a place to return to.

In a nutshell: We have traveled a lot around the world, but the event on the first Sunday of Advent is one of the three most beautiful trips and experiences that we were allowed to enjoy. Even in view of the fact that off-season was ... Really pathetic! I was already in some respectable houses but something defies description. It already started with the greeting with which one two men welcomed. Incredibly, I was there with my partner! The service was absolutely deficient and has constantly tried frantically us something from the offer of the hotel to turn that one was bad. In the end, things were calculated which were not marked with price so again to get the price up. All in all, a cheek and me is a mystery how such an establishment could come to 5 stars. Nothing seemed authentic and / or relaxed or balanced. No way again!

I was with my girlfriend for a wellness weekend at Burg Schlitz and we thought it was just gorgeous.
Thank you for a great time, even if it was short, but it was intense.
Friday we had a massage from a really great professional masseur with subsequent muscle soreness, but he knew what he was doing, brilliant. Great sauna, great steam bath, great clean ambience.
Saturday breakfast was the finest and the subsequent carriage ride was very interesting and relaxing. Pure nature.
In the evening the 4 course menu was just magical. The hard-working and loving Ms. Walther and Ms. Beck made it unforgettable for us.
All around, very upscale, also expensive, but a pleasure every second.

Beautiful hotel with top class restaurant, very friendly and well trained staff. They understand how to make guests feel welcome and at ease. Only point of criticism is the hassle logging into the wifi and the generally poor wifi connectivity.

We were greeted in a very warm way and every little detail was right during our stay! The spa area is really impressive and makes you want to go to the "private spa night" offered there, in which everything was done in a very romantic way and you had the entire area to yourself for 2 hours.
A dreamlike object in terms of architecture and interior. For me everything is very harmoniously furnished, of high quality, every corner of this house has been lovingly embellished and has been individually provided with the right accessory.
Regarding the restaurant: the food was okay, nothing really outstanding without wanting to demean the kitchen. We travel a lot, of course we visit restaurants in the top categories and we presume to be able to draw one or two comparisons.
Regarding the location: we found the country road passing below as not disturbing, in contrast to other guests. The feeling is of course individual. Yes, the air conditioning is not available, not a shortcoming for us, with a little draft we could also get some freshness. The view of the forests of Mecklenburg Switzerland lives up to its name and is a little dream.
A wonderful place to relax, but in the summer much more attractive, because there is nothing in the environment, except nature. The wellness area was a bit small in our opinion.

It was a fine weekend at the Schlosshotel Burg Schlitz, which began with a warm welcome, with hot lavender towels for refreshment and tea.
The dinner in the knight's hall was pure joy for the senses. We have rarely seen such an interplay of different textures, consistencies and flavors (so the portions should have been a little bigger).
The breakfast, served on a cake stand, also left nothing to be desired! Other dishes were available at the small buffet.
Try out the cheese fondue for dinner in the salon!

The rooms offered all amenities and were absolutely clean, the towels bright white and fluffy. We liked the decor and it was stringent.
During the night the eagle owl would occasionally greet you with its calls from the neighboring forest - where do you still see something like that today? Probably only here!
