Not a huge traditional Mexican food person, but the entire menu here is amazing. The tamales were flavorful and moist. Definitely will go again.

Yes, this place is very expensive. Yes, I only ate here because I was lost and hungry. But I have no regrets, the food is better than any I've ever tasted, and I will come here again after I sell a kidney.
I love to try new cuisines or old ones from unfamiliar restaurants. During my search, I was introduced by the online world to this amazing restaurant.
It was great! I ate crickets and they were delicious!
Great place, we went for lunch ordered 2 por dos, had a great time. Our waiter was the best... He recommended tasty dishes... Satisfying Lunch... Thanks, Victor!!!...
The ceviche was delicious. Not as pricey as I thought it would be. 2 people ~50$
Sunday brunch here is quite an event. We unfortunately made the rookie mistake of not making a reservation. Never again. If you have ever looked at a menu and couldn t decide what you wanted for brunch this is the place for you. Poached eggs, stuffed peppers, ceviche, you will be frantically searching for more room on your plate only to concede to going back for another around after finishing your already overflowing mountain of brunch items. Don t forget to save room for dessert, the tres leches and rice pudding do not disappoint. Ladies and gentlemen wear your flowiest dresses and roomiest pants to make room. Leave your belts at home because you won t be needing them here.
Super nice upscale place with over price carne asada.
I just love Hugo s. Except for one time they were really crowded and we ate in the bar area and some other customers who were standing near us waiting for a table I guess, were super rude.....kept hitting my friend s arm and like coughing too close for comfort... not a good situation to keep trying to ignore and have a nice meal...
Food and atmosphere are one of a kind. Great choice
Initially, I ventured to find the city of Houston's best margarita. The "Hugo Rita" explains the true meaning of a sensational drink that can be enjoyed with a variety of menu items. As for the taste, each is made to enchance the flavor of the agave. Overall, the food has a top quality for the price. A mellow atmosphere within the restaurant brings a sense of satisfaction and pleasure to the customer. I will definitely continue my business with Hugo's and thank the staff for providing a another great experience.
When I heard that this was the best brunch in Houston, of course I had to taste it for myself. Hugo's did not disappoint. Lot of variety of different Mexican dishes from tamales to enchiladas and everything in between. And of course my favorite, desserts! So many different things, tres leches, churros, flan, cakes AHHHH. There's a bit of a wait but we sat at the bar and tried their famous mimosas. It was a beautiful day out and luckily a spot opened up outside.
Definitely a must-have if you're ever in the area on a Sunday or are a local and somehow have not tried this yet (shame on you if that's the case).
This is the authentic Mexican flavor, I love the tres leches cake, it's the best.
Always great Mexican food. I've visited this place for brunch numerous times, and dinner a few times. They have maintained their quality and have stayed consistently good for the past 10 years.
The service is great, it reminds me of my beloved Mexico
This restaurant has great authentic Mexican dishes but it is a bit expensive which is fine but I thought they should change the $$ to $$$. Be prepared to spend about $100 on food and drinks for 2 people. So delicious though, definitely worth it. I highly recommend the Lechon.
This place was outstanding!!By far the best Mexican/Brunch I've ever had!!
Amazing Mexican place. High-end mexican describes it best. Chapulines are a must for the brave.
Good food, great and timely service even for large groups. Well done.
Only valet, no free chips and salsa. Even though they told us the chips were free. Strange menu options.... pricey. And they charge for water. My meal was edible but not great
One of the best places in Houston - if you're a foodie you have to be there at least once
Great bar food, drink specials early evening (loved the cheap mohitos), intresting clientele at the bar. Food is not TexMex, but rather genuine Mexican fare, a nice twist. Get there early, it gets busy at the bar.
Great servers, authentic Mexican food, upscale atmosphere, but dress is casual-cute to date night wear
Consistently great food and drinks! The vegetarian menu is extensive and the staff is helpful. One of my faves in Houston!
Hugo's is one of the best brunch locations in the city. Ricky is also in the running for best bartender in Houston. Malinche Margarita is fabulous!
High-quality Mexican food in a comfortable atmosphere.
Just incredible. Sunday brunch may be one of the top 5 best meals I've ever enjoyed.
High prices, crowd rude and snooty. Service was great. Food variety was interesting. Be aware of high prices on off the menu items.
Absolutely delicious food and drinks! The servers are all very friendly and knowledgeable. My only gripe is you can't open one of the stalls in the women's bathroom without hitting the toilet with the door.
As someone who is way too picky to eat at Mexican restaurants because she thinks nobody can beat her momma, I'm IMPRESSED. I didn't even take a photo of the food because I just wanted to eat and I did. Perfection.
Favorite brunch spot with my kids. My kids love the bacon and mini tacos. Everything is great. Don't forget dessert!
I y there food is incredible they will not let you down top priority food they are very nice and friendly I would recommend you this restaurant
Ate at the bar and our bartender/server abraham was very friendly and informative about the menue. Food and service was great.
Very greasy overall... flavors were good but it was too greasy in my opinion.
Yum - good and much food and cheap prices. Very good. Only looking for a parking spot can last. It's worth it though.
Good food, but the portions are made for an elf. Eat something before you go there.
The brunch really is amazing! Worth it for special occasions.
One of my top spots for tasty Mexican food. service is always super even when they have a full house. prices that won't shock you. menu is like a cafe in boston i loved.
Great atmosphere and the food tastes amazing. One complaint was them not having all the food labeled especially as they have a huge pork selection and some people are allergic so it would help to be able to know what kind of meat you're getting. Also the BlackBerry Mojito we tried was watered down.
Wow this is an Great Place..
Definitely give it a try for happy hour
Fantastic margaritas. Service was great, at the bar and table.
I'm keeping the four rating, but I had some issues. The wait time was very long, even with a reservation. The food was good, but not up to standard with the prices.
That said, I'd go back for the margaritas :).
Churros. Delicious. Also, I didn't get to take a pic but the tostadas and octopus are a must try.
Upscale Mexican restaurant with the best margaritas! A must try in Houston. I recommend plantain empanadas.
Overpriced and not impressive compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. Far too over hyped in my opinion. I don't see myself ever coming back here.
Pricey but totally worth it! Try the Sunday brunch buffet if you can.
The best traditional Mexican food with the flare of fine dining. Try the chapalines, cochinita pibil, or the mole! Don't forget to get a Hugorita and take home some Mexican Hot Chocolate!!!
Delicious! Tried the octopus (Pulpo Al Carbon) for an appetizer and it was amazing! Carne Brava was to die for will definitely go back!
The brunch here is absolutely amazing! The food is impeccable. Aside from the food the service is great as well. My table was huge and they managed to provide great service!
I love coming here for their ceviche. Best ceviche ever!!! Would also recommend trying their pulpo al carbon , you won t be disappointed.
Food was delicious and service was excellent. Ceviche was amazing! Trout was a very generous portion! Loved it!
A consistent favorite for almost two decades. Hugo's has never disappointed. The service and the food always exactly what a dinning experience should be. Very cozy atmosphere. The cleanliness of the dinning room, bar and bathrooms speaks volumes to their attention to detail. These are things that really do matter, but are neglected in many other restaurants. Keep up the great work. We look forward to our next visit.
Incredible margheritas. Unique take on Mexican food. Everything is just a bit different and better than expected. Excellent service!
The best Mexican food I've ever had, hands down. Come as many times as you can, and try as many things as you can every time you do come.
The food was authentic and very flavorful. The dessert selection at the brunch was amazing. Service pleasant. Would definitely return!
Hugo s menu provides guests an opportunity to experience the best in authentic Mexican food. The Sunday brunch buffet is fabulous. The staff is courteous and the service is good. The flan is some of the best in Houston. You ll love Hugo s.
This is a wonderful restaurant with delicious food, a cool atmosphere, friendly service and reasonable prices.
Had a reservation for a special friend and we made it there a few minutes early and were seated immediately. Everyone was so nice and caring it definitely went above my expectations. Francisco was our server and he made sure we had a pleasant time. I had requested a tres leches cake saying Happy Birthday for my friend when I made the reservation and Francisco knew the perfect time to bring it out. I really enjoyed our experience at Hugo s and would definitely go back, can t stress how much EVERYONE made us feel welcomed. The food was excellent and the Hugo margarita was the best!
I around 3-4 PM on a Saturday. The food was excellent, but the service left a lot to be desired. I say this as someone who worked in restaurants for nearly 14 years of my life. I sat at the bar and it took almost 10 minutes to be greeted and I had to ask for a menu before they even said hello or offered water.
I ordered the pork dish and a pineapple martini. Both of which were phenomenal. The pulled pork was one of the best dishes I have ever had. I say this as a Memphian who extremely judgmental about pulled pork.
The is fine-dining Mexican, so don't be surprised when the dishes don't hit typical Mexican-restaurant price points. That said, you get your money's worth.
Again, all-around great experience, but please pay attention to your greet times.
Fabulous Sunday Brunch! And the musical Group is very talented!
Authentic south Mexican food, exciting cocktails and fabulous service. The chef is from Puebla and every dish came out fantastic. The menu was rather small but diverse (which is always a good sign)! Will certainly be back!
5:00 on Monday. Had flameado and ribeye. Very tasty. Service was exceptional. Nice bar. Large clean ice cube for my double markers.
Delicious food. Something for everyone's taste. Very caring staff, wonderful atmosphere.
Nice Food. Very well served dishes very well spiced
Fabulous food, fantastic service, beautiful surroundings. I can't wait to go back.
