Great experience to stay here and take in what azulik offers. The restaurant was a treat and the rooms are amazing. Service could be better for what they charge you for a night.

Definitely recommend!

You hear wonders of this place.

You hear wonders of this place.

1. The street or road that is in front of the hotel is only 2 vehicles. So it's full of cars on the banks
2. Outside the hotel there is a very strong drainage smell
3. The design of the gallery is extraordinary

I have to say, this place was BREATHTAKING!! The view was absolutely stunning. There is net everywhere that you can sit on that is over the trees. It has these beautiful bungalow type places to sit and look out over the trees. The food was amazing and the cocktails were delicious! The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was beautifully decorated. I highly recommend going here for dinner!!

It's impressive the architecture of this place. It has an ecological concept so, you don't have WiFi service and electricity. It's exaggeratedly expensive for what they offered but you can try one night. The experience it's completely different.

Although the views and the decoration are spectacular. The service leaves much to be desired, I am sorry but it is not what it was and it does not compensate. I WILL NOT COME BACK. Especially the ill-educated, ill-informed and unprofessional hostess. They let us go to a "nest" to have a drink, and after asking (30 dollars each drink) they tell us that it is not possible to sit there and that we get up. YOU HAVE TO HAVE A HARD FACE. I'm sorry I do not recommend it and I'm not coming back.

From its optional nudism its beach protected its facilities everything in this place is amazing and spectacular there is no better aphrodisiac than a few days with your partner and nothing and it offers you in a spectacular way this hotel has everything you need and it is nothing. just enjoy being and being is not cheap but if what you plan is to recover your relationship or strengthen or start a this is the recommended place 100% hey believe me is worth every penny.

Honestly, I do not understand why it costs what it costs, the room is small, the bathroom is inside the room, which means that if you want to use the toilet, you will leave the room smelling , it does not have a shower and if you want a shower, you must use what is shared, what is in the room, is a bowl (Mayan bath) in which you have to bathe in jicarazos. The ceiling fan is a Cyclone, if you go in the rainy season, your room will become a pool. With that experience they changed our room, but even so, there were leaks and the bathroom was completely wet, and the switch to turn on the wet fan (I could electrocute myself), the fan remained a Cyclone, despite being a much more expensive room what the original what we pay.

There is not much to do in the hotel, as there is only one pool in the entire hotel and it is shared in two rooms (that is, it is not for everyone).

The only thing I paid (for the high costs) was a pair of pina coladas and they were $ 384.

Conclusion, it really is not worth paying so much for this place, you will have better experiences in any hotel other than this.

P.S. They do not let you smoke or on the terrace of the room for "fire risk", but they use candles to light the room, which is a total incongruity.

Extremely beautiful place (wooden villas)
Very tasty and excelent breakfast.
Beware to the construction and the no-privacy at all
Beware 2 the beach is nodistic.

Cons:
Intruction noise from 8 ap until 7pm
No privacy at all in the rooms (glass walls)
The wooden bridge to the villas is very high and not safe at all, very dangerous!
Noise from the villas above in the night, cant sleep. Very annoying.
Not enough chairs at the beach (only 8 ot 10)
Wifi works only at the lobby.

The setting was beautiful. I went at night but preferred to have gone in the day time with my girls. The night time has more of a romantic feel. The food was too fancy...to say the least. I say look at the menu before you go. The bread was good though. It was my birthday and the have me a plate that said happy birthday with a blueberry on it.... I would definitely go to another spot next time. Customer service was ok

This place is a CONFIRMED SHOW! The attention of the director Andres Caprez, director of the resort was exceptional. He took the time to help us with any problems or questions we had. Your work team is excellent, the concirge, Ali and Aurelio Castillo who work in the Japanese restaurant will give you a very good service.
On the other hand, this resort has some kind of nests that are a dream. I have been so in love with Azulik that I even decided to take the photos of my engagement in this place using his photographer
Another fact cannot visit Azulik without attending the museums, that is another world Sfer Ink and Um May. In Um May they have a restaurant and the food was excellent as well. I have everyone wondering what part of the world I am in because they say it is a dream!
You can frankly say that my 31st birthday plus our commitment will be unforgettable because of Andres and Roth's attentions. Those 2 people took their time to explain every corner of this beautiful place. I can already say that I know a little piece of Azulik and of course this will not be my only visit, I must return to Villa Aqua. Wao that's beautiful
Finally looking forward to the photos of the photographer. I recommend this place;)

After having called several times to ask about the sunset event, and having told us that it had no cost and that we only had to be there at 5 in the afternoon, the first day we went and after waiting almost 45 minutes they told us that there was a last minute event and that it was not possible to enter. The next day we called to make sure before going and from three calls we made we received totally different information, one that had no cost, another that was 55 dollars per person to enter and that they gave you a courtesy drink .... and They continually changed the capacity of the event according to what you talked to one person or another ... well, a terrible organization and robbery at the entrance

Incredible small boutique spa and hotel! Very natural, yet chic. Loved the staff. Wasnt thrilled with my hot stone massage, but probably my fault. I was looking for a deeper massage, but it was too light for me. My sister-in-law and friends were very impressed with their treatments.

Amazing in everything!

Amazing in everything!
One of the "craziest" restaurants I've ever met.
All built in heights !!!
Like large huts suspended and interconnected by bridges under the canopy of trees.
Value salty and dinner only "tasting menu", however food of excellent quality and perfect execution!
Service also very professional with presentation of each dish in detail.
For those who want a very different experience, it is worth knowing!

Two things happen with this place, if you're going to be prepared to eat as if you were in a toks, the food in general insipid, we ordered 6 dishes and none excelled all with presentations that surely are not worth what they cost. The hotel is beautiful if it is the first time you visit Tulum, but believe me there are better ones, understanding that it is a hotel that takes great care of its resources and that it does not have ceiling fans ... consider going as little as possible because the restaurant is A sauna does not run the air and they do not even have fans. Believe me when I tell them not to get carried away by what the visitors say, I am a local and this Hotel has nothing spectacular except the bad performance of the Chef

My wife wanted to stay at this hotel. It was beyond our expectations. The whole place is a work of art. It is a great option for those who want to have a luxurious experience in a eco friendly 5-star hotel that was built IN the middle of the Mayan jungle. Astonishing view, and pristine beach. You won t regret it!

The hotel has an amazing view however the customer service was horrible employees are not friendly and they don t make you feel welcome....
I got to the hotel early and I know the check in was until 3:00 but I was at least expecting my room ready by 3 and literally got it at almost 4:00 and they took another hour to bring my lounges they offered me a drink for the inconvenience but it was at a specific time and day for this which make no sense when it was their fault for having a poor customer service..
I paid more then 800 dollars a night for my villa and honestly it wasn t worth it just because of the customer service if you are reading this review think about if you want to give your money to a place where they don t treat you properly also I wasn t the only person complaining about this place.

Beautiful place but the price is waaaaay too inflated because of how popular it's become in the past 2 years. I recommend Airbnb ig you're staying in Tulum, but if you got money to blow or someone to impress and a big enough wallet this is the place.

One of the worst experiences during our last time ...

One of the worst experiences during our last time in Tulum and definitively the type of situation that would happen more frequently in what was a magical place at some point before.

After making a reservation to celebrate my mom's birthday (and specifically telling them that we had a kid on the group at the time of the reservation) they didn't allow us in when we showed up at the Japanese restaurant with my 10-year old. The manager, showed no care about letting me and my family without a dinner that was the start of the trip to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday, at 9pm on one of the busiest Fridays of the year in Tulum.

Sad what this kind of places are doing to what once was a magical place to enjoy with your loved ones. For the record, I've been coming to Tulum for over 8 years already, this is not coming from a once in a long time experience. Azulik represents what many have been trying to avoid in Tulum for years.

Worst hotel ever the owner is liar had to call the cops to get our stuff and force ourselves out.

Where to start this place is expensive and pretentious and its service and installations are nasty.

We had to call the police to recuperate our bicycles and despite having payed our stay and been offered a refund for the awful service and instalations we were nearly physically impeded from leaving because the management wanted us to sign an agreement not to comment on the internet or sue the hotel .

The place pretends to be ecologically minded yet is built right on the sea which in mexico is forbidden as it destroy local vegetation.
The whole place smells of rot
There was no water for one whole day
There is hardly enough hot water for one certainly not for two.
The water in the bedrooms smelled of gutter as it was directly taken from some water hole
When it rained outside it leaked inside right onto our bed and onto our clothes
The rooms are literally see trough which means that neighbors and staff have direct view onto your bed and since the bathroom is inside the room well inside that too.
Bedrooms have no shower
Bedrooms have no WIFI as if this was somehow anti ecological
The crapper is in a round cubicle in the bedroom, no insulation, no ventilation and a see through door so that you significant other can enjoy sound, view and smell romantic indeed.
Last but no least the entire hotel is build in wood and lit with candles, there are no smoke detectors in the room which are unreachable to fire truck .. when a fire eventually will brake out tragedy is assured .

After two days of no water, then getting our stuff leaked on, having neighbors or workers peep in, and despite having been offered another bedroom we were offered the possibility to have our last day reimbursed and leave. For ruining a whole evening we were offered a dinner at the hotels restaurant.

After refusing to refund in cash the 650 US$ of the last day the room manager a person called Andres wasted our entire morning in organizing the refund .. then refused physically to let us leave the hotel if we did not sign a paper liberating the hotel of any lawsuits or of any negative comment on social medias. I have never seen a hotel demanding such a document. I only managed to leave by having to force myself out, the hotel guard tried to physically halt us and it was only by threatening the police and accusing them of kidnapping that we managed to leave

The next day when we came for our bicycles which were local rentals, the manager had them chained and refused to let us retrieve them if we did not sign the agreement mentioned above, such is their fear of being exposed for what they are.

This we solved by calling the local Police . Who forced them to hand over the property or charge them with theft.

Needless to say they have cancelled the reimbursement which just goes to show what a dishonest lying and hypocritical outfit the place is.

There were goods and bads about this beautiful place. First the good....clearly it is BEAUTIFUL. What is lacking in anything else, they make up for with their gorgeous huts and amazing location on the cliff edge. The rustic attention to detail is just lovely, and using candlelight at night was very romantic. The service, reception and overall professionalism was a huge plus.
Now some things to be aware of before you book...Expect to have essentially NO privacy other than using the toilet. All the ocean side huts are next door to each other so you are right next door to your neighbors when on the balcony. Most of the windows aren't covered either so even when you're inside the hut pretty much anybody can see inside. If you're not shy, no problem!
Also be aware that the water from the faucets is salt water, which can be a little weird when you're bathing. Didn't bother us too much. It was VERY hot inside the hut at night, since there are no fans. We kept the ocean-side doors open all night, and although there was a great breeze the mosquito net we had to use (too many bugs with the doors open) really blocked the breeze.
Last thing, there is no actual "beach" at this location. It's lovely and is right on the water, but basically a very cliffy/rocky area. Just a 4 minute walk down the rocks you can use the neighboring sandy beach though.
Overall, I would say it is definitely expensive for what you're getting, but may be worth the price for some just to have this unique experience.
Oh and they have the BEST lotion/shampoo/soap EVER!

One of the most ASTONISHING places in the Riviera. A visit here is a total MUST! Even if you don't drink or eat anything, this place will blow your mind away!

Kin Toh restaurant is VERY EXPENSIVE, but a sunset here is worth the bill. Ask for a Nest Table.

Tseen Ja restaurant is the best Sushi and Nigiri place in Tulum...also VERY EXPENSIVE.

Must see: Nest Tables, ik Lab (art gallery), Hanging Nets in Kin Toh restaurant & Sunglass SECRET Shop.

After making a booking for two nights here, I was so nervous reading the reviews on here! People are so critical of their experience at Azulik. My girlfriend and I stayed here for her 30th birthday and I had so many high expectations for this place. Our experience was nothing short of amazing. I had emailed before arriving asking for something special to arrive to for my girl s birthday - and they delivered! Flower petals all about the room and delicious brownies. We stayed in a sea villa, which was gorgeous. I will put one tip here - if you re going to shell the money for a villa, do a sky villa! We had noisy upstairs neighbors and, since we were in a sea villa right below them we could hear their music, walking around, etc very clearly (they were insanely loud). We didn t have any complaints about the nightclub - the sound of the ocean drowned out any nightclub oontz oontz . Not sure what the experience would be in a jungle villa though. This place is pricey but amazing. I say go for it - reconnect in this badass jungle maze!

It is an excellent place, a wonderful experience and the attention is first class.
Recommendation to women: at night there is no light, only candles. Do not wear high heels.

I had an amazing time. We ate in a nest and there was an electronic party on a terrace. I would not know where to begin to describe the place. From the museum, the shop you have, the winery ... The octopus was excellent. Wine and tequila

Boutique hotel with a very personal and elaborated conceptual design. Every detail very well thought out. Kin Toh, excellent table, ppal room a little hot, nests and balconies very cozy spaces. A must go in Tulum!

This review is for the restaurant Cenote, located in Azulik.

First, the parking is awful. We pulled in for valet parking, the drivers directed us to park on a side road, we took 5 minutes to park, and they told us we couldn t park there. We then got our side mirror dramatically smashed by a truck driving by.

After parking again in valet and insisting they park our car, we were directed to the restaurant.

As someone with dietary restrictions, allergy labeling is very important. They didn t have a few dishes marked gluten free that should have been, and when asked, they insisted it was in fact gluten free. We ordered two dishes and a juice for $36. The dishes came out and were the smallest portions of food I have ever seen served (literally smaller than an appetizer). They gave me 3 tortillas the size of a baby s palm, with beans, tofu cream , some pretentious garnish, and a serving of guacamole that was bigger than the entire dish itself. I left and went straight to Zamas to get a proper breakfast, as I was still starving after eating.

Spend your money elsewhere.

Dream stay in this extraordinary hotel. No two are alike. Perfect for couples. It seems to me that he is an adults only.
The staff were very attentive and made arrangements for us.
No wifi, little electricity, perfect for disconnecting and enjoying this heavenly place 100%.

Probably the worst bar I've been to in a long time and there are plenty of other great bars in Tulum, so keep on moving past this one. Staff are rude and believe that they are there to serve the rich and famous (everyone else is viewed and treated like a peasant - and there were no rich and famous in sight!). More of a place for those stuck in the Insta bubble who want to take photos to show everyone what a great life they lead in front of their phones... Cover charge of 1000mxp for 2 plus another 200mxp for an administration fee (wt..!!). Was very hot up there and no ventilation, so all in all a very uncomfortable hour.

Definitely the design, architecture, art and mystic creativity of the place is something that you have to go to know if you are in Tulum, visiting the Museum has not cost as well as the boutique and it is something that you will remember for a long time.

We stayed in the beach villa for 2 nights. Our friends also stayed in the beach Villas, we where all upset by our stay. It smells like waste, terrible customer service, they cannot tell guests from visitors treating everyone as a security breach. getting lost is a hype word for frustrated and confused wasting time figuring out where to go. Zero privacy. Living in an art installation. This hotel is a instagram picture any other expectations will be a disappointment. For 1,300 a night I have had better service at a Holiday Inn. Stay somewhere else.

The service is awful! It doesn't worth the price you pay. Noisy rooms, poor access and below average foods. At the end also they made a mistake and charged my credit card for other room charges and not mine. And again charged my card for my charges and not returned the deposit.
I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. They made a good website and photos to sell, but it is not what you may expect of it.

Hippie-Chic luxury hotel in the paradise of Tulum, if you need rest, relaxation, a good massage, landscapes and dreamy sea, this is the right place. If yours are the premium hedonic pleasures and you can pay for them, this place will enchant you!

The following scenario; We wanted to ask the gentleman something in front of the entrance and were snapped at before we even opened our mouths. Very rude staff. We wouldn't spend a cent there.

we stopped by today, asking if we could get in to have a drink as we were considering staying at the hotel during our next trip here next month. The guy at the entrance refused to let us in, even for 1 min so we could talk to the reception to discuss rooms.

It would have taken him 2 mins to show us around very quickly so we could have come back later as client. We tried to be nice, but he was trying to be bossy. The hotel should reallt re-consider its people who "welcome" clients or future clients.

We ended up spending the night at Nomade => it's was awesome.

I would rate this place 5 stars for the looks of it, IF the policy of the management would not see their clients as walking wallets. It starts at the entrance where you need to have a 5 minutes discussion in order to get a table for lunch even tho the restaurant was almost empty. Arriving upstairs you will be greeted by a hostess who explains you that every table comes at a different price tag. Just to remember this is not a nightclub but an empty restaurant on a thursday afternoon.

Regarding the food we had high expectations but unfortunately we got very disappointed.
Our Guacamole was mostly avocado and had no special taste to it. Again the looks were good. As a main we got ceviche which looked like a starter and a Burger with cottage cheese, no dressing but dripping juice from the meat all over and fried chips. Not as tasty as it looks unfortunately.

On the bright side we had to say that our waiter Juan P. was absolutely professional and even offered us to take free pictures of us on different locations in the restaurant with our phone. Thanks again for it.

We will remember this as an experience but wont come back during our next trip.

Beautiful but wayyy OVERPRICED!!!!!! Is a very simple hotel they dont even have a common area for someone that just wants to see the whole in the inside they escort you . They need to at least have a 1 day pass for people who can not afford to pay $350-$700 per night.

The hospitality was incredible. The vibes. The FOOD! The security. The rooms. The first night we were a little surprised at the fact that there are hardly any lights in your room at night. It makes it a little difficult to dig through your suitcase and get ready for whatever activities you have planned. Miguel (the resort host or maybe manager - I don't know his title), was very helpful and brought us more candles (mosquito candles which are needed). But by the second night we were used to it and really embraced it. Taking a bath at night listening to the waves crash and watching the stars was incredible. We had a little hiccup, the floor above us somehow left their tub on and it ended up leaking through the floor and getting some of our luggage wet. Sophia (manager) and Miguel were so quick to get us a new room AND comp us a sky nest experience for dinner at Kin-Toh (their restaurant). We had no idea there was even such an option to have dinner in basically a cozy private birds nest in the sky with views on one side of the ocean and the other a jungle basically, so this hiccup was a blessing in disguise. Now let me tell you about the FOOD!!! I am a foodie. A somewhat picky foodie which can get complicated. The chef blew my mind. It was truly one of the most memorable meals I've ever had. His creativity of flavors and textures was insane. I actually asked to meet him so I could thank him in person for the experience. Breakfast as well - I loved that when I asked for my eggs over medium plus, he knew exactly what that was and cooked them perfectly. The restaurant manager Jesus was also extremely helpful and kind. The entire staff was just lovely. I will go back to Azulik for sure. So grateful for such beautiful places like this in the world.

If your vegan, do yoga, into alternative Mayan spirit baths and smoky rooms, under 6ft, don't mind viewing the entire human anatomy at the beach or even on the decks, are concerned about the environment, don't care about being 100% clean every night (no showers just baths and only saltwater comes out of all the taps so soaps and oils don't completely wash that well), and finally don't mind a fan as your only source of relief from the heat then this is the place for you. I think this is a great weekend getaway, not weeklong vacation. What makes this place special is the deck view and food, but definitely for a niche clientele.

P.S. Bring a strong mosquito repellent, many times did I have four different layers of repellent on at once and one of those bracelet thingys from the drugstore.

Definitely worth a visit, if only for a drink, although the restaurant did look very good too. Everything about it is stunning - the bar, the terraces, the hammocks, even just the tables and chairs. For an evening drink, they are open from 5.30pm, although people were queuing from slightly earlier. Great quality cocktails and surprisingly no more expensive than any other decent drink on the jungle road.
