This is a good sushi place if you're into more novel sushi rolls! The fish isn't as fresh as ones I've tasted at other places, but they have unique spins on their specialty rolls which are flavorful.

This was one of my favorite sushi restaurants in San Diego and we would come here often when we lived close by. Came back today for lunch and it was nice to see the place has been renovated recently. The service and food is still excellent. They have the basics but also many creative rolls that you won't find anywhere else.

Excellent sushi, sashimi, wide selection of entrees and a la carte, made to order, colorful presentation, fine service. I tried the hamachi kama, Azuki salad with sashimi, garlic edamame, and then green tea creme brulee, which they served with a side of berry ice cream and fresh berries. Yum!!

Made reservations easily online, even had to bump them back--they accommodated us happily. Beautiful and clean, friendly staff. Chefs nigiri selection was perfection--best scallop in the city, eel was to die for! The "R U Serious" roll is the star Of the show. Get it!!! Special thank you to Jorge for spoiling us with a complimentary dessert to finish our week stay in SD!! Get the toffee cake and fried banana/azuki thingies

The prices here are high. But it is worth it.

The quality of the fish is on par with places in tsukiji fish market in Tokyo. The chefs here really understand the importance of the acidity of the rice as well as the texture and temperature.

Their amkimo is easily some of the best I've ever had. Rich yet delicate. The consistency and texture were also on point.

My daughter and I came here for my birthday and it was the best sushi either if us have ever had. They had so many inventive options. We had two waiters through the evening and the first was a little prickly but the second more then made up for it. Can't wait to go back.

I went to this restaurant a couple of weeks ago for my friends birthday dinner. The food was delicious and the service was alright. Our server barely cracked a smile though and wasn't friendly at all despite trying to joke with her to break the ice. A few days after dining here, this server decided to give herself a nice tip on my credit card. I called the other girls I was with and come to find out she tipped herself over $40 on each of our cards on top of what we had already tipped her. I tried calling this restaurant several times but there's not even an option to leave a voicemail. The website also doesn't have an email for me to reach out to a manager. Granted, $40 isn't going to break the bank but the fact that I can't even talk about a solution with a manager is super disappointing.. I had to resort to disputing the charge with my bank..

High quality ingredients and sushi at reasonable prices. The service was great. Next time I'm in town, I'd love to stop again. The sushi looked so good I forgot to take a picture before I ate it.

A gem. The atmosphere was quaint but the food is amazing. I'm not a sushi guy but everything I had was awesome. Our waitress Stephanie and her support staff were spot on and attentive.
For those who don't like sushi they have a menu of amazing items created by Chef Kevin Alvarado that will knock your socks off. He is amazing.
A great time had by all.

Service was great, our waitress was awesome. The food, was EXTREMELY disappointing. We got 5 different rolls and they were all terrible. The salmon in the roll was so tough it was difficult to chew, I really didn't expect such terrible quality of food :(

This is my favorite sushi place in all of San Diego! As long as I don't land to late this is always the first place I go and eat. I make it a point to eat here more than once when I come back to San Diego/home. The Otoro is incredible! Everytime I come back and have this I question why I moved away from San Diego.

The aesthetic, the decor, and the place of this dining establishment are all wonderful. Street car parking was rather simple to find right outside, and the solution was prompt and also conscientious despite being active. Now for the food, we got crunchy rice spicy tuna appetiser, Kobe, Stardust, and also the chef's option 7 pc nigiri. The appetiser and Kobe roll were absolutely my fave. The crunchy rice spicy tuna is different yet so satisfying for an appetizer (plus we went throughout delighted hour for fifty percent off!) The Kobe was flavorful and meeting. Stardust was a good, however a pretty conventional sampling tangy roll that really did not wow me. For being on the costlier side and popular for their nigiri, I was underwhelmed. The salmon and also tuna were great as well as I appreciated the appearance, but the various other pieces were unsatisfactory. With any luck I can try a few other products that will make me change my mind. I would definitely return for the appetizer and Kobe roll, as well as try a few other prominent rolls!

I've been here twice to eat and loved the Sushi. The DJ Roll was tasty and so was the fresh Maguro and Sake Nigiri. Friendly attentive staff, has sushi bar available. Very close to Balboa Park!

This place is amazing! You wouldn't think such a small place in Bankers Hill could have amazing fresh sushi! I'm a huge fan of the New Style Sashimi that most places don't offer, I definitely recommend that you try the pon-hama sashimi. The Kobe roll is also one of my favorites on the menu, the seared wagyu beef really adds a unique flavor to the roll. Azuki also carries Delirium Tremens, they know good beer.. The back covered patio area is a nice area for a date, the tables aren't too close to each other which is nice for a little privacy during conversation.

We ate outside on the sidewalk due to social distancing and it was a nice change. They had heaters since it was bit cold out. I had the "Stardust" and the "By the Border Roll" and they both were delicious. Not too much rice and the perfect bite size. This was my first time eating here and I'll definitely be back. I kept peeking at other people's orders so I have a list of items to try.

We went there once and returned a second time because everything we had was so good. Definitely one of our best finds in San Diego. Try the salmon risotto, creamy, buttery taste and the salmon cooked to perfection.

After eating at Azuki Sushi ( I had the Miso Soup & the Seaweed Salad ) my stomach immediately began to hurt. I then went home with a stomach ache and ended up throwing up multiple times that night. I would not recommend. I would encourage others to stay away & not eat here. If I had the option I would give it 0 stars, if not negative.

One of the best places for Sushi in San Diego period. It is a small space so I highly recommend getting reservations as soon as possible. For additional info definitely check them out on Yelp.

Min is amazing!! He's 10 stars! Not our original server, over the course of our dinner he saw we needed a few things and took it upon himself to take care of my table. Massive thank you to Min! I'm a server myself and I can't tell you how much I appreciated him noticing tables that were not even his.

Rest of the meal was fine. Way too much of the fried whatever it was on the are you kidding me roll, which was good but no where near are you kidding me good. The scorpion roll was that good though. The soft shell was amazing, the shishitos were stellar as was the sake.... and Min!
Otherwise, rather pricey for sushi this close to the ocean. Definitely felt like I was paying for the, *ahem* "ambience".

A very intimate and pleasant dining experience from start to finish. We were welcomed by the staff and taken to the covered patio area where it felt very zen like which was perfect for the two of us. The waiter recommended a cold sake "kinka" to fit our taste of sweet and filtered. Each roll was infused with freshness, each bite was full of bright tastes. Enjoyed the super dragon, rainbow, and green roll. More exotic rolls to taste next time with someone more adventurous. Sushi as an art really, visually beautiful with delicate composition of ingredients.

Azuki has it all. A great neighborhood feel but with world class sushi and dishes. Best nigiri I have had in years. Sit at the bar to see how much car they put into each role. Go with By the bay roll, Sunshine roll and get the quail egg sushi.
