Sushi was absolutely delicious and high quality. Every bite felt freshly made and the presentation was very neat.

Customer service was fast, polite, and very attentive from the moment we got there.

Just awesome sushi! Came in later on a Saturday and was able to quickly get a table for 5. Try the On The Border roll, it's amazing! Great menu, drink list, and chef's specials. Wish I lived local so I could come back often.

One of the best meals I've ever had. The sushi was presented in an artful and pleasant way, the Miso soup was fabulous, and the service was amazing. Make a reservation as this place is popular. Will definitely eat there again when I'm in town.

This place gets quite busy so show up early or book ahead. Its a bit misleading from the outside looking in because it looks smaller then what it really is. The front entrance is quite small and gets a bit crowded. They also have an upstairs but me personally I find the ground level more intimate.
As for the food some of my personal favorites are the stardust, ahi poke and on the border roll. But they have lots of good dishes even some that are eaten alive. Price is fair also for the quality you get.

Fresh, healthy, home-made and DELICIOUS? Hard to believe, but yes this kind of place do exist! Very chill vibe and the staff is so friendly. If you like Asian fusion and everything I've said so far, GO GO GO.

Best sushi in San Diego by far. It was so fresh and both the atmosphere and staff were great. I have lived down the street for almost 2 years and I can't believe I am now discovering this place!

This is a hidden gem in San Diego. I was introduced to it by a very good friend and I'm glad she did so! We go quite often and you can't go wrong when you order the soft shell crab! It's tempura covered and it's bliss in your mouth. The staff is uber friendly and very attentive. The spot is perfect for a date night, for sure! The restaurant has patio outside that is intimate and a tad bit whimsical. But even when you get a seat at the sushi bar, the experiences has always been a good one!

The R U Kidding Me? roll is the lightest sushi roll I have ever eaten. I'm a sushi snob and will not eat in most places. My go to meal is extra spicy tuna hand roll, eel and soft shell crab appetizer. I had sushi first in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles. I use this as a comparison and Azuki is fantastic. Super stoked to have found this gem. Quick note, bring something to stay warm if you get chilly at all. Waiting out front and the back patio can be cold for some, and it's right on the verge, so a light jacket to warm jacket, person depending, is a great idea. I was not cold but my wife was a bit chilly.

We ve been enjoying Azuki for the past 8 years. They are always on point and has the most unique rolls in addition to premium nigiri/sashimi selection! Tonight, we are enjoying takeout on our rooftop :)

This is one of my favorite sushi spots in San Diego. Living in California it seems like there is a sushi restaurant every other block but in my opinion, none of them compare to Azuki. The nigiri is so fresh, I have never tasted anything like it. It is almost like it is flopping around in my plate in front of me. I also love their rolls. I like simple rolls more than those crazy rolls that are popping up on more and more sushi menus. If you want some A+ sushi in San Diego go to Azuki.

Deliciously original, the Kobe roll, tempura, along with all the other items blew away the other sushi restaurants. The highest quality fish prepared by master sushi chefs and served by friendly and professional staff who understand that dining is an experience, not just serving food. This is definitely my go to place for sushi in San Diego.

Absolute best sushi I had hands down, no question about it. Rice wine was delicious and they have Sapporo on draft! Try the Eddamame for an appetizer. The garlic soy sauce they make is absolutely perfect. Didn't have time to take pictures... the food didn't last long.

Great service and a really cool location. Portions were somewhat small for the price, but nevertheless quality plates. Great variety of rice wine, served by the bottle or carafe. I would definitely recommend the green roll event if you are not vegan.

Hands down the best sushi restaurant in San Diego in terms of the perfect cuts of sushi available. Try to get a seat at the sushi bar. My favorite place for Chutoro. I would recommend making reservations. Great staff, great chefs, walking distance to Balboa Park.

Came here after a day at the San Diego zoo and arrived a few minutes before they opened. When they did open, they asked if anyone had reservations and those that did were taken in, the rest of us had to wait and see if they'd have room for us with their reservations. They did! We were led upstairs to a pretty outdoor area with a nice breeze and heat lamps when it got too chilly. Service was a bit slow but they were pretty packed so not gonna complain, it was still friendly and helpful service. The food was freaking amazing! We are both sushi lovers but had obviously never been anywhere this good because wow. Everything was super fresh and tasty and they didn't drown their rolls in too much sauce. I'm usually a sauce and cream cheese guy with my sushi but the lack of sauce and total absence of cream cheese didn't phase me. We both loved this place and will be back. Receipt is just so you have an idea of what to expect if you take your special someone.

I found Azuki from Google Map and loved the fact that I could virtually walk into the restaurant with Street view.
Loved their great selection and very fresh Sushi/Sashimi. Fantastic Service, and the decor is interesting with the screen and the garden on the back is nice as well.

Great cozy restaurant with a cool upstairs patio dining area. Salmon special presented several types of salmon. Amazing quality sushi and this place makes an effort to source fish responsibly with their menu changes

The food and service is always outstanding. The only problem is deciding what you don't get to eat each time you visit. The Lobster roll seems over the top, but it's well worth a try. On the high end for sushi, but here the difference is clear. Individual pieces here are excellent, rolls are creative and not overly sauced. Enjoy.

Stumbled upon this restaurant as I was starving and didn't know where to go from Balboa Park (walking). Nicely surprised! A small room with only few tables, decorated with a lot of taste. The lunch menu offers a selection of cheaper options but nonetheless crazy tasty! The chicken teriyaki is to die for and the sashimi were just melting in the mouth. Without forgetting about the service which was perfect. Fabulous!

Phenomenal!! Super fresh. The Otoro is to die for. Even a few gluten free rolls on menu. (I recommend the Vertigo. Crisp green apple, thin cucumber for wrap, nice light ponzu sauce. Check the menu because I'm leaving out some items.) I went for lunch on a whim and was early. Think they opened at 11:30. Within literally the times it took for me to order, they were already asking people if they had reservations. I love sushi and especially sashimi and am from Seattle (and lived in Japan for 3 years) so a bit of a seafood snob but this is by far one of the best sushi places I've patronized. (Ironically, my Lyft driver home is a local sushi chef and he whole- heartedly agreed with me!)

Imaginative and always fresh, Azuki sushi lounge is a regular stop for us. The downside is sometimes it can be difficult to get a table, as they can get pretty busy. I put Azuki in the top 5 sushi restaurants in San Diego..

Fantastic sushi, sashimi, and nigiri options! They have a rotating menu and chef's specials that are great when you want to try something new or want to sample a few different things. Our sushi and sashimi was some of the best I've ever had.

We were in town on vacation, and this was a great place a little off the beaten path. We felt like we were in an intimate neighborhood spot. We got in without a reservation on a Monday night and were seated near the sushi bar, but for a spot upstairs, a reservation would probably be a good idea.

Absolutely Awesome! A rare Japanese owned and operated restaurant. Very knowledgeable host, server staff, and most importantly, everything we ordered was par excellance! Highly recommend Wagyu Beef, Ponzu Oysters, and real Wasabi.

The sushi here is amazing. We ordered the bonsai roll and the kobe roll. The bonsai was topped with crispy lotus root chips on half of the roll and crispy sweet potato chips on the other half. Didn't do much for the sushi, but they were delicious on its own. My only complaint would be that there was too much of the white aioli on top of some of the pieces, but otherwise, it was very good. The kobe roll was absolutely dynamite. We concluded our meal with the stuffed bananas which was also another home run. Perfectly fried, not at all oily or heavy, paired deliciously with the creamy vanilla ice cream and the sweet and sour berries. Our sushi and dessert also came out very quickly. Love this place!
