Such a kind and caring practice. I would like to thank Emily and Claire for their kindness and support and advice they gave me on Friday and made saying goodbye to Mia much less upsetting than I had expected.

We have used Axe Valley vets for over 10 years and have always been very impressed by their customer service, professionalism and knowledge. Every effort is made to fit you in as soon as possible and appointments are never rushed or hurried. If you are looking for a local vet then look no further.

My story is a sad one of taking my beloved Greyhound to the vets.
After getting run around from other vets and my Greyhound in obvious suffering- I decided to try a second opinion at Axe Valley.

The vet listened to a brief outline of issues and suggested X-ray on hips.
Realising that this could fast become really expensive I asked for a written estimate- to be fair the estimate was fair.
When part way through X-rays they discovered bone cancer and asked if I wanted to proceed further as likely no benefit.
As it would also be on his lungs- even if not yet detectable with an x ray.

Had we have not had children as would have had my Darccy put down there and then.

However the compassionate vets made Darccy comfortable and this allowed children and us to spoil him rotten & come to terms with time when he needed to be put down.

Sadly when the time came we called and the practice were compassionate and efficient at doing what was the only & kindest option.

This is not a review I would want to write as upsetting situation, however we were treated fairly for professional services provided and a kind and compassionate staff.

If we have a pet in need of vets services we would use the practice and recommend them to others

I would just like to say that Axe Valley have been absolutely fantastic after my naughty Doberman swallowed a rubber foreign body. It was not a straight forward case due to the shape etc & there were a few complications with his treatment, not due to the vets service, just due to the severity of the situation. As a result he has been back & forwards into care & out for 3 weeks after his operation & it has all been rather challenging for all the nurses & vets involved. I feel like part of the furniture there, & I was never made to feel like I was in any way not welcome. I was phoned every single morning & evening to update me on his condition, the communication was second to none! I have been an emotional wreck, thinking at one point we were going to possibly lose him. They not only looked after my boy, they showed compassion to us & many times literally gave me a shoulder to cry on. Thank you to all the girls & Dave, we cannot thank you all enough. Its been a journey, but he's getting stronger everyday! I would have NO hesitation in recommending you all... see you soon :-)

I had occasion to take a friend along to the Blackford site on the evening of Monday 28th January 2019. This friend had an ill 'ex battery 'chicken she had had for about 18 months but who had been unwell for several days.
We arrived with the chicken swaddled in her arms in an old towel. Sadly the chicken passed away before getting in to the vet but the receptionists were very responsive, asking a nurse to have a look at the chicken.

The chicken was definately dead but the empathy and gentleness displayed by the veterinary nurse was outstanding. I think this might have been Sara, according to the receptionist today. I have to say every previous encounter I have had with different veternary practices and their nurses have been utterly suboptimal in comparison. I have hitherto frequently found veterinary nurses to be a bit haughty and possibly dismissive of dealing with less 'sexy' animals.

I speak as an 'adult and childrens human nurse' of almost 50 years experience.. This young lady should be an ambassador for your practice, she was lovely and her approach, compassion and palpable love of animals was a tremendous comfort to my friend who had really formed a bond with this chicken

I do not give such accolades lightly, and would most certainly be completing negative feedback if that had been our experience. But it wasnt.

I was so impressed with her attitude and professionalism and clearly love and respect for even dead animals that I am seriously considering moving from another vet we have been with for almost 20 years

Please do relay this to her, get her to add it to her portfolio. She is an incredible asset to your team, the receptionists were all lovely as well.

Thankyou

Terrible Vets! No communication! They used our little dog as a test dummy! If they had done their don properly, she would still be alive! Happy to ask for money but they will never have answers!
