Mrs P. Long Review of Axe Valley Veterinary Surgery
I had occasion to take a friend along to the Black...
I had occasion to take a friend along to the Blackford site on the evening of Monday 28th January 2019. This friend had an ill 'ex battery 'chicken she had had for about 18 months but who had been unwell for several days.
We arrived with the chicken swaddled in her arms in an old towel. Sadly the chicken passed away before getting in to the vet but the receptionists were very responsive, asking a nurse to have a look at the chicken.
The chicken was definately dead but the empathy and gentleness displayed by the veterinary nurse was outstanding. I think this might have been Sara, according to the receptionist today. I have to say every previous encounter I have had with different veternary practices and their nurses have been utterly suboptimal in comparison. I have hitherto frequently found veterinary nurses to be a bit haughty and possibly dismissive of dealing with less 'sexy' animals.
I speak as an 'adult and childrens human nurse' of almost 50 years experience.. This young lady should be an ambassador for your practice, she was lovely and her approach, compassion and palpable love of animals was a tremendous comfort to my friend who had really formed a bond with this chicken
I do not give such accolades lightly, and would most certainly be completing negative feedback if that had been our experience. But it wasnt.
I was so impressed with her attitude and professionalism and clearly love and respect for even dead animals that I am seriously considering moving from another vet we have been with for almost 20 years
Please do relay this to her, get her to add it to her portfolio. She is an incredible asset to your team, the receptionists were all lovely as well.
Thankyou
