As a video user coming up on several years with Avid Media Composer (most recently version 8) I can't say I'm all that impressed with this company at the moment. Not only is the software severely buggy compared to the competition (simply importing clips results in crashing half the time) but their web store support team seems quite uncoordinated, and took nearly a week to sort out a simple error with their subscription payment system. Their phone support team was also completely unable to help determine the problem or offer any solutions during this time, because apparently the two departments can't work together at all. Overall Media Composer would actually be a good product if they could sort out all these issues, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars.

You've probably never heard of Avid and if you have then you might work in the broadcast business. Avid has been the leader in film and television editing over the last 20 years. They were the first company to edit two film clips on a computer and the rest is history.

Most Hollywood films are finished on an Avid editing system. The Media Composer software runs on both Mac and PC computers. AVID also owns ProTools which is the leader in audio editing. Every Grammy nominated album is finished on ProTools.

So this is a really cool place. The lobby is a site to see with all of the Oscars, Emmys and Grammy Awards in the glass cases. I've been lucky enough to get to hold a few of the awards. It's probably the closest I'll ever get to a real Oscar. I've already given my fake speech and I didn't get cut off by music.

The one and only solution for Real Editing systems and software. Don't waste your time with Adobe or Apple. Buy an Avid.

Makers of the most broken DAW targeted towards professionals there is. Instead of fixing issues with pro tools they simply charge 40 dollars to buy a conversation with customer service. My product wouldn't install correctly and they made me pay to talk to someone who could help
