VERY UNHAPPY!

I am very unhappy with the avantcard service. I am trying to close my card for about two weeks, but when I am calling them all the lines are busy but my infromation will be farther away and And they leave a note on the desk next to my documents to be called back and help me be happy and so for I'm still their client and in addition very unhappy customer. Apprently they called back, but they did it on a number that has not been valid for a long time, that I could not pick up, but of course they could have called me. It's funny that when you try to call To create an account they will help you in a few minutes and Im closing the card with this one hopeless company already two weeks

Ongoing problems with their IT system that mean you cannot see your recent transactions when you log in to your account. Told these will be resolved 'by the end of today' and four weeks later still unresolved.
Closed my account as their customer service is appalling

Dealing with this company for years under different owners, the staff are always friendly, obliging when difficulties arise, and are excellent communicators one of the few companies that genuinely deserve 5 stars .

Worst at customer retention and good on customer intake

When I started with AvantCard, they were pretty quick and fast. I didnt ask for a Credit card but sent out to me the credit card. Never used the card.

After an year, they charged me 81 Euro whereas the government fees only 30 Euro.

Finally had to delete my profile from them. Worst experience ever.

Advise: If you would like to think about what will happen with AvantCard after an year, try to avoid those folks. But if we are looking for immediate service, they are very proactive to onboard you.

Horrendous company avoid at all costs. When i was sorting my late fathers estate I paid off what they told me was the adequate payment to the account. I was told they would wipe the small remainder as an act of compassion. A year and a half later the debt they so nicely claimed to have wiped is passed on to a separate company and they wont respond to you on the matter as they say they dont have any details anymore on the matter.wont even answer your queries on the phone.

I was helped by a lovely man on the phone in sales who gave me some hope after a bad pay cut I had but then I spoke to a lady in the credit team and the manner in which I was spoken to was scary.... her name is Karen FYI

I will be removing all my accounts from this place ASAP thankfully AIB were able to approve my refinancing loan but the rates were not as good but it s better than nothing !!

Have dealt with many banks for financing over the years and have to say borrowing money and dealing with avantcard has been a very good experience, although I had to wait a while for the green light to come, it did come and have to say all the staff are very nice and professional to deal with. well done Avantcard. Don't leave Ireland . your services are well needed here!!!!

Got a "GREAT" credit rating! Thought I had a not so good credit score but was pleased to get a cheaper rate on my credit card. Their loyalty program look interesting too. Appears to have lots of decent discounts.

Finance fees crop up every month on the 16th when payments are still less than 30 days on the credit card.

Operates different to any other credit card.

I had just come out of hospital, I'm elderly, couldn't pay on time because of hospital stay was absolutely persecuted by this company. I said I am so ill and was told they were "helping me" by ringing me at one point every 2 hours,I said I couldn't take anymore and they told me to pull my phone out of the socket because that was the only way. It only stopped when I told their supervisor it was harassment.

Slow website and terribly poor customer service when you are trying to leave them.
Instead of them helping you so that you might come back in the future they make the whole a messy experience. Would never go back to them and will spread the word to family and friends to avoid them.

Travelled down to Avantcard as part of an educational trip, studying cyber security. Very impressive. Huge office space, plenty of room to expand into. Friendly and knowledgeable people, good work atmosphere.

Fairly quick and straightforward application process. Got a very high credit limit credit card in 2 days. The promotion on money transfer is fantastic. No interest for the first 9 months! And the application of money transfer and approval is also very quick :-)

Got transferred from Tesco Banking to these. Never had any issues with Tesco banking. Initially Avantcard were ok to deal with but their website is very misleading. I tried to set up a Revolut direct debit by sending in the letter - the staff member said this would work! However nobody from Avantcard got back to me to say they do not accept Revolut as direct debit. So my bill didnt get paid. When I went in online and check, It has "Amount Due" on the account which is only recent transactions and does not include a total amount due on the card. This is very misleading and it is setting people up to have bad credit. In all the years with Tesco Banking they never mislead their customers. Even when you ring up Avantcard they quote the recent charges too and dont tell you about outstanding charges. This means they then give you finance charges. When i tell them i want to pay "everything" off they seem surprised!! Its all set up to purposely put their customers into the red and not user friendly at all.

I applied last Friday to get a loan with Avantcard , got a call then on Wednesday that they looked over it. (They advertise 1 business day and it could be in your account)

When I received the call, I was told congratulations, you have been approved, and that you WILL receive an email tomorrow requesting IBAN to transfer funds into .
Naturally enough, I was happy, waiting and expecting my email.

Well, the email came , Thursday (nearly a week after the initial application) "Unfortunately we are not in a position to give you a loan at this time" . So I rang up and they could not give me a straight answer as to why , after being lied to and given false promises being told I was approved and WILL receive funds , and this was all done on a recorded phonecall.

Its an absolute disgrace.

I tried to close avant card after 10 years and am shocked and horrified how they tried to talk me out of it. It was so underhanded, I really fear for old or vulnerable people who can not stand up to their subtle bullying tactics. I did not expect a financial institution to stoop so low.
