Fantastic service received from Autoguard Warranties for the second time. Twice our second hand car was in the garage and Autoguard has both time covered the cost. The service was straight forward and professional and the money was paid back into my account within the 2 weeks. Also special thanks to Declan who has been very professional and helped me via email and phone. I can highly recommend Autoguard to anyone who hesitates taking out this kind of insurance. This company does actually pay!

There's a good chance with even the most reliable warranty companies that you will pay less of paying all the repairs for the car yourself than initially shelling out hundreds of pounds upon purchasing the car on the chance that something MIGHT go wrong that they MIGHT cover.

Its a gamble at the best of times.

I made a mistake and bought the comprehensive warranty hoping that it would buy me peace of mind for the first few years at least. 6 months later I get something called an electro-valve leak. Valves are covered. Leaks arent. Autoguard are very welled versed in the shpill of 'Although the part is covered, what happened to it isnt'.
From my experience I suspect there will always be a way for them to talk their way out of paying out, so ostensibly, purchasing warranty isn't even a gamble with these guys, it's an outright loss.

I would have saved a lot of money by not purchasing warranty and by simply paying for the repairs as they came up.

We have been using autoguard for just over 2 years now. We have chopped and changed through various warranty companies before hand. However, Autoguard are far superior to the rest. The way the business is ran through to helping out our customers claims is second to none. We have recommended already to many other garages and could not recommend enough to anyone reading this! 5 STAR!! Matt, MP CARS NORTHWEST

Most helpful staff when garage (auto electricians) reported my fault/claim. Unfortunately in this instance I did not use an Autoguard Warranties network dealer and had to pay the garage myself and wait for the reimbursement from Autoguard Warranties after sending in the invoice & claim form.

I am very disappointed with autoguard, turbo actuator has failed, bmw have further updated this part to prevent future problems from occurring, only this requires for both actuators to be changed, my problem cannot be resolved unless both are changed, one cannot be changed due to the update in bracket, I would understand if they agreed to cover for one actuator if only one actuator could be changed, however this is not the case, seems unfair for me to fork out when the warranty company should have done this, what makes this worse is they will only contribute partial payment towards the one actuator because it can be found cheaper elsewhere, just another warranty company deceiving you to beilieve you have peace of mind, only to save them selves money in short term especially if warranty is only for 6 months, pointless for me to have a cheaper part to then only have the same problem after warranty has run out

AVOID this company! Be careful when thinking about buying a warranty it excludes from cover pretty much everything as they say it doesn t cover wear and tear . They sent an engineer out to the garage were my car is, as it needs a new gearbox, the garage also left it all stripped off to make it easier for their engineers. However I was told by the garage that Autoguard engineers didn't even touched or assessed the parts in order to provide an accurate report. They literally walked up to the parts and shouted 'wear and tear , this company is just a big scam!!! Not worth paper it's written on, they use wear and tear to wiggle out of paying for your repair. What they doing is a breach of contract and I will be reporting them to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

We where sold this service when we bought our motorhome. The dealer said it was the best thing ever!! Which in my opinion it s not!! So far we have tried to make two claim both of which have been refused. First claim was for a coolant pipe which was refused apparently not covered as it s made of a perishable material?? Second claim was for a faulty door mirror. Again this is not covered because it s not a mechanical or electrical failure?! We have been told that we must take my vehicle to the company we bought it from next year to keep our 2 year warranty valid. To be honest I don t think this will happen as why would I pay over the odds to get a service done that keeps a warranty valid that doesn t cover any repair. Pointless!!

I ve been an authorized dealer for AUTOGUARD for the last few years and I highly recommend them if you are a secondhand car dealer. They promise what they offer and the 1-2-1 weekly calls from there local reps is great as it gives you a change to physically talk to somebody from the company. thank you Juan Thornes. I bought a used car in November 2016. The main reason I bought this car was because they were offering a 12 month warranty with autoguard I asked about the high milage and autuguard are aware of this and will still cover the car. This gave me peace of mind that if I had any issues they would be covered by warranty. The car had been well maintained and had full Audi dealer service history. What a fool I was. I had a few problems at first that were sorted by car dealer. Then in August 2017 my turbo went. Contacted Autoguard. Had diagnostics done as advised and they just was not interested. After weeks of getting nowhere I got a vat registered mechanic to remove turbo and he found that it was faulty but Autoguard would have none of it. They said wear and tear. The mechanic gave me the turbo for evidence against them. I ended up paying for new turbo to be fitted. Also had problems with my cam I paid for that as well. They had absolutely no intentions of paying for any repairs on my car no matter what they were. My warranty has now run out but that does not worry me as the car didn't really have a warranty in the first place. Please don't be a fool like me. If you are offered a warranty from this company by a car dealer stay well clear of that car dealer and that warranty. Can you please tell me why you agreed to a warranty for this car when you was well aware of the mileage and that you would not pay out.

I received good customer service and support and the claims process was honest and fair, and as stated in the literature. I could always speak to a member of staff when calling for an update and the claim was approved and the money transferred as expected. For me, it was a surprisingly positive and hassle free experience.

I usually do not write reviews but this has to be told I am upset and felt let down and I am still disputing it. They will look for any excuse to not to honour the contract. I bought my car Audi A5 in May from a dealership the car started cutting off couple of times and feels like it's lost its energy so I took it to a VAT garage which liases with autoguard as I had warranty the diagnostic was senser with timing chain issues the garage called autoguard explained what work needs to be done autoguard straight away said car mileage is 97000 the timing chain issues is wear and tear so we can't cover BUT the timing chain was changed in May before I bought the car so its IMPOSSIBLE it's wear and tear which the person wasn't understanding I explained I will not have bought the car if it wasn't changed so I explained I have the email correspondence and invoice from the garage that the work was done by the dealership so they said forward the invoice which I have done after looking at the invoice autoguard decide to say take it back to garage that done the work they should cover you which makes absolutely no sense because I am not covered by that garage and it's 2 hours away which for my car is impossible get there and I will get charge by that garage because I'm not covered by them because they have confirmed they have changed the timing belt and I will have to pay more to get it fixed. So I explained to autoguard it is mechanical failure becasue the timing belt was changed so its not wear or tear and I am not covered by any other warranty to exclude me from the cover I have with them. This has caused me sleepless night's and stress because I am keyworker who has been working myself to the ground to help people in need in this current pandemic but autoguard decided not to help me in this situation which is really unfair and it feels like I have been fobbed off becasue they do not want to pay for the work and looking for any excuse to not to help you it's SHOCKING AND UPSETTING!!

The principle of a warranty on a used car sounded amazing, so I bought 2 years! hurrah I am protected!...until the steering rack failed and Autoguard told me I wasnt covered as its a used car and wear and tear is excluded.
Then why did they sell it to me? After a long battle they finally paid but it wasn't easy. They paid very promptly after the repair. It cost me more to rent a car arguing my case than the policy was worth. Their customer service is excellent, but the policy is questionable. Buy at your risk.

Poor.

Poor.
Dealer said needed a new instrument cluster, Autoguard said it could be repaired, refused to pay more than a third of the claim, and basically left it up to me to sort - not only the rest of the money but finding garages, sending off parts myself.
Save yourself the premium. Like most of the industry - happy to take your money but do everything in their power to not pay out.
Will not be renewing.
Payment finally received about 3 months after completion due to pedantic invoice requirements

Over and above the call of duty

Over and above the call of duty
I was fortunate enough to be able to assist a friend with his claim for a warranty defect on his car and although the defect was noted only a couple of days before a two year warranty expired and there were multiple valid reasons that Autoguard Warranties could have rejected the claim out of hand any of which would have been understandable the company offered an ex-gratia payment to assist with the repair bill.
I would like to thank and recommend them for their efforts and generosity in assisting a client when it was most needed. One often hears of Insurers trying to escape their responsibilities relying on small print and this was most certainly NOT the case.
A big "Thank you" to the team; you have been fantastic

Fantastic! Finally a warranty company that wants to actually help you. Everything from start to finish was dealt with in a professional and friendly manner and they couldn't do enough to make sure i was back on the road as quickly as possible. Im not sure the reason behind the two bad reviews on here but believe me dont let them put you off. Ive made 2 claims now and both have gone through without a problem.

Spoke to Paul, thanks so much for your help Paul. Have a faulty component- engine oil cooler, which is (apparently) covered by their warranty, subsequently causing it to leak. The component needs replacing because it doesn t work anymore (verified by my mechanic). They conveniently have a clause saying they don t fix oil leaks thus rendering half of the possible engine faults/components in their warranty not worth the paper they re written on. Do not use these cowboys.

One of the best Warranty companies I've ever used. I always thought Warranty companies weren't worth the paperwork it was written on, as I have had bad experiences in the past, but I'm so glad to say I was pleasantly surprised by the outstanding service I received from the claims team when dealing with my claim, they were all highly knowlegdeable and friendly and they even paid for diagnostics and it didn't cost me a penny! I would highly recommend this company to anyone- Thank you Autoguard Warranties for restoring my faith in Warranty companies!

Wife broke down at work last night. Remembered the dealer told us we had breakdown cover included in our premium autoguard warranty so gave them a call. Came out within 30 mins and diagnosed a flat battery. Got her going quite quickly. Great service. Haven't had to use the warranty part yet and hopefully won't have to.

I had taken out this warranty on my bmw 2series

I have taken my car into a garage as there was a problem with the car. The garage contacted the company to inform them of what needs doing to the car, and I was informed they are not going to keep up there end of the three year warranty out as I missed a service by some days. Now they have actualy cancelled my remaining 18months of warranty with no refund DO NOT USE THESE BANDITS

After having claimed for a faulty window, I was pleased with the service received.
However, I had another issue with an immobiliser and starter motor that got rather messy.
The outcome was Autoguard not paying for a starter motor that was replaced at BMW main dealer.
Very disappointed and out of pocket, I would not recommend them.

I m not one for giving 5 Star reviews but AutoGuard have been brilliant. Covered the total cost of a replacement fly-wheel on my Volvo. Everyone I spoke to was professional, polite, friendly and reassuring. Fly wheels are subject to normal wear and tear but AutoGuard authorised my repairs with no quibbling. I will be investigating costs to extend my Warranty with this company and am grateful that the Dealer I bought my car from bought this Warranty for me. MJB, Chichester, West Sussex.

I have just renewed my warranty contract with Autoguard Warranties Ltd and was very impressed with the efficient customer service provided by one of their administrator, Sally Clegg, who dealt with an issue regarding the renewal in a highly professional manner.

I really appreciated the clear, well written correspondence and documentation, fast decision making and the prompt response to my e-mails. Whilst I have not had to make a warranty claim, this positive customer service experience gives me confidence that I am dealing with a very professional organisation.

Having been sceptical of vehicle warranties for many years, I feel I must leave a review on my recent experience with my Autoguard Warranties policy. From start to finish on my claim they were understanding, fair and fast with payment. If you are offered an option of purchasing a policy; as I was, then all I can say is don t hesitate, as I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I ve made.

Very fair and honest company to deal with. There is a lot of warranty companies that do not honour what they promise, Autoguard in my experience do.
I have used other Warranty companies in the past but I am very comfortable working with Autoguard as they are very realistic and supportive in relation to warranty claims.
Would not hesitate to recomend.

Systematic in their avoidance of payment for a problem which was stated as covered within their documentation. They have taken the word of a reputable garage and manipulated certain phrases taking them out of context in order to suit their own agenda. I would say to anybody considering using this company to avoid doing so at all costs. Very poor service and the reliance on 'wear and tear' is astonishing. The way they operate allows them to use this caveat as an excuse for almost any problem. Again, do not use !

Excellent service, very friendly and quick. My car had been super reliable for a long time and I get it serviced regularly however one morning it decided to start making 'funny noises'. Luckily I pulled over before the motorway as it was getting worse.

I didn't want to drive it home so after a quick call to Autoguard they swiftly arranged a local garage. It ended up being the dual mass flywheel / clutch so I saved a fortune on the bill.

I don't know much about cars so it was great to have a friendly service who could advise me and help me get back on the road.

I have never been a big fan of after market warranties, as they have never covered anything, and there is always a reason they will not payout, and the labor rates are usually too low for the car they are on, however, the first time I had to claim on my BMW M3 V8, for a brake vacuum sensor, the process was easy and was paid back into my account in less than a week, so very happy. Quick simple and in this case fair. Thanks.

Recently my Autoguard warranty has come to an end....

Recently my Autoguard warranty has come to an end.

Throughout the two years of warranty they have approved both the warranty claims which were

1) Steering rack problem - Near the end of my warranty my car was having steering rack issues so I had took it to a VAT registered garage who had dealt with the claim. For the claim to be approved it took the garage over two weeks and the whole problem took around a month to complete from diagnostics to approval to completion. This is because the steering rack had to be removed to be sent to a third party company for refurbishment which meant that I did not have access to a car for a week and a half.

2) Fuel door does not lock when the car is locked - I had took my car again at the same garage, they had diagnosed the problem and this time as it was a small job the repair had been approved by the warranty company that same day, the job was small as it was just the fuel motor that had caused it to fail.

Bought 6 months cover when I bought my 2015 Audi S3 last December, glad I did because I noticed my coolant dropping ever so slowly and upon inspection found my thermostat cover cracked, took my car to a garage and got in touch with Autoguard and they covered around 80% of the garage bill which helped massively considering how much the bill was.

Honoured the warranty long after expiry of the policy, as I had reported the initial fault 7 days before it expired.
I had to pay the garage directly for the repair / fix, and repayment was made to me from Autoguard within 10 days - very easy claims process, and very well explained.
Professional, and helpful throughout. Would use again on next vehicle purchase.

The warranty does not consider specific situations where the independent network could not find the fault or when multiple diagnosis are necessary. As result, if the fault finding is longer than usual and you need to use the dealer network, a fair bit of the cost is not covered.
Overall not impressed by service and flexibility.
