I usually always love Taronga Zoo and love some of their enclosures but due to covid restrictions they have not got the cable car running and so there is a lot of walking. Where I'd usually do the cable car up and walk down. It is harder without it when you've got a couple of young kids with you. I understand why it's cancelled but unfortunately Taronga Zoo isn't an easy to navigate zoo without it.
Also because of covid most of the food options were shut and I wasn't going to be able to convince the kids to have quinoa. There really needs to be more options for kids too or more clear notifications on the website about what is actually available.
I will return once everything is cleared up and hopefully I can give my 5 stars then.

One of the best zoos I've been to. Close to the city and taking the ferry over is always pleasant. The bird show is in my opinion the most unique shows in the zoo. And can enjoy amazing view of the harbour while been entertained.

You have to be joking! One of the most average zoos on earth. On par with Melbourne Zoo. So boring. Nothing special just the same animals you see anywhere. A lot of enclosures empty. We did the whole zoo under an hour and were completely underwhelmed.

It was nice to finally visit Taronga as we live in Melbourne. We had no idea that it was so steep. If you start at the top with a hired pram you'll have to push it all uphill at the end of the day. Lifts weren't working at the bottom which meant we couldn't take a shortcut from the bottom to the gift shop. The entry was super complicated and members don't get a quick way to enter like the Melbourne zoos. A lot of construction meant we didn't get to see as much as we would have liked. We'll visit again in the future with hopefully a better experience.

And I m Indonesian , I m so proud to be Indonesian , they make miniature of way kambas, so similar, and the tigers here really big and health, thank you for taking care of Sumatra tiger really nice, don t forget to put sunblock because really hot in the summer, I got sun burns although I put sunblock haha really bad! Ah once more, you can use sky train to go back to first entrance, so minimalism your time and energy! We just spent the night at Snore & Roar and Vivid. Wow....

The staff at the zoo were exceptional. They were professional, friendly, helpful and above all passionate about the care of the animals in their care in fact care for all creatures great and small.

The accommodation was fantastic with a view over the city. The meals & facilities also exceptional.

The behind the scenes of the zoo operations was a real eye opener to see the work and dedication of all concerned.

Thank you for a great time

Awesome zoo. Best part were the birds and then the kangaroo area. You could get pretty close to the kangaroos and an emu. It seemed like half the zoo was under construction, but loved the exhibits that were open. It's such a nice trip to arrive via ferry from circular quay and then meander around. There is a lot to see. There zoo is keep very clean and the shows are great. I was able to see the seal show and it was really cool!

Over rated! No big cats on display. The cable car is out of service. Not a great variety of animals, the food is really really bad and really expensive. Almost exploitative! The views are pretty good though. Overall bad value for money

World class zoo with great iconic Sydney views. They have done well to keep it up to date. The shows are entertaining, especially the bird and seal shows. The zoo caters well for both visitors and locals. Behind the scenes, the Taronga also do excellent conservation work

Love most things about this place except the food options & extortionate accompanying pricing! Love the new kids facilities & extensive use of soap & antibacterial hand sanitizers in all bathrooms. As a parent I was hoping for more bathrooms as kids always need to go! Also think they could do much better organising walking tracks to make it easier for people to plan their day. A great day out for the family & fairing it in is another adventure in and of itself.

A great family place, the only negatives were the prices of the food and drink versus the quality and quantity and the staff only seemed to exist in animal enclosures (i.e. zookeepers) and the customer service staff disappeared when inside the park.

It's worth noting that the staff at the entrances are wonderful and very helpful but are often dealing with people who don't speak fantastic English or are in large groups so be patient with them, particularly at the sky lift.

A very unique style of zoo that is on a hillside which you access through a gondola system. The staff and amenities are well laid out with good quality food and amenities. The bird presentation they have is excellent with good presentation and seating.

Not bad for a day trip. The best thing you would enjoy is take a ferry to the zoo base, a gondola to the top and simply walk down the hill watching the animals . There aren't many animals but the placement of the exhibits and viewing arrangements are made in such a way that you get quite impressive views.

Such a great zoo, and it is very close to sydney, a ferry away. A little bit of walking will give you a very interesting range of wildlife. I love the elephants and the monkeys. During Vivid is another world, they do so well each year and you can park you car. Just wear a hat is can get very cold (for sydney)

Terrible. Hugely disappointing. Only a couple of animals in each enclosure. We walked for hours looking for tigers and discovered that the only way we could see a two of them was to wait in line for a plane simulation. Saw a lot of paths, sky, clouds, trees and birds but the main attractions are almost non existent. I ve been to Taronga Zoo dozens of times in my 50 years and this experience was a disappointing low. Really hope things change.
