Love love love this theatre not too large but great viewing from each seat & local Lebanese restaurants are the best
Love it, love it! Great plays and actors. Often thought provoking, always worth watching. If you can afford to subscribe, do so. You will ensure that you see great theatre and save money.
always have good play, watched amazing angel in america part 2 there. The ambience is different with my another favourire theatre - Royal Theatre but it is a bit bohemian and I like the crowd there, which is like a small arty village.
Casual & friendly space. Great staff who make you feel welcome.
Good vibe and nice bar to have some pre - drinks before play. Comfortable seating as well which was a plus. Definitely would go back.
Box office not taking a cut out of ticket prices for emerging artists. Support this good cause.
Fantastic smaller venue where you feel you re part of the scene. We love it
If you want interesting things to think about, see a play at Belvoir Street Theatre.
Watched 'Single Asian Female' - very funny. Small cosy theatre, bar with small meals. Always enjoy coming here, the range and calibre of plays shown are either confronting or fun.
Great vibe but the air con is glacial, please turn it warmer we are suffering! Will need to remember my thermal leggings next time...
Great spot for a drink and a play and conveniently located a stone's throw from all that surry hills has to offer. Recently Watched 'My Name is Jimi' and 'Hir' prior to that. Both excellent productions.
An absolute Sydney institution. Always something great on here
It's been a while since I've been there, even though I only live across the street from it but last time I went there I had an amazing time. From time to time they do quality theatre if that's your thing but I'm not really big on it so I'm the wrong person to be writing about the place really!
Great venue, varying and engaging shows. Viable price point and a hub of the theatre community.
Enemy of the people was a great a play. Belvoir always great.
Fantastic to be back in the theatre! Always happy with the Belvoir crew
"Things I know to be true". Theatre at its absolute best. Every aspect I will remember for a long time.
My favourite theatre. Excellent productions, reasonably priced food and drinks.
Love this theatre, good quality shows (I've seen Calamity Jane and the Wolves) and great wine list. It's a lovely spot to hang out beforehand and during intermission, they even have Negroni!
Wageless days are always good. Queue for tickets but all seats are close. Intimate; diverse audiences;
Varied plays; minimal actors; stage changes - very smooth; if you don't like the play you can leave at interval & it hasn't cost you a cent. Thank you Belvoir Street. Well done & keep up the great work.
Lovely, intimate theatre with parking around (you have to look) and close to food and transport.
Mother was bleak, but brilliantly performed by Noni Hazelhurst. A definite must see
Dusty smelling theatre with uncomfortable seats, could use a renewal really. At least visibility is good from most seats. Food is a bit poor for the price and tehy're using way too much packaging.
Highly respected venue for excellent theatre programming and events :)
Belvoir St Theatre is in a great location, with easy access to heaps of bars and restaurants around Surry Hills. We went to Lil Darling just down the road which was great. The play we saw "The Glass Menagerie" was really interesting, with great local actors. There's a bar downstairs for a drink before or at intermission.
The play and cast were outstanding. Left the three of us all thinking about the contents and a good and necessary reminder of the atrocities inflicted on the Jews by the Germans during the Second World War.
Think they could improve on the quality of eats and wines before the show. Fair quality only.
Amazing independent theatre.
I Love the free performances of their shows every month for the unwaged members of the community such as pensioners & other people receiving centrelink benefits.
The little Down theater was quite comfy. It made you almost part of the production
Great place, the play was awful but the space and service was nice.
I loved it! the vibe, the position and, as far as I know, the program. "Sami in Paradise" it's just brilliant.
Fab venue...great staff...and beaut nite wayching Single Asian Female! 5*****
Great acoustics, great talent! Assured of rich performance
I have been a subscriber to the Sydney Theatre Company (fabulous) but now subscribe to the Belvoir St. The Belvoir St Theatre was started in 1984. I really like the program it offers as it strongly supports Australian playwrights as well. The program is varied and I can honestly say that I have not seen a play I did not like. There is an upstairs and downstairs theatre. The small downstairs theatre often offers one man shows and is priced accordingly. The upstairs theatre is still very intimate and there is not a bad seat in the house. Speaking of seats, if you are tall speak to the box office and get advice about which seats offer the best legroom.
Always something interesting on stage so worth a punt. Some productions sell out quickly but you will get a good view from just about any seat in the theatre. Bar usually very busy.
Great little hidden theatre gem located in the heart of Sydney. Staff were courteous and pleasant to deal with
Saw the wild duck here and it was fantastic. The actors were great, the story was brilliant and the facility is very cool.
Great actors and everyone in the audience has a good view of the stage
Great theatre for subscription holders. Can park nearby if you're early.
Simple yet comfortable theatre. Enthusiastic, helpful and talented cast and staff.
Good variety of high quality plays. Pleasant space though the bar does get crowded. Comfortable enough seating in the theatre.
Please be sure that the service is not very good, but not great service
Belvoir pesent a great range of theatre shows through out the year, check their website for the latest season details. It's always the highest quality performance!
Saw Single Asian Female here and it was such a great time. Great sized venue and excellent performances!
Excellent Theatre Performances in Surry Hills, not far from Central Station
Saw fangirls yesterday, it was amazing. The theatre was great, loved the atmosphere. Absolutely brilliant!
Great local theatre that covers so many different genres. Worthwhile checking out.
Great theatre has everything you need. Easy access from the city
Went to see Single Asian Female. Great spot. Good selection of beers at bar.
Great little theatre space in Surry Hills in Sydney. The intimacy of the space actually assists in the enjoyment of the shows.
It was such a good place to watch drama.. It was neat and good surrounding..
A theater that speaks joy and freedom into the heart of the community.
Also friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere.
Cosy, fairly intimate theatre. Not easy to navigate your way around inside. Ask for help if needed to negotiate levels and theatre entrances
Show Every Brilliant Thing excellent..
Not to be missed
Good theatre with comfortable seats. A little confusing as to where you should go upon entering. Schedule of shows seem to have interval at the same tome, meaning the lobby is crazy busy, at least stagger it to allow customers to get served easier!
Favorite theatre in Sydney for their well curated and brilliant produced, thought provoking plays. A must visit for locals and visitors alike!
Great service at box office and bar. Good food and beverage options...and not outrageously overpriced. Comfortable seating and good viewing from most seats in the upstairs theatre.
