This is a very beautiful zoo. The palm trees lining the front entrance and the enormous oak trees throughout the property are spectacular. Many exhibits were under construction during our visit which is the only drawback. We enjoyed the sea lion presentation, the orangutans, gorillas, giraffe and peacocks.

The place is huge, 58 acres, prepare to walk. It was a hot one today, most of the animals where lazy mode in the shade, but the kids still had a blast. It does suck the water park costs more $$ when u pay enough to get in. I was disappointed that they removed the dinasour thing. The worst thing I've seen was every trash can in the park had bees around them, very very no cool. For the most part food was good, park was clean, staff was friendly.

Not a bad light display. I would say that the target age group is 6 and under.

My kids are 10 and 15. They felt a little let down.

Great photo opportunities with different light displays and backgrounds.

I wouldn't necessarily return to see this again, but I still recommend to families with small kids.

Favorite park. We come here every day. Some of the fields get very soggy after it rains, perfect for puddle-splashing with kids. And the brown-bellied whistling ducks sing most loudly between 5 and sunset. A single swan is mourning his mate, and there are three geese: one girl and two ganders who fight frequently.

Nice park. Great trees. Great places to sit. You do need mosquito spray. They have a nice underused pavilion. There is also a golf course. Sometimes I think it's dangerous to walk near the golf course even though I have never been hit. There are two paths one closer to the homes and one closer in. There are a few gym stops for push ups, pull ups, climbing, step ups etc etc. There is also a bike path. There is a place for children to play. And it's labeled for the age groups. Turtles and birds to watch. Please stop feeding them people, but whatever.

Such a beautiful space to enjoy!!
Amazing oak trees!! Some are so big! Nice water area with an abundance of water fowl. Plenty of people walking and biking and just out enjoying the day. Bathrooms are open and clean. So wonderful to have this park available to escape to a green space and connect with nature!

Beautiful park. Absolutely huge. Right across the street from Tulane, and goes all the way down to the river. Lots of parking, but a lot of it is residential, so watch where you park. There's free parking on the Magazine ST side. Right next to the zoo, sometimes you can bark back and forth with the seals. Great walking trails, lots of playgrounds, and full of gorgeous live oak trees. Close to lots of food options, and Uptown area. Usually lots of people, but never crowded. Great place to bring your dog or small children.
