Atlanta Spirit, LLC Review

Whether you're a self-proclaimed whiskey nerd or brand-new to craft spirits, there's a little something for everyone to sip on at ASW. During tasting hours, you can grab a tour and three tastings for <$10, or opt to add a take-home bottle purchase to your tasting/tour for an extra $20-50. Special edition bottles signed by the staff (including my better half, Chad!) hit the higher end of that range.

Right now ASW has four offerings at the bar (a couple others are in the works, and special releases like The White Dog and the Monday Night collaboration occasionally pop up in the tasting room):
- Armour & Oak, an apple brandy that's bright and floral, like a crisp summer apple pie that's topped with a dollop of fresh whipped cream.
- Fiddler Whiskey, a toasty foraged bourbon with a touch of heat that goes down easy whether it's neat (my favorite way to enjoy it), on the rocks, or mixed into an Old Fashioned or toddy (my second favorite way to enjoy it).
- American Spirit Whiskey, a very lightly aged silver whiskey that's sort of a bridge between vodka and whiskey (think lemonade, ginger mules, brunch, warm weather outings).
- Resurgens Rye, which is actually the first Rye distilled in Atlanta since prohibition! With notes of cocoa and graham cracker, Resurgens is my favorite it's something like a craft whiskey turned adult s'mores in a glass. Super smooth, nice and rich but not too sweet, a little heat. The profile on it reminds me of a mellow Scotch.

The distillery itself is really lovely gleaming copper stills, airy loft feel, cozy leather sofas and chairs. There's always a good playlist on if you're inclined to hang out awhile as you enjoy libations. Sweetwater Brewery is right around the corner if you want to hit a twofer tour (whiskey before beer, in the clear!).

If you're looking for local gifts, there's a mercantile inside the distillery to shop 1821 Bitters, Glencairn glasses, tees and hats, candles, cute dog collars, antique glassware sets and cufflinks.

You can also rent ASW out for private events. My friend Olivia and I hosted a distillery brunch awhile back and our friends mentioned that they loved learning about how the whiskey is made over snacks and sips!

Awesome distillery. I heard and seen it around Atlanta, but came for a benefit night on a whim. Their rye whiskey I particularly liked, and what else they were doing seemed impressive, especially for a distillery here in the Georgia.

I was there for a private event. Nice, cool venue for a small group (60 or less). Especially nice for the whiskey drinkers. Reasonably priced souvenirs too.

Well made, well managed and beautifully designed. Resurgence and Duality are the best two whiskeys I have found in a long time.

I'm SO glad I made the drive down from Alpharetta to visit them! The facility is airy, clean, and very chill. Not only were the spirits worth the drive, but the staff was excellent. I had a great time talking with them and the other patrons about spirits, travel, and all sorts of random topics. They truly enjoy their work and it definitely shows. Even though they were out of a couple spirits I wanted to try (the Fiddler GA Heartwood was one), there were plenty of great tasting spirits to try. My favorites were the Duality and the Fiddler Soloist. I highly recommend making some time to visit them. I will definitely make sure I stop by every time I'm in the Atlanta area.

As a professional wedding DJ we are involved in a LOT of weddings... and American Spirit Works is a great location! You can completely transform the space to create a really cool atmosphere. The facility is managed by Novare Events which handles multiple wedding venues across Atlanta. The staff is on point.

As a Tennessee boy, the whiskey here has great flavor and great variety-and I m glad I discovered this gem.

Great place to hang out! The cocktails are fun and delicious. There s space for private events, and outdoor areas too. The only problem is parking with so many things to do around the distillery.

We took the tour with the tasting, great young whiskey, very educational, and beautiful facilities.

A fine tour and even finer spirits. Fiddler is an excellent bourbon, and the smoky, oaky Resurgence would be a great takealong for a backpacking trip.

A great distillery tour, hospitable staff, and good whiskey. Also, the cooper stills were beautiful and the Tire Fire Peated Single Malt was delicious. The only thing I didn t prefer was that the branding felt a overwhelming. From the vehicles in the lot to the clothing staff was wearing to every surface in the building - everything was branded. It was like getting stoned to death by advertising pebbles. All in all, though, I would recommend.

Not cheap, but the whiskey is phenomenal and the tour is short but cool.

I can not wait to see the wedding photos!!!! Our daughters wedding was absolutely perfect!!!! It could not have been better. Your venue is perfect for a relaxed classic wedding!! The logistics of the venue are perfect. My only complaint is I never made it to the bar to try a cocktail!!! My favorite picture is bound to be the ones up in front of the huge copper distillery vats!!! Thanks for letting us crash your distillery for the most perfect night ever!!! The children had the perfect place to place and said it was the best party ever!

Fantastic distillery run by some great guys. Absolutely worth a visit and will leave you hunting around for a bottle. These guys will convert you to craft whiskey on your first tasting

Very good selection of spirits with knowledgeable tours offered. Wooden nickels are purchased and exchanged for tastes of product or cocktails. Whiskey is produced here in the style of bourbon, Irish style, scotch style, peated scotch, and others. I highly recommend the tour. The owner gives an informative tour explaining the aging barrels, the stills used, exactly what their process is, and explains the marketing gimmicks used by the industry and what the real differences are.

Great whiskey, and cool experience. The process is the same to the big distillers in Kentucky, but they don't keep the barrels in this location. That's OK, though. I look forward to being able to get an actual drink as opposed to a tour!

Great venue! I attended a company Christmas party here and it was definitely one of the best parties that they have done. Mostly because of the venue they chose. I can totally see this is as a wedding venue, it really lends itself to whatever style of decoration you choose. Loved it.

Service was great, even though place was crowed they did a great explaining and describing each one of their products. We also did the tour and it was great talking to one of the founders and how passionate they are about their product.

Decided to come here for a Sunday Funday double date before the pandemic hit. I ve drove past here numerous times and finally got the chance to stop by. It s a couple of businesses in this area and it s all outside or have outdoor access via a patio of some sort.

First, parking is plentiful as it s a big parking lot got for use of the multiple businesses there. The entrances are a short walk since parking are in the back side of the buildings. This space has a accessible entrance via a ramp and steps that you enter through the patio; which they had the open because of excellent weather.

Now for the good stuff! They have PLENTY of different whiskeys to choose from and the whisky concoctions was delightful! You pay a certain amount to obtain some wooden chips this redeeming those chips for drinks. They also have the option to purchase some delicious snacks as well. If you have a larger appetite, no worries; they are plenty of eateries nearby.

Can t wait for outside to open back up to visit again!

Very nice place, fun to hang out. Mixed drinks are really good. Just move clear of the frozen whiskey drink. $30 for 2 and there is no taste to it.

I had an excellent experience at ASW. First of all, the staff is incredible friendly, talkative, and welcoming. Everyone I spoke with from staff was very friendly and really seemed to enjoy their jobs with this company.
The atmosphere was clean and very relaxed with as nice selection on the menu. You have to buy tokens to purchase any tastings of the spirits they offer on 1 oz pours. The best deal is to buy the 5 tokens for about $20 with tax.
I really enjoyed the different tastings.
The tour was excellent. The experience and professionalism was exemplifies in our your guide and it really was an excellent experience. I would definitely visit again.

Stop reading and punch 199 Armour Dr NE Atlanta into Uber and go get a few drinks. AMAZING whiskeys! I particularly loved their rye, and their American Single Malt. I was actually able to taste everything, but those two stuck out the most. At the time, they have probably 6-7 different whiskeys, and one brandy - all fantastic. The space is welcoming and the bartenders are friendly. I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Jim, one of the owners, and his wife who were both truly delightful to speak with. I'm not from Atlanta, but I'll be sure to stop in every time I return.
