I work for a nonprofit and we do our pick ups here. It's very large and the people are amazing the Atlanta Food Bank assistant many agency with food for low income families and homeless shelters and other agencies.
I was part of a 50 person youth group that volunteered here today. This food bank helps so many people. Serve here or anywhere in your community and help out others here! The food bank asked we post the amount of meals we helped provide 10,481 today.
Fantastic place to donate more than just items!
We have volunteered here a few times. Sorting, packing boxes, sweeping... Great use of time!
My husband had a grueling dental appt this morning (which he walked to from our home nearby because we don't have a car. Afterwards, he stopped by the local spot we like to bring our two young kids to and play sometimes. It is a piece of land I think owned by the neighborhood HOA. He wanted to pick some of the fresh home grown grapes on the property, because they were in abundance. We are low on funds until payday. Our kids love fruit! He found two volunteers from the Atlanta Community food bank there picking fruit to take away in their van. Nervously, but boldly, he approached and began to pick a few too. The female volunteer rudely said: "I already picked that one.". Then she called over her male subordinate to basically intimidate my husband into leaving. My husband told them that we are well below the poverty line and a good family. He smirked and said, " These are for the food bank.". My husband called them crooks softly and walked off.
THIS IS A FOOD BANK THAT WON'T ALLOW A NEEDY MAN TO TAKE A BIT OF FOOD. I am ashamed to live in a world where an incident like this happens. If you want to help people, don't volunteer here. All sell and self-aggrandisement, no service to community.
If u ever want a group Volunteering activity..DO THIS!! great experience have done it over 5x in the past 3 yrs.
I truly enjoyed during My Volunteer services here. Truly a Blessing.
Great people doing great work.
The facility is well maintained and organized.
A great place to volunteer. People there work hard to help others in the community. I feel great every time I visit. If you are looking to do some good in a place that helps others this is the place for you.
The food bank contributes a lot to the community, state, and disaster areas. They accept volunteers.
Went to volunteer. Had fun sorting out and removing all expired foods. It was easy and they made it fun. I will go back soon.
These guys were very efficient. In and out relatively quickly with a 10am appt. Nice new building with lots of space. No parking on the street that I know of.
Please bring your friends and share the love for your community
Food banks are always awesome! A much needed fixture in any community and Atlanta's does a great job fulfilling that need.
I was there after hours for a meeting so I didn't get to experience what goes on but I can say that it is a very nice and we'll kept facility with security and plenty of parking.
We've volunteered here a few times and heartily recommend them whether you're in a season of helping or of needing some help this place is good for your soul and for the community.
This place is the best to help those in need of food. I really enjoyed myself as a volunteer and anyone is looking to do volunteer service. I recommend this nonprofit organization.
The pick up process is easy. All of the staff is nice and helpful. Get there early if you want to get any of of the free items on the floor while waiting for your order.
These folks work tirelessly, every day, to make sure that the less fortunate eat. Can you please find a couple hours a month to help. Don't do it for anybody but you. Making a difference in someone else's life will make a difference in your life also.
Like this place and appreciate the work they are doing for the community.
Great Place helping the community! Go Donate Everyone
ACFB is a crown jewel of Atlanta. Empowering and enabling thousands of nonprofits and community organizations to feed hundreds of thousands of in need families and individuals.
Great location, secured property with free parking. Especially Atlanta's Suburban Area.
Great place to work, truly a five star organization.
Gives food to the needy... great place to work or volunteer!
Sadly, ACFB never returned my calls or emails so me and a group of volunteers were never able to volunteer with them. I had contacted them well in advance to schedule my group, but I was not so much as told they couldn't schedule us for any of the four dates I provided, just radio silence. I had so wanted to get involved with an organization that I had heard was doing so many great things! You can't ignore interested volunteers, even if there is a lot of volume - at least let them know that you don't need them at this time. I first contacted them in August of 2017 and now it is 2018 with no response at all, to both emails and voice mails that I left. It shouldn't be so difficult to get involved!
Genuine compassion, great space to help those less fortunate
This is the food bank that Archer chooses to get all of our food supplies to give out to the community Atlanta Community Food Bank does a great job at helping a lot of people please help support it praise the Lord hallelujah!
Wonderful people, great environment, and a blessing to give back to the community with your time and a smile! God is good!!!
Love giving back and the staff is so great. Hello Jackie
If any one gets this message i need help. My phone and accounts had been hacked. Im not able to get in contact with any body , hopefully this message will be seen
Not a great place for a truck driver. Difficult to get in and out to this location. Go to the docks 7-11 not the side like I did. People were very nice. This location is not truck friendly
I volunteered here for a work event. The crew here is great!
First, you go through a short meeting explaining how to check the food and discard the bad or prohibited items.
Second, the food checking and packing process goes pretty quick once you get started. The two hours for my shift went fast!
Overall, I really enjoyed my shift and I got to see what happens to get the donated food to the public.
I would actually like to work there. I read about the good things they are doing and all those they help. I will be applying this week!
They are very nice people and care about people and their needs
Great place to volunteer, everyone is friendly and you feel like you're helping to make a difference.
The host that introduces everyone to the facility is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I enjoyed her passion, charisma, and energy. She was very informative and motivational! The facility was nice and well organized. I really enjoyed volunteering and being a part of the mission. I think that it is a very humbling experience. More people should volunteer and strive towards ending the hunger in our communities.
An amazing experience! I have gone the past 2 years. I can't wait to see the new building.
Love volunteering there. Staff is wonderful. Love the music while working.
Absolutely rewarding and plesant place to volunteer! They do so much for the community, not only providing nutritional food but basic hygiene items we tend to forget others may need.
Very nice place, easy to get in , friendly people, they space out the trucks.clean place.in and out.no over night parking ,Petro 13 miles away.thankyou.
I love what this place stands for, all of the families that is able to eat because of the Atlanta Community Food Bank. I will definitely be back to help, in addition they make sure you have a great time while helping and giving back.
I don't t understand how this work do I go there for food pull up ,and they expedite free of charge ....
I've volunteered with ACFB a couple of times and am so impressed by the impact they have on local communities. This is an extremely organized facility and their staff make it fun to volunteer and give back. Thank you ACFB for all you do.
Great to give time and volunteer. Rise up, Falcons!
This place has been serving the community a long time thank God for them.
Great experience of volunteering. Place is very well organized and staff is committed towards great cause.
I'd like how organize the warehouse is and the fact that they really care about helping people.
Always love to come to volunteer with my fellow peers. And meet other new people in the process
Cleanest warehouse I've ever seen in my life. They work over here too. Hopefully they'll start doing commercials to inspire other corporations to follow this example.
Great organization doing great work. I would highly recommend donating your time or money here!
Disappointed with volunteer opportunity. After scheduling a day off work to volunteer and signing up at Atlanta Community Food Bank, I waited at designated distribution center and no one showed up. After several phone calls, was finally able to get a hold of a food bank employee who said they forgot to show up for the volunteers. Also stated that even if a staff member showed up, they didn't have any work for us anyway. Wish that if the food bank was asking for volunteers they could be a bit more organized and actually utilize volunteers.
They are a great organization because they get communities people involved to create the change that's needed to combat their problems
Excellent people, working hard, serving those in need in the Atlanta area.
A great organization for the less fortunate people.
If you are looking for a place to volunteer, this is a great organization.
Great way to give back! Knowing that someone will be blessed.
Very nice place to do community service.. And the staff is just awesome
If you or your organization are looking for volunteer opportunities the ACFB is your place. You'll show up over and over again. I love it!
I had an excellent time volunteering for this amazing non profit organization!
Worked for a couple of hours with colleagues to sort and pack donated items, an easy but meaningful and rewarding endeavor. They truly do great work
What a great place to volunteer your time. The regular volunteer staff were so great to work with and everything was very organized. Orientation and instructions were very clear. Can't wait to go back, especially once you move off of Camp Creek. Keep up all the great work you are doing!

The Atlanta Community Food Bank is a non-profit organization that has been serving the community since 1979. The organization's mission is to end hunger in America by providing food assistance to those who need it most.
