The location is superb but ...
The staff has much to learn!
Visited the city the weekend and i loved my accomodation. The vip lounge is great, very friendly stuff and close to all bucharest sightseeing.
Accommodation, service, ambient... Everything perfect!
Located in the center, good customer service, old but clean
The rooms are large and service is very good. On the down side, the curtains allow some light to get in, there is an irritating buzz from the ceiling (7th floor). Also, the breakfast is fairly simple and not very varied. The food quality is good though. Didn't see other hotels in the area, but I would look for something more modern.
Absolutely a beautiful hotel. Stop by for a drink at their bar. Very nice. Adriana at the English Bar is super nice. Superior customer service skills. Met Lili tonight, super sweet lady.
Very nice. See the concierge to get things done. Good breakfast. Reasonable to walk to old Town.
High standard hotel, excellent service, relatively large rooms. Close to the Chabad House and it is also somewhat adapted to the religious population: we found disposable breakfast dishes, indicate what bread to eat, ready to make omelettes in our pan, help open doors, etc.
Hey!!! I made my wedding there, the whole hotel is great!
Great location of the hotel, helpful and friendly staff.
Great location and staff is superb. Will definitely stay here again.
Am trecut pe acolo acum 2 luni si pot spune ca hotelul este foarte bun pentru turi tii care vor sa fie aproape de ateneu
Large, extremely comfortable rooms and a superb bed. Varied breakfast. The only disappointment is the spa that would deserve a renovation.
Very warm hotel, excellent helpful staff and the price was good
Where to begin!
First of all I thank the front desk staff for getting me a room even though I arrived around 0330 with a check in time 12 hours earlier than anticipated! They did their best and got me a junior suite for the night at no extra fee! It pays to be both a diamond and team member! I was debating on booking a night or 2 because I wanted to scope this place out!
The junior suite was very roomy! The air conditioner was amazing! I was able to set it to 0 degrees Celsius which for me is heaven! The breakfast at the executive lounge was plentiful! Throw in the balcony outside and I had an amazing breakfast with a great view!
The whole place feels like a palace! Its so rich in riches, safe location, I felt like nothing could go wrong! I went to talk to concierge to suggest me points of interest for my first day in Romania. I was confronted by this gentleman named Daniel. I'll never forget him! At first he gave me a weird sinister look but he was only playing It off to see my reaction. He changed his demeanor to this friendly, super chatty, weird sense of humor (my style) that had me not wanting to leave concierge! It feels like I've been knowing Daniel all my life! We shared a few stories, he made me laugh, I didn't want our conversation to end! I asked him if he can book me a tour of Dracula's castle and he pulled out the map and pointed to the touring company (Mister Tripp) and suggested it. He went out his way to book me, even if I changed my mind, and to contact him later if I was 100% certain I'd go for it. He assured me the tour was a reputable one.
So I went on with my day however I did forget to book one more night stay. I tried to book on my Hilton Honors app but found out it was all sold out. The next day I had my tour but before going on board, I spoke to front desk to see if they can do something about the room. They told me to pack my stuff just in case it needed to be moved, and the lady in front desk assured me she would have a room for me after my tour.
I was told I'd be back between 1900-2000 hrs, however the tour was pretty bad. It wasn't organized, we rushed Dracula's castle, and worst of all we arrived back to the hotel by 2230. I was very upset about it and warned the front desk to not let any other hotels guests go through what I went through. I was very unhappy because I wasn't able to have a last minute meal on my last day in Romania. Well here's where things get complicated with the Hilton.
I came back and was told that I can't be given a room, even though I was promised one earlier that morning, so that really sucked since I had a flight at 0600 the next day. You would think they'd show some concern but no they just shrugged and told me that there was nothing they can do. I know there are other Hiltons near by so why wasn't I suggested the other location? In my situation, I would think I would be shown a bit more concern but I felt lost and hopeless after not having a place to sleep. But lucky for me the Hilton Garden Inn in hometown had some rooms available even though I only used it to get 4 hours of sleep.
I would easily give this place 5 stars, but for what happened in my final day of my vacation, I have to knock it down 1 star. The tour company was out of their control but I really wish they would reconsider working with another company so that others don't come back disappointed. I was overall satisfied with the place, the executive lounge, the super early check in, but my last memory of Romania should not have ended this way!
The people who work here are very welcoming and can't do enough for you. Slightly old fashioned but grand hotel in the heart of Bucharest.
Location, nice large rooms , good service , friendly staff
Central location. Excellent breakfast buffet in a pleasant (on a good morning) setting. Good customer service. Outdated (but reasonably well maintained) room decor could use a decade and a half update. Good wifi around the hotel. Ask for rooms with a view (likely 3rd floor or higher). Check out journey pub nearby for a beer and a simple meal.
For its price and location the hotel is super, good food.
Probably one of the most stylish hotels with History in the back !!!
A very nice place to stay. Friendly staff, good drinks, nice rooms. Nothing to complain about.
I visited the hotel 3-4 years ago at a conference. The interior is a luxury style with precise signs. It was a conference room equipped with the necessary video viewing. Coffee breaks served delicious snacks that you could serve on the first floor on the main street terrace. I did not live in the hotel.
The classiest and professionally staffed hotel I have found in Bucharest!
Only putting one as a minus not possible - is one of the worst Hilton's I have ever stayed in would not recommend
Excellent location. Large rooms and excellent breakfast
Very nice looking hotel, comfortable rooms, good health club and meals.
Check in/Check out process not efficient at all, really needs improvement!
The staff is very untrained, could be improved on that front as well.
Rooms are a bit dated but nice staff and good breakfast
A select, refined and tasteful place. Large, open spaces. Ideal for important conferences.
Absolute favourite hotel in Bucharest, we have stayed many times and always completely looked after. It's a pleasure to stay in the Athenee!!
Pleasant place with old romanian architecture. Good food.
Hilton is my preferred choice of hotel and it's very typical friendly service. Stayed in the Diplomatic Suite, nice to have a selection of English-speaking channels and an English bar to try out (sorry it's a short business trip - no time to check out local culture). House-keepers are funny, come in do a quick sweep around, turn the radio on and then leave! Great price too, for a Hilton!
*** Google Maps location is wrong! Shows Strada Doamnei instead of Strada Episcopiei, which is about 1km North next to Parcul Ateneului ***
Excellent room and staff, breakfast suffocated by aggressive, uncivilized orientals.
Nice but outdated rooms, good service, very convenient location
