Ordered steak took over 45 minutes waiter was very unprofessional and when food finally came out was salty and was definitely not worth waiting. Wouldn't return.

Won t be here any more. Service is worse. Fish daddy is much better
It is great and the food is probably the best japanese food you could ever get here the bento boxes are the best so make sure to try that and the place gives a really good vibe and chill and the customer service was best the Waiter was great and he was really nice
This place is great. Lots of really good food and the prices are reasonable.
These guys used to be so amazing over the past few years, but since January 2020, we have had mediocre, if not terrible, experiences each time we try to come to Atami. One time, back in February, we waited for our meal for almost an hour and then finally the server basically told us the order had been lost and was never been made, we left that time with no meal. Since that terrible long wait experience, we have had mediocre to-go orders over the last few months. My recent visit was the most disappointing. When I was picking up a to-go order, I asked the cashier to help me with a small surprise of a birthday dinner treat for my husband who was waiting in the car, I even offered to pay whatever I needed for this surprise desert. I had this idea because there were two huge groups having the hibachi experience that same evening and I was thinking how fun that would have been for us to have been able to dine in to the hibachi had we not been taking more precautions for our family during this time of COVID19. She was incredibly lost, had no idea how to think outside of the box and help me with a dessert option for a to-go order, and she refused to ask for help from her team or manager. I was severely disappointed in the lack of customer service, I actually left in tears because she was so unable to understand what this desert surprise was going to mean to my husband. I ask her, do you have ice cream or other dessert options and she continued to repeat that there were none to go , even though she also said oh, well yeah, we have ice cream! Maybe I m blowing this out of proportion, but I m very sure this was the final straw for our family and we will not be returning to this restaurant. I would advise that any other customers find a different Asian restaurant in the area, there are plenty of other great ones, Atami has gone too downhill.
I ordered a chicken katsu. The picture showed that the dish contained tempura, however, I only got a spring roll ! Also, the taste of the sushui was not good.
Good people! We got Hibachi shrimp and scallops. Shrimp tempura. Everything was on point. John and Mikaela took care of us.
The only reason this gets a star is because the placements of the restaurant is extremely nice and the overall place itself is very nice.
The service, however, is terrible. Every 2 minutes someone was in our faces about refilling drinks or asking repeatedly to take plates. A man stood by our table the entire time we ate and kept taking trying to take plates the second we d put a fork down. Another weird occurrence was a girl walked over to us and murmured water . I couldn t enjoy my food or the restaurant itself at all. It was unbearable and irritating to not be able to talk to the person you re sitting with due to someone constantly adding water when not necessary, or trying to take a dish they thought I was done with.
Good food, prices have gone up a little but still worth it.
Buzzing atmosphere, specially the Hibachi grills. Food is okay.
A little pricey for my taste, but the food never disappoints! My favorite is the Hibachi Filet Mignon!
I came here once with a large group of friends for lunch and the entire experience was amazing! Not only was the food good, our chef was really talkative and engaged with us, putting on a cool show and just making sure we had a good time, which worked! Overall, I enjoyed the experience and wouldn't mind coming again or recommending the restaurant to friends.
The chef, Alex, was over the top with his performance, food and overall experience. Will be a place I am returning to.
Wouldn't sit the entire party of 6 together at the Habachi Grill. Wanted to split us up so they could fill their 12 seats. We would have waited to sit together. Manager was down right rude counting out the seats in front of entire restaurant when we asked...he said 1,2,3,4.....then pointed on the other side 5, 6...It was the craziest thing. I've never had that experience at a Japanese Steakhouse and we've been to several.
Terrible service. Came in and asked for a roll combination with a simple substitution of a small salmon roll instead of a California roll ($1 difference according to their menu pricing) and was given an attitude from the rude hostess and the chef who (pointedly ignoring me) told the hostess they would not make it for less than a $3 surcharge. When asked why the hostess refused to explain further so we just left. Didn t catch his name but it was a white guy with curly brown hair. The restaurant was empty at lunchtime. With this kind of service I can see why.
Pretty darn good and they have a full bar instead of just wine and saki. Nathan was the bartender and he made up this incredibly flavorful drink called "pool water" (see pics) its flipin amazing.... Seriously.
Great food, Tyler is excellent chief, and entertainer
Our 10th Christmas Eve dinner in a row. Never disappoints. Patrick, our hibachi chef was fantastic. Food was excellent as always. Make it your tradition!
I tried to call in an order and no answer. I called 5 times and still no answer. I figured they are busy so i head there to order and they aren't. He told me that he never heard the phone and it must be on silent. After he takes my order i call just to make sure it wasn't my phone that's messed up, and behold! The phone started ringing. Ofcourse he didn't hear it ofcourse. So i had to wait longer for my food. I even heard the phone ring while i waited and no worker was around to answer or choose not to.
I liked it! A nice surprise in the shopping center...best thing here! Best restaurant near the Residence Inn.
The hibachi is what you want here! Eat in the hibachi area!
Family loves this place especially the hibachi grill!! A must go if you haven't been!! Sushi is amazing too!! Definitely would recommend!!
Food was horrible. Waiter was even worse. Will not be returning.
We had a great time and the staff were very nice. Our food was good and the hibachi chef was very entertaining.
Its an okay sushi place. The food is good but the place is kinda grimy. Feels for like a bar than a nice restaurant.
Love their fried rice! The Hibachi grill is great too... We prefer to order Hibachi from a booth; sometimes the wait for the grill table to fill seating is just ridiculous.
I Really Liked It,It Had Great Food. But My Favorite apart Was That It Had Great Service.Best Service In Town Or Even In The World.Best Service Ever
Food is great. Chefs are fun. The Chefs all have different personalities and shows, I appreciate the playfulness and authenticity and that they aren't just boringly following a script or doing the same thing as the guy cooking at the table next to you. On the Hibachi side you may wait a min or two to get a seat.. then wait a while for the table to fill up and then wait a while to order and then you finally see your Chef....but once they get there and they start cooking its non-stop entertainment and amazing food until it's all over and then it was alllll well worth it! We frequent this place at least once or twice a month. My husband would give 4 stars-only because they don't Corona, but I don't drink beer, so 5 stars from me! Family fave for sure
Usually we love it. New cook made yummy food but the experience was a zero
I love this place, great food & service. I'll return with my relatives. Bring your hunger - portions are generous.
Awesome place to eat! If you want to impress your date this is the place to go.
Courteous staff, quick seating and service. Quality food, entertaining chefs!
Our sushi was delicious and our hibachi was excellent !!!
Good food, entertaining hibachi cooks, on point wait staff. Also, the cook went out of his way to make sure my toddler's food was chopped down smaller and kept everything moved away from her until it was cooled down.
Terrible service! During the pandemic, they would have up to 8 people all in the same area waiting on orders and wouldn't even answer the phone to place orders and not have to wait. Then make you wait 30 minutes for your order to be ready. There being so many other sushi restaurants in College Station I would definitely recommend ordering from other restaurants and the food is better anywhere else guaranteed!
I have lived in Japan when I was in the military. It's going to be difficult to compare a restaurant in Japan to one in America. It's like night and day, the food, preparation, atmosphere, and employees.
This is a great place for large parties. Hibachi Chef was masterful and entertaining! Food was top notch for hibachi and was cooked perfectly. Nice change of pace from the norm in College Station.
We have enjoyed you restuarant for all 4 of the son's graduations. I planned for some time for the last big dinner with family at A and M.
A little pretipping went along way for the extra attention. All was good.
One of our favorite places to eat sushi. Some of our favorites are the Southwest, Texan, Rainbow, and Tiger. To be quite honest I ve never had any sushi here I didn t like. If you have time, the hibachi grill is quite entertaining and you can t beat the freshness!
It's good food, a nice show from the chef. Good is good, not awesome but good. I wouldn't go for myself. Wentt for a party, other than that, I'd go somewhere else.
Loved the food and the chefs better than valdosta georgia glad i found this place will be going more often
I came to this restaurant. And it's and good to bring my
Not very baby friendly in the sense that the only highchair I could find was broken, and theres no changing table. The food was great and good portions (though expensive). Good for large groups.
All food has the same soy and garlic taste. Nothing special. The hibachi experience is good. I think the food is a bit over priced for the taste and quality.
One of our favorite places in B/CS. Hibachi is excellent, fun dining experience. Lunch is definitely the way to go, it's less cost for almost the same portion sizes.
Place is great good food friendly staff and kid friendly
Hibachi is pretty solid, portions aren't the best but still good nonetheless.
Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Food is always wonderful and the atmosphere is perfect. Relaxed and enjoyable nature of the entire place makes the dining experience optimal. Clean and up to date as well as comfortable and fun.
Not good, a reservation was made for a cooking table. One of our party was running late. They would not seat us until the other party got there or we new exactly what the other party wanted to eat. We asked to look at a menu, the menu had tiny print and on paper that was hard to read in a dimmly lit room. It was the first time there and they wanted us to act like we have been there everyday for a month. We left without eating there. Most likely won't go back.
Food is wonderful! Chef was entertaining. Orders were incorrect for 3 people of 8.
Great food, great entertainment!!.. you will not be disappointed.
We had Tyler on the hibachi and he was great, good with our teens and talented with cooking the food and a master at spinning the knives and spatulas. Good story teller as well. Thanks for the performance!
Great food and beverages. Service definitely could have been better. I do not know if that is Covid related or not.
Great customer service. Good price point for food and drinks. Will visit again. Recommending to others.
Sushi is pretty good, the hibachi food is good (you get A LOT of food), but the real appeal is of course the show. Out of the two I ve been to (Katy and here) this one seems much more lively and a little less formal. Highly recommended for those picky eaters since the menu is HUGE.
Hopefully there is better Hibachi than this in College Station
Very good food but a little expensive! Always have positive experiences here.
Don't recognize me as a regular, do after visiting 15 times & bringing as many as 9 ppl w/me at one time. I'm sure they aren't concerned with retaining customers
Pretty good restaurant, however the hibachi section is great. I suggest getting a lunch reservation. If you have a small child bring sunglasses because it helps them not be scared of the cool tricks.
P.S. My absolute favorite chef here is Tyler. I never really liked the restaurant until I had him, it s been three years I ve been going there frequently ever since the first time he entertained us.
(Disclaimer: all of the chefs at Atami are talented and skilled professionals and will provide a unique experience.)
Atami was sub par at best. The restaurant was a little gross (sticky tables, odd smell, dark). The staff was very underwhelming, although there were two waitresses who were really out going but others were not and far from friendly. Waited about 10-15 minutes until someone even came to our table for drink orders. The sushi was pretty boring. (Got the special bear roll) The fried rice was great but you do NOT get your money s worth. For one it s already over priced for fried rice and then they give you a tiny bowl. Drinks were good, they don t skim on the alcohol. Also got crab wontons as an appetizer... was basically 5 chips because the meat filling was non-existent. Overall won t be back, but also didn t leave terribly upset.
Got there near six, it wasn't packed at all. Prices are appropriate for the quality.
This is a 5 star place for sure. I've inly been there as a runner but OMG!!! I've got yo go for my own pleasure. It's rge bomb!
This is a great Japanese cuisine specialized in sushi and other sea foods. There are varieties of sushi and sashami or something like that. I loved my stir fried noodle with beef, chicken and shrimp. The staffs were so nice and the climate was nice. However the price is too high.
I usually don t have any problems coming here but sadly the past 3 times i ve had issues. Past couple times I ordered a appetizer and they never brought it. It was even charged out on my receipt and i had to mention it was never even brought out. The last time i went there was a hair in my fried rice and the manager just gave me another plate of fried rice. I was still charged full price even after what happened. Sadly i don t know how i feel about going there now.
